For Lu Qing’s request, the mysterious presence naturally did not refuse.

Not to mention that Lu Qing was a registered disciple of that one; regarding the inheritance of this fragment of space, his claim was actually more legitimate than the being’s.

From the potential he had shown, it was unlikely he would touch the Ancestor-Witch Realm in the future, but the hope of achieving the Great Witch was enormous.

Although Lu Qing was not a pure-born member of the Witch Clan, witch-blood also ran through his veins.

If he could become a Great Witch, then the Witch Clan’s legacy would not be completely cut off.

When the mysterious presence heard Lu Qing say he intended to go into seclusion to cultivate, its mind stirred.

“If you’re going to seclude yourself here, I know a place that should suit you quite well.”

Inside a huge stone chamber filled with a thick, archaic atmosphere, Lu Qing looked around the walls with some amazement.

High above on the towering walls there were enormous scars.

Some of these marks were imprints of fists and palms, some were cuts made by swords, and there were chaotic murals and carved images.

But without exception, every scar was unimaginably ancient; each one still faintly emitted traces of Daoic resonance — incredible.

Lu Qing recalled what the mysterious presence had told him when he came in.

“That stone chamber was once the seclusion place of certain members of the Witch Clan, later moved into this space by that great one. The marks on the stone are what many True Witches and Great Witches left behind when they had sudden insights during seclusion. You have just stepped into the Primordial Spirit Realm; if you seclude yourself there, you might encounter an opportunity.”

“Seclusion places of the ancients’ Great Witch masters?” Lu Qing looked at the wall marks, thoughtful.

He activated his ability and stared at one enormous scar that gave off a sharp edge, as if cleaved by an axe or blade.

Among all the marks, this one’s Dao resonance felt relatively weaker.

If a lineage was hidden inside, it should be easier to comprehend.

Lu Qing stared at that scar for more than ten breaths before a rich purple light flickered out and several slips of text floated free.

He immediately knew his guess had been right.

Since entering the Primordial Spirit Realm, his perception ability seemed to have transformed; probing the information of things had become quicker.

Anything beneath the Primordial Spirit Realm he could almost read in a single glance.

Even the Five-Calamity Primordial Spirit powerhouse he’d checked earlier had been revealed to him in only a few breaths.

Now this scar took him more than ten breaths — its origin must be extraordinary.

Lu Qing fixed his gaze on the floating slips.

[Gold Dao Trace: In the ancient Witch Clan, a certain Great Witch left this mark with a war-axe.]

[This axe-scar was left in ancient times when a Great Witch secluded to comprehend the Dao of Gold; at the moment of insight he cleaved it into the stone with his war-axe.]

[Within the axe-scar is contained Daoic resonance of Gold. Because this chamber is wondrous, the Daoic trace has not dissipated for countless years.]

[Transmission discovered. Download?]

“Looks like this really is my blessed ground.”

When he finished reading those slips his face broke into a smile.

He had not guessed wrong — the marks on the wall could indeed be downloaded.

He’d been a little troubled before; the only Witch Clan technique he truly knew was the Ten-Thousand Calamities Undying Sky-Witch Body Technique.

Relying on that alone to craft the Primordial Spirit Technique best suited to him would likely be insufficient.

But now with the many Dao traces in this stone chamber, even if the inheritances inside were incomplete, they would surely give him much inspiration.

They would smooth the road of creating his own Technique.

Lu Qing immediately chose to download the inheritance.

[Downloading…]

After a while, once his ability had fully simulated and downloaded the inheritance, Lu Qing chose to study it.

In the next moment his mind appeared inside a transmission-space, attached to the body of a tall, burly man.

He looked around and found himself still within the stone chamber, though the number of marks on the wall was much fewer.

The burly man he inhabited sat cross-legged, staring at a carved image on the opposite wall.

Beside him lay a massive stone axe on the ground.

Suddenly the man seemed to gain insight. He seized the stone axe and rose to his feet, then began to practice a set of axe techniques.

The forms were archaic and looked unremarkable.

But as the man practiced, the surrounding space trembled; the laws themselves began to fluctuate.

Back and forth he trained through the set. At the ninth repetition his eyes snapped open.

A thread of golden light condensed on the stone axe.

With a flash of comprehension, the man twisted his body and swung the golden light toward the wall.

Boom!

With a tremendous shock, a huge axe-scar appeared on the stone wall.

“Finally made it!”

Seeing the scar, the man’s face showed ecstatic delight.

“A hundred years of contemplation, and at last I’ve grasped a measure of the Dao of Gold.”

“Gold-Radiance Axe Technique. This is an axe Technique which, when cultivated to profundity, allows one to perceive and wield a strand of Gold-law. Truly extraordinary.”

When Lu Qing’s consciousness withdrew from the transmission-space and returned to his body, his eyes were full of admiration.

The inheritance left inside that axe-scar was a Great Witch-level axe Technique.

When taken to its depths it could manipulate the law of Gold; wherever the war-axe struck, all things would give way, even the void might be cleaved — immensely formidable.

More importantly, from this Technique Lu Qing glimpsed some directions for cultivating to the Great Witch realm.

“So that’s it. The Great Witch realm values comprehension of the Daoic laws. The deeper one’s understanding of the Dao, the more laws one can command, and the stronger one becomes. If one can master a complete Dao, that is the highest of the Witch Path — the Ancestor-Witch Realm.”

Lu Qing’s understanding of the Witch Path gradually became clearer.

Before this he had learned the Ten-Thousand Calamities Undying Sky-Witch Body Technique, but the inscription on the stone tablet recorded only an incomplete Technique — the upper half.

At best that could take him to the Great Witch realm.

There had been little about cultivation after becoming a Great Witch.

Only now did he realize that the essence of the Great Witch realm was absolute mastery of the Daoic laws.

This mastery of Daoic law was a different matter from the Five-Calamity Primordial Spirit’s comprehension of spatial law.

What the Great Witch realm pursued was absolute control over Daoic laws.

The Five-Calamity Primordial Spirit’s spatial insight could at most be called superficial.

After all, the Dao of Space is one of the vastest Daos; a mere Primordial Spirit could not truly command it.

At most it could, with Primordial Spirit power, pry a sliver of spatial law—use that fluctuation to accomplish spatial transfer, spatial suppression, and similar feats.

True mastery of the Way of Space remained far out of reach; it was not the same thing.

“Still, the Great Witch realm is distant for me. My immediate priority is to create the Perfect Primordial Spirit Technique.”

With so many Witch Clan inheritances in this chamber, combined with the many Primordial Spirit Techniques he already possessed, he should be able to devise the first several Calamities of the Perfect Primordial Spirit Technique.

Lu Qing calmed his mind and began to walk slowly around the stone chamber.

In the following days he peacefully secluded himself inside.

He contemplated the many Dao traces on the walls while verifying them against his own cultivation path.

He also discovered that not every scar on the wall contained a complete inheritance.

Most were fragmented insights and scattered moves; only a few housed complete inheritances.

But to Lu Qing such fragments were a huge harvest; they accelerated his accumulation on the Witch Path dramatically.

Finally, half a month after entering the chamber, he had gone over essentially every mark.

The idea that had been fermenting in his heart was on the verge of bursting forth.

He sat at the very center of the chamber, crossed his legs, activated his ability, and truly began attempting to create a Primordial Spirit Technique unique to himself.

“This little one is finally starting to cultivate. I wonder what he’s comprehended in these half-months.”

Watching Lu Qing enter deep meditation, the mysterious presence muttered in its heart.

It had, of course, observed Lu Qing studying the wall marks these past two weeks.

That was not strange — when the Witch Clan’s first-comers entered the chamber for seclusion, all were drawn to the Dao traces on the walls.

They sought the mark that fit them best and contemplated it.

Rarely did anyone, like Lu Qing, inspect and study every mark in detail.

Greed can spoil results; those who take on too much often waste their time and gain little.

But thinking of Lu Qing’s defying talent, the mysterious presence did not interfere with his study and silently watched.

A genius bearing the visage of the Ancestor Witch had a cultivation path unlike ordinary people — the great one back then was the best example.

Forceful interference might backfire.

So the being had resolved: so long as Lu Qing did not make any wildly foolish mistakes, it would not meddle.

Now that Lu Qing had entered the deepest layer of meditation, it seemed he would not awaken for quite some time.

The mysterious presence withdrew its mind and turned its attention to the little ones it had left behind.

Little Li and the Five Elements were now soaking in a blood pool, absorbing the essence of primordial blood.

“These little ones have decent potential. In ancient times they’d be geniuses too. If well trained, reaching the True Witch realm should not be difficult. As for the Great Witch realm, that will depend on future chances.”

The mysterious presence watched them cultivate and felt somewhat satisfied.

After Lu Qing said he would seclude, it had on a whim offered to train the little ones for a while.

Lu Qing had readily agreed.

So after Lu Qing entered the stone chamber, the being sent Little Li and the others into a pool of Primordial Blood Essence.

“When these little ones finish absorbing the primordial blood, their power should grow. Then they can undergo real combat training.”

The being contemplated.

Although this blood pool could not compare to the true marrow-blood pool Lu Qing had entered before, it was still a precious opportunity.

Even among the ancient Witch Clan, only true prodigies could enter it.

When Little Li and the others emerged from it, their strength would certainly advance.

After the being trained them, by the time they left, both their strength and potential should be greatly increased.

Thus Lu Qing entered a long period of seclusion inside the trial secret realm.

While he was creating his Primordial Spirit Technique, back in his homeland world at the Sacred Mountain—

Several figures emitting wisps of black qi hovered in the high sky above the mountain, looking down from above.

On the mountaintop the three Great Saints, Xiao Yan, and Hanlingshuang of the Han Shui Palace stood ready and alert.

Xiao Yan held a long sword in hand; her bearing was cold as a winter moon, frost on her face. She stood at the front and glared up at the four figures exuding terrifying auras.

“You devils, instead of hiding in your lair, you dare to come out?”

“Hahaha… Immortal Lu, don’t you remember me?”

One of the dark figures’ demonic qi dispersed and revealed a strangely beautiful face.

“Who did I think it was? So it’s you, old fellow. Why didn’t I kill you back then? Now you come to my door — are you offering yourself to be my sword’s ghost?”

Xiao Yan recognized him and snarled.

“Miss Lu’s temperament is still so distant.” The strangely handsome man laughed.

“Evil Wind, this is the little girl you fancied? A nice taste. She’s fierce; she’s got value for taming.”

At that moment, another dark silhouette suddenly spoke.

Its voice was piercing and made one’s heart feel uneasy.

“Eagle Demon, this woman is mine. Don’t you make a move on her, or I’ll chop off your claws!”

The handsome man’s expression darkened.

“Is that so? How terrifying. If this was the previous cultivation era, I might bow to that threat. But now we are equal in realm — do you think I still fear you?”

The piercing-voiced silhouette sneered.

“Then you can try.”

The handsome man emitted a chilling killing intent.

The sharp-voiced figure did not back down; its demonic qi surged and rolled.

Two demon-heads who had come together suddenly seemed about to clash with each other.

“Enough. Both of you, restrain yourselves. Don’t forget why we came.”

Another figure stepped forward and stood between them, trying to mediate.

“Hmph!”

At the interruption, the handsome man and the Eagle Demon snorted and temporarily reined in their tempers.

But their earlier words had already filled Xiao Yan with murderous intent.

In the next moment her sword flashed, transforming into a cold beam that slashed upward.

“Full of filthy words — evil demons, die!”

“Miss Lu (Xiao Yan)!”

Seeing Xiao Yan act suddenly, the three Saints and Hanlingshuang were all startled.
