Chapter 1410: Chapter 1246: Dog and Dog Chain

Old Soil, Ring Time Mountain.

The stars surrounding the mountain are no longer the familiar darkness, but tinted a pearly grayish white, like the embers left after charcoal burns. Numerous brass-colored clouds form a spiral, rising from the mountainside, covering most of the colorless giant mountain tightly.

These brass clouds, draping over the translucent mountain bodies like the bodies of snakes, lie low against the paths leading up the mountain, meandering along the intermittent mountain roads, and discontinuously floating upward...

Yes, that’s right, floating discontinuously.

Staring into the distance at the brass clouds that swing like a clock’s pendulum, pausing every second, stuttering toward the mountain peak, and Ring Time Mountain loomed under the clouds’ concealment, Leon’s brow furrowed. He then raised his hand to pat the old yellow ox’s back.

"Weren’t you nailed on the mountainside? How come I can’t see your corpse?"

"Moo moo! (It’s not here yet, the spot where I was nailed is further up, beneath the clouds closer to the top!)"

Oh...

Hearing the old yellow ox’s low moo, louder than usual, Leon knew it must have waited for this day for a long time, eager to reclaim its body for resurrection. Leon nodded without saying anything, riding on the ox’s back as they continued toward Ring Time Mountain.

...

It’s here!

As Leon rode the old yellow ox across the gray-and-white star realm, passed through the spiral vortex formed by brass clouds, a cloud amid numerous yellow clouds trembled slightly and suddenly glowed deep aquamarine on its hidden side, beyond Leon’s sight.

It’s here!

Noticing the Cloud God’s body glowing azure, the hundreds of True Gods hidden beneath the brass clouds immediately perked up, holding their breath prepared to strike.

It’s over!

With a figure on the ox’s back slightly stilled, staring seemingly inadvertently in this direction with a glance, a thrush’s heart chilled like ice spread from its left atrium to the right ventricle and dispersed coldness through its organs, its entire gut frozen into shards.

Father... No! Damn woman! That damn woman is a trickster of the gods!

What believing in my life-saving abilities, leaving me at Ring Time Mountain to guard... all lies! That damn woman knew the Food God treasured me, worried that the "bait" was insufficient, wanting me to stay here to capture the Food God’s attention!

Run! Run quickly!

Watching the Food God in the distance change course slightly, charging straight into the center of the encirclement, the thrush locked on the cross by a colored chain struggled desperately, roaring as its eyes nearly burst:

You’ve been discovered! You’ve all been discovered! Stop thinking about your damn ambush! Release me! Release me now!

But alas, the delicate chain lightly draped around its neck seemed to be the nemesis of all divine beings, not only firmly suppressing the burgeoning Disaster Avoidance, but ensnaring its sound and spirit, no matter how it struggled, it couldn’t utter a single sound.

Fortunately, though the chain was astoundingly firm, it was only a tiny piece, unable to completely limit the thrush’s actions, and since Fredri designated it as "general manager," someone always paid attention to its movements.

Like a monkey whose peach was stolen, after climbing up and down the cross fifteen times, finally a god noticed its frantic warning.

"Hey"

After poking the angelic-looking god next to him, the True God, who discovered the thrush’s anomaly, pointed backward somewhat hesitantly and said:

"Look there, does Sir Thrush seem to have something to say?"

"Ah, it seems so."

Looking back at the thrilled thrush, the angelic-looking god turned his head away indifferently under its desperate gaze, continuing to fix on Leon’s direction and said:

"Let him fuss, don’t worry about him."

"This... doesn’t seem right."

Glancing at the thrush jumping up and down behind him, scratching its ears, even starting to bang its head against the cross, the True God who noticed something wrong hesitated:

"After all, Sir Thrush was appointed by [Father] as the manager, should we..."

"Oh, what kind of manager is he? Have you ever seen a manager tied like a dog, not even given the chance to speak?"

Waving off the matter, the angelic-looking True God smiled:

"Earlier, when [Father] distributed the roots to everyone, he alone was skipped, saying he didn’t need it. But clear-sighted ones can see [Father] is angry with him, deliberately neglecting, or even punishing him."

"Huh?"

"Think about it, and you’ll get it."

After glancing at his confused companion, the angelic-looking True God snorted disdainfully: 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"His hyped [Disaster Avoidance], frankly, is merely fleeing at the smell of trouble; [Father] breaking ground appointing him among the Four Pillar Gods was intended to use his principle to preserve the others, preventing the Food God from catching the remaining three of the Four Pillar Gods.

Yet, what happened? The new Four Pillar Gods valued by [Father] went to the earthly realm—barely half a day there, not only did they fail to find the true Number 3, they were captured entirely in one sweep; only this waste barely escaped back. Even with [Father]’s good temper, he could hardly let it slide.

So it’s unnecessary to call him ’Sir’ anymore, I think this time [Father] designated Thrush as a manager but denied him roots, even restrained his [Disaster Avoidance], intending him to face the Food God, punishing him properly to see if he dares flee again in the heat of battle!"
