Chapter 130: Blessing

The King continued to grow.

Five meters. Six. Then seven. The mass formed by the bodies of the rats continuously expanded its structure, like a mountain rising from the ground. With every new monster absorbed, the creature gained more mass, more presence, and more power.

Its countless tails writhed like giant serpents. Each one was now several meters long, and their tips were covered in venomous spikes that glowed with a purple light.

Large bony spikes began to burst from its back. They emerged slowly, tearing through the black flesh as though they were being born from the creature’s own body. Some were over a meter long, their tips so sharp they looked capable of piercing steel.

New deformed arms emerged between the black plates. They were not rat arms, but grotesque limbs with multiple joints and claws that belonged to no natural creature.

Some had too many fingers, others too few, and all of them moved as though they possessed a will of their own.

The creature was slowly ceasing to resemble a rat.

It was transforming into something entirely different.

That was when Count Hark’s voice echoed across the entire clearing.

"USE THE BLESSING NOW!"

The command was delivered with the authority of someone who knew exactly what he was doing. It was the order of a general who had planned every step of the battle in advance.

Everyone immediately turned toward the mage.

She did not hesitate. Despite the exhaustion consuming her, despite the fear she felt in the presence of the King’s corrupted energy, the support mage slowly closed her eyes.

The battlefield seemed to slow down.

Every second stretched into an eternity. The movement of the King’s tails, which had been frenzied only moments ago, became almost motionless. The rats still rushing toward the creature seemed to float through the air, their paws frozen halfway through each step.

One second. Two. Three.

Not a single sound escaped her lips. No runes appeared in the air around her. There was no explosion of light or visible manifestation of mana.

Lukas watched without understanding.

’What kind of blessing is this...?’

He had never heard of anything like it. Then...

She opened her eyes.

An explosion of pure mana engulfed the forest.

’WHOOOOOOOOM!’

The sound was like wind rushing through a canyon, like water cascading down a waterfall, like the distant rumble of thunder. Yet it was not violent. It was harmonious, almost musical in its intensity.

A greenish-white light erupted around the mage like a tiny star. The glow was brilliant but not blinding. It was like gazing at the moon on a clear night, or at the glow of fireflies in a dark forest.

There was no violence in that energy. It was not offensive magic like the wind mage’s blasts or the ice spears that had been used throughout the battle.

It was warm. Comforting. Pure.

Luminous waves spread in every direction. The light flowed like water, weaving around trees, slipping past obstacles, reaching every living being on the battlefield.

It immediately passed through the twenty soldiers.

Their exhausted bodies trembled beneath the impact of the light. Every muscle fiber, every bone, every organ was enveloped by that energy, and an indescribable sense of renewal filled each of them.

Deep wounds began to vanish before their very eyes. Cuts opened by the rats’ claws closed as though they had never existed. Flesh regenerated, skin sealed itself, and all that remained was smooth skin where blood had once flowed.

Bruises disappeared. The purple and black marks covering the soldiers’ arms and legs simply dissolved like ink in water. The pain that accompanied them vanished as well.

Blood stopped flowing. Wounds that had still been dripping, hastily bandaged only moments before, dried completely. The soldiers who had been losing blood no longer felt dizzy, and color gradually returned to their pale faces.

The soldiers widened their eyes as they felt their strength returning. Some raised their hands, staring at them in disbelief. Others touched their own faces, feeling smooth flesh where open wounds had been only moments before.

The wind mage took a deep breath. His lungs filled with air, no longer burdened by the exhaustion that had weighed them down.

The fatigue disappeared as though it had never existed. The weariness accumulated through hours of battle simply evaporated, leaving behind only a renewed sense of vitality.

His mana, which had been nearly depleted, rapidly returned. He felt the energy channels within his body filling once more, like dried-up rivers replenished by a sudden rainstorm. More than half of his reserves had returned in only a few seconds.

The wave also reached Lukas.

An indescribable sensation spread throughout his entire body. It was like plunging into cold and hot water at the same time, like being embraced by something that healed every wound.

The exhaustion simply vanished from his muscles, and all the energy he had spent during the battle was completely restored.

The small scratches he had received during the fight disappeared. The pain in his knuckles from striking the rats faded as though it had never existed. Even the tension that had been building in his shoulders since the beginning of the battle completely dissolved.

Tilbo lifted his head. His antennae quivered with renewed vigor, and his shell, which had been marked by scratches and cracks from the fighting, was now perfectly smooth. The cracks in his carapace sealed themselves, and the silver glow running through his veins shone once again with its full intensity.

Prata moved her front legs, completely recovered. Her agile body, which had shown signs of fatigue only moments before, was now just as tense and ready as it had been at the beginning of the battle.

Even Astra let out an excited cry as she felt her strength restored. Her wing, which had not yet been fully healed, was now completely recovered. She flapped her wings vigorously, rising several meters into the air before returning to her place atop Lukas.

The wave continued onward.

It covered the distance to Clavor and Hark almost instantly. The greenish-white light enveloped them like an aura, passing through their armor and reaching every wound they had suffered during the battle against the Royal Guards.

The two warriors felt the blessing reach them.

In the blink of an eye...

The countless cuts scattered across their bodies disappeared. The claw marks, the spike wounds, the poison burns, everything was healed as though it had never happened. Skin closed, flesh regenerated, and even their oldest scars seemed to soften.

The pain vanished. Clavor’s shoulder, which had been aching ever since his clash with the Two-Headed Guard, was now perfectly functional. Hark’s back, where droplets of venom had burned through his armor, was completely healed.

Their muscles fully regained their vitality. The fatigue accumulated over hours of intense combat simply faded away, replaced by renewed energy that made every movement feel lighter, faster, and more precise.

The mana they had spent throughout the battle returned in overwhelming quantities. Clavor’s energy channels, which had been nearly drained dry, were now filled to the brim. Mana flowed through him like a raging river, ready to be channeled into his attacks.

It was as though hours of rest had been condensed into a single instant.
