Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Leaving! Is That a Bank?

Not long after, Lu Feng received a call from Yang Ming, who had driven a small truck right over.

When Lu Feng got out of his vehicle, he saw 10 gas canisters in the truck bed.

He climbed into the truck bed and inspected the nozzles on the gas canisters. They had all been tampered with to ensure they would explode instantly upon ignition.

Lu Feng carried the canisters into the apartment one by one. Yang Ming silently helped him, not asking a single question.

After all the canisters were moved inside, Yang Ming said to Lu Feng, "Xiaofeng, I asked around. The gas canister suppliers require a real-name registration process."

"On top of that, customers have to register with their real names, too, and this rule is only going to get stricter. It’ll be a huge hassle if you get noticed or investigated, especially since the canisters you want are all tampered with."

"So, if you really want to do this, I’ll handle the arrangements. We’ll put it under someone else’s name. That way, even if something goes wrong, it won’t trace back to you."

Lu Feng was genuinely moved by his words.

’My cousin really thinks things through, and he’s doing it all for my sake.’

"Cousin, I’ll have to trouble you with this, then," Lu Feng said. "I’ll transfer the money to you when the time comes."

’Since his cousin could handle it, there was no need for him to get personally involved.’

’But I’ll need to rent a warehouse. I can’t keep hauling gas canisters into this apartment.’

Yang Ming soon left in the small truck.

Lu Feng bolted the door and entered the game.

Lin Jiao and the three others were already waiting for him in the Qingfeng Tea Shop.

"Downstairs," Lu Feng said to the four of them as he entered, leading them toward the lower level.

Before long, they reached the second floor.

From this vantage point, they could already hear the cacophony of roaring zombies below.

Peeking through the railing at the dense horde of zombies below was enough to make one’s skin crawl.

Lin Jiao whispered, "Boss, after we dealt with the four Mutant Beasts, we lured in the zombies from one side of the building. We can just climb down the rope from the window. There’s no need to provoke these zombies. There are just too many of them."

"The fact that there are so many is precisely the point," Lu Feng said with a smile.

’He was going after these zombies for another reason: their sheer numbers meant a ton of experience. Even though they could escape by rope now, they had already lured this massive horde here. How could he pass up a huge wave of XP?’

As he spoke, Lu Feng willed himself out of the game, brought the gas canisters in one by one, and placed them in front of Lin Jiao and the others.

’His four in-game employees would find out about this stuff sooner or later, so he might as well let them see it now.’

Lin Jiao and the others stared in surprise at the canisters being brought in, their faces full of curiosity as to what these objects were.

In the real world, gas canisters were already being phased out. Their use was becoming rarer in all aspects of life.

In a few decades, gas canisters would likely be gone completely.

That’s why Lin Jiao and the others, from their time, had never seen a gas canister before.

After bringing in all the canisters, Lu Feng picked one up and instructed the four of them, "Do this: open this valve, then throw it into the zombie horde."

As he spoke, he demonstrated by twisting open the valve on one and hurling it directly into the horde below.

CLANG CLANG CLANG!~

The sound of metal striking the ground agitated the zombies, causing them to swarm toward the canister.

Though confused, Lin Jiao and the others did as Lu Feng instructed. They picked up the canisters one by one, opened the valves, and tossed them into the zombie horde. Following his instructions, they aimed for different spots to ensure full coverage.

The sound of clanging echoed nonstop.

The impact from a second-story drop wasn’t enough to make the canisters explode, but a few zombies were unlucky enough to be hit squarely in the head. They were taken out before they even knew what was happening.

With ten canisters releasing gas at once, a thick, gaseous smell quickly began to permeate the area.

"Boss, this smell... Are these things what caused that explosion before?" Lin Jiao asked, her face full of astonishment.

The site of the explosion when the Boss killed the Mutant Beasts had smelled just like this.

It made her suspect something. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Xu Bin and the other two looked at Lu Feng with the same curiosity. They had reached the same conclusion.

Lu Feng didn’t hide it. He simply nodded, took out a lighter, and tossed it down.

The flame made contact with the gas, instantly igniting the entire cloud and creating a terrifying fireball.

At the same time, the canisters themselves were ignited. Since they had been tampered with, a series of terrifying explosions erupted in the next instant, unleashing powerful shockwaves.

Caught in the terrifying shockwaves, just like before, the zombies’ bodies were torn to shreds.

The zombies fell in droves, and large swaths of the dense horde were wiped out.

Naturally, Lu Feng’s mind was flooded with a barrage of notifications:

[Congratulations on killing a zombie. You have gained 5 EXP!]

[Congratulations on killing a zombie. You have gained 5 EXP!]

...

[Congratulations on killing a zombie. You have gained 5 EXP!]

[Congratulations, you have leveled up!]

[Congratulations on killing a zombie. You have gained 5 EXP!]

...

With the nonstop notifications flooding his mind, Lu Feng leveled up again.

He immediately felt the familiar sensation of leveling up: a warm current coursing through his body, accompanied by that wonderful feeling.

’So, when zombies gather in huge numbers, it pays to give them a proper welcome.’

The explosion wiped out most of the zombies that Lin Jiao and the others had lured over. At the same time, the remaining zombies grew even more agitated.

Lu Feng paid no mind to the remaining zombies; after all, he was out of gas canisters for the time being.

He pulled up his character stats:

Name: Lu Feng

Gender: Male

Level: 7

Strength: 10 (Average Human: 5)

Agility: 10 (Average Human: 5)

Stamina: 10 (Average Human: 5)

Spiritual Power: 0

Combat Skills: Basic Brawling!

EXP: 5120/6400

This level-up had once again increased his Strength, Agility, and Stamina by 1 point each.

’What annoyed him, though, was how close he’d been to leveling up again. Just a little more experience was needed.’

’If only his cousin had brought him a couple more gas canisters.’

’A shame. He’d just have to wait.’

"Let’s go. Time to get out of here," Lu Feng said to Lin Jiao and the others.

Lin Jiao nodded and led the way. To prepare for their escape, the four of them had already lured in all the zombies from one side of the Department Store, so that direction was now clear for them to exit.

They hadn’t dared to do so before because of the Mutant Beasts; otherwise, they would have left long ago.

A moment later, Lu Feng was outside the Department Store. There was a plaza in front of the building. Although the zombies from their exit path had been lured inside, a few stragglers remained, which pounced on the group as soon as they appeared.

But scattered zombies posed no threat and were easily dealt with by the group.

Lu Feng glanced toward the other sides of the Department Store. Dense hordes of zombies had gathered, milling about the outer walls in a state of agitation, clearly drawn by the recent explosions.

Lu Feng quickly followed Lin Jiao and her companions across the plaza and onto the street.

The gray concrete street was covered in cracks, with moss-like plants sprouting from every crevice. The scene was one of utter desolation.

Nearly every building lining the street was fractured, covered in moss, and had shattered windows, adding to the atmosphere of decay.

The street was also littered with abandoned cars, though they were clearly different from the vehicles of his own time.

Lu Feng hadn’t taken more than a few steps before a building up ahead caught his eye.

At the top of the building was a large English word: BANK.

Below it were the words "Shen Hua Bank".

In other words, it was a bank.

Lu Feng’s eyes instantly lit up.
