Chapter 120: The Jet Arrives
A private jet whistled through the sky, slicing through the clouds at incredible speed.
Inside the luxurious cabin, a young man casually swirled the whiskey in his glass before taking a sip.
"Are you certain it’s a Rank 3 Demon?"
Sitting across from him was the same young woman from the mountain valley who had received the call earlier.
"Yes." She nodded. "Almost certainly."
A grin appeared on the young man’s face.
"Good." Excitement flickered in his eyes. "I’ve been itching to test my strength." He leaned back in his seat. "Rank 1 Demons are far too weak. They aren’t even worthy of experiencing my Demon-Purging Aura. I need a stronger opponent."
The woman glanced at him and sighed inwardly. "Let’s just hope it isn’t too strong." Her voice was barely above a whisper.
The young man’s eyes immediately narrowed. "What did you just say?"
The woman calmly shook her head. "Nothing."
Then she turned toward the window. ’Why did father have to send this idiot with me?’ She couldn’t help but complain inwardly.
Meanwhile...
Back at the battlefield outside the Delvan Tower.
The battle was still raging.
Stanley. Archie. Jasper. Oliver. Frenrir. And Noira.
All six were fighting the demon together. Again and again, the creature was being torn apart. But, again and again, it regenerated.
More than five hours had already gone by. Yet the battle showed no signs of ending.
The demon still appeared as energetic as ever. Its attacks remained fierce. Its movements remained swift. It was like a machine that would never stop.
But the others were different.
Their breathing had become visibly uneven.
Their movements were no longer as sharp as before. Exhaustion was slowly beginning to claim them.
The very outcome Leon had feared.
Just as Stanley was about to throw another punch...
The demon vanished.
One moment, it was standing before him. The next, it appeared behind Frenrir. At some point during the battle, Frenrir had already transformed into his beast form.
The moment the demon appeared, his instincts screamed danger. He spun around almost immediately. But he was still a fraction too slow.
BAM!
The demon’s massive club slammed directly into his face.
A powerful shockwave erupted from the impact.
Whoooosh!
Frenrir’s enormous body shot through the air like a cannonball.
BOOM!
He crashed into the ground in the distance, creating a massive crater.
"Frenrir!"
Noira’s scream echoed across the battlefield. Rage instantly filled her eyes. Without hesitation, she lunged at the demon, ready to tear it apart.
But the demon was faster.
It vanished from its position once again.
Noira’s attack struck nothing but empty air.
Meanwhile, lightning crackled wildly around Archie’s arms. His eyes darted left and right.
Searching. Tracking. Trying to locate the demon.
Then suddenly...
A chill ran down his spine. Something had appeared behind him.
The demon.
It stood directly behind him. The massive club was already swinging toward him.
But just as the weapon was about to descend...
The demon frowned. Its club had stopped moving. The creature immediately turned its head.
And found Jasper standing beside it. In his transformed form. One of Jasper’s hands was firmly gripping the club. Preventing it from moving any farther. At the same time, his other fist shot forward.
Thud!
The punch buried itself deep into the demon’s stomach. The creature doubled over instantly in pain.
Jasper wasn’t finished. His other fist followed immediately.
BOOM!
The second punch crashed into the demon’s face.
A violent shockwave erupted.
Whoooosh!
The demon’s body was hurled through the air once again. Like a meteor, it shot across the battlefield and disappeared into the distance.
Jasper was panting heavily. So was everyone else.
"Damn it." Oliver spat to the side. "What kind of nightmare is this thing?"
The golden layer covering his body was riddled with cracks. Its defensive power had weakened considerably.
Not far away, Noira rushed toward Frenrir, intending to help him back to his feet.
But just as she was about to crouch beside him...
Something wrapped around her throat.
A tail.
"Agh!" Noira’s eyes widened. She clawed at the tail, constricting her neck, trying to break free. But the grip was far too powerful.
The demon slowly stepped forward. Its tail tightened around her throat like a living noose.
The others immediately reacted.
Stanley.
Jasper.
Oliver.
Archie.
All of them charged toward the demon at once. They couldn’t allow it to continue. But before they could reach it...
Whoosh!
The demon swung its tail.
Noira was hurled through the air like a rag doll.
BOOM!
Her body crashed into the outer wall of the Delvan Tower. The remaining section that had somehow survived the battle shattered upon impact. Dust and debris exploded outward.
Noira’s body slid down the broken wall before collapsing motionless onto the ground.
A heavy silence fell over the battlefield.
Frenrir was already down. Now, Noira had fallen as well. Both of them had suffered severe injuries. Without a healer present, neither would be able to rejoin the battle anytime soon. At least not in their current condition.
The demon blurred from its position. What followed was pure chaos. One after another, the three guild masters were taken down within minutes.
They lay sprawled across the battlefield, their bodies battered and exhausted.
Only Stanley remained standing.
His breathing had become heavy. Sweat dripped from his forehead.
"It’s bad..." His expression darkened.
"It’s only me now. I just hope she arrives before everyone dies."
Slowly, Stanley clenched his fists. Even if he was the last one left standing, he had no intention of retreating. If necessary, he would fight until his very last breath.
But just then...
Whoooosh!
Something tore through the sky. Both Stanley and the demon looked up. A private jet descended from the clouds at incredible speed.
It streaked across the battlefield before landing on the ground not far away. The powerful engines kicked up dust and debris in every direction. A moment later, the cabin door opened. A staircase extended downward.
Then two figures emerged.
One was a young woman in her mid-twenties. The one who had agreed to deal with the demon.
The other was the arrogant young man who had accompanied her.
For a brief moment, silence fell across the battlefield. The demon narrowed its three eyes.
Then...
"Muahahahahahaha!" It suddenly burst into laughter. The sound echoed across the battlefield. Its grin widened.
"More food!"
The young man raised an eyebrow. Then a smirk appeared on his face.
"Oh? It can even talk. How cute."
