Chapter 555: Chapter 320: Power of Huang Ting and the Great Ghost Venerable
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Three flying swords shot forth, and the Sword Daoists drew their blades in quick succession. Sword Qi burst in all directions, clashing head-on with Lu Yuan’s flying swords in an instant.
One against five—this was, after all, difficult for Lu Yuan.
Three Sword Daoists held back his flying swords, while the other two unsheathed their blades and closed in before Lu Yuan. One sword slashed forth.
The wild boar immediately lowered its head, intending to block with the Battle Armor atop its head, but it utterly underestimated the power of the Sword Daoists.
With one sword strike, the Battle Armor shattered at once, splitting cleanly into two halves and crashing to the ground.
At the same time, the boar’s skull was also impacted—a long crack split open, deep enough to expose bone.
The other Sword Daoist shifted his assault to Lu Yuan seated on the boar’s back.
Seeing his tricks thwarted, Lu Yuan swiftly slapped the wooden box behind him, drawing a Long Hook, and battled the Sword Daoist immediately.
The back of this hook was razor-sharp, usable as a blade, while the tip gleamed with a keen, murderous edge.

Bam!
As hook met sword, the clashing resounded sharply. Every blade wielded by these Sword Daoists was blood-tempered, fitting their hands perfectly and proving remarkably effective.
After several exchanges, though Lu Yuan held the advantage, the situation was far from ideal. If one-on-one he struggled so long, what more with five Sword Daoists together, and Huang Ting overseeing from afar, ready to join the battle at any moment?
The three previously repelled flying swords returned—their wielders jumped into the fray, entangling Lu Yuan further in combat.
Beset by such an intense siege, Lu Yuan’s expression darkened severely, so much so that water might well be wrung from his face. He never expected there to be such hidden experts among the Sanhuang army.
Had he known, he would never have charged alone into Yangzhou Prefecture with just his blade.
But now, these thoughts came too late—the five Sword Daoists pressed their fierce attack, exerting tremendous pressure. Lu Yuan held the hook in one hand, controlled three flying swords with the other, while the boar beneath him also aided, spewing Blazing Fire to force the Sword Daoists back.
Yet outnumbered, facing foes many and allies few, Lu Yuan was silent but no fool. He immediately abandoned the Exotic Beast beneath him, intending to flee along the road he’d come.
The wild boar, massive and cumbersome, had charge but lacked maneuverability. To command it in a retreat was to make it little more than a target, unable to escape the Sword Daoists’ relentless pursuit.
"Don’t let him escape." Seeing Lu Yuan act so decisively, how could the Sword Daoists let him have his way? At once they dashed after him, determined not to let Lu Yuan leave so easily.
Huang Ting saw that the Sword Daoists’ strength was sufficient to resolve this; there was no need for his own intervention, so he refrained, simply trailing behind at a measured pace.
Lu Yuan sprinted out of Yangzhou Prefecture, this scene falling directly under He Yongnian’s gaze. He was puzzled—why would Lu Yuan break through Yangzhou Prefecture’s gate, charge in, then flee in such panic and defeat?
It didn’t take long for him to learn the answer; five Sword Daoists chased after Lu Yuan, clearly figures of great merit.
He Yongnian immediately urged his White Deer mount to race over, hoping to cover for Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan’s Body Technique was clearly inferior to the Sword Daoists, and was quickly overtaken. All five Sword Daoists struck together, casting their treasured swords forth; at once, each sword became a beam of Sword Qi, flying from their hands directly at Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan at first dodged, evading one beam of Sword Qi, but the other four gave no chance. In a flash, they pierced his chest, four gaping holes revealed starkly on his body.
"Ugh!" Lu Yuan’s eyes lost all light in an instant—his life force began to fade.
"Lu Daoist Friend!" He Yongnian, rushing near, saw this and couldn’t help but cry out in shock.
He never could have imagined Lu Yuan would die so suddenly.

On the other side, Liu Daoyuan battled the one-armed Changqing and held the upper hand. Liu Daoyuan, a Daoist cultivated for years, was superior in strength and skill. With Changqing missing an arm, his strength was greatly diminished.
Liu Daoyuan had meant to finish the match with a decisive kill, but upon hearing He Yongnian’s shout, he whipped his head around—and saw Lu Yuan lying dead upon the ground.
"What?!" Liu Daoyuan was also appalled.
He knew Lu Yuan’s strength well—a Daoist adept at crafting magical treasures, versatile in tactics, coupled with his wild boar Exotic Beast—a formidable combination indeed.
Yet even so—he died.
Liu Daoyuan stared at those five Sword Daoists, faint anger welling in his heart. He swung out his Deer Antler Staff, and at once an ethereal silhouette of a great-antlered deer emerged from the staff, charging straight at Changqing.
Changqing never saw it coming—the great-antlered deer struck him square on. Even as an Inner Power Realm Martial Artist, he couldn’t withstand that mighty impact; he shot into the air, his chest bones shattered instantly.
The Deer Antler Staff in Liu Daoyuan’s hands was a treasure he refined with Earthfire, holding the spirit of an Exotic Beast deer within. It could be released to ram enemies, and if used subtly enough, it could unleash a surprise attack, striking when least expected.
Before Changqing even hit the ground, Liu Daoyuan slapped the bull-headed mount beneath him. The one-horned bull instantly understood, whipping its intact horn out—a flash of cold light shot forth like a shuttle, aimed straight for Changqing’s neck.
If struck, that fine head would surely go flying in an instant.
