Chapter 1075: Chapter 1075: I Only Want the Perks, Not the Responsibility

Pei Yuanchen studied her deeply.

Her eyes were as clear and bright as ever, looking extremely sincere.

"How did you come to that conclusion?" Pei Yuanchen snorted coldly.

"I’m really good at reading people." He Ziyi thought seriously, "The first time I saw you, I knew you must be a good person."

Pei Yuanchen’s Adam’s apple bobbed, but he said nothing.

He stepped hard on the gas pedal.

...

Half an hour later, the car arrived at the He Family’s old residence.

Pei Yuanchen drove extremely fast, speeding along the way. Ziyi was so scared her face turned pale, she couldn’t even manage to speak.

It wasn’t until the car came to a complete stop that she let out a long breath, as if she had narrowly escaped disaster.

Pei Yuanchen turned his head to glance at her, and the wicked fire in his heart erupted again.

"He Ziyi, I’m not a good person at all," he said hoarsely, "Your ability to read people is way off."

"Why?" Ziyi protested.

"Didn’t you just ask me why, even though I like you, I don’t want to be with you?" Pei Yuanchen raised an eyebrow.

Ziyi reached out and hugged his arm, her face full of surprise: "So, you’ve finally admitted that you like me!"

"Yes, I do like you," Pei Yuanchen said, flicking her face, "But I only want to take advantage, not take responsibility."

Ziyi was dumbfounded: "What do you mean?"

... How silly.

Pei Yuanchen cursed silently, lifting her chin once more before kissing her heavily.

He despised his own baseness inwardly. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Even though this young lady was so enthusiastic, Pei Yuanchen had never considered any outcome with her.

Perhaps because he had been an orphan since childhood, he seemed passionate and outgoing, but deep down he was actually a very cold person, seldom moved by anything genuinely.

He was far more composed and restrained than he appeared.

So, facing He Ziyi, he should have pushed her away calmly, rather than relying on her innocence and enthusiasm to act so recklessly.

But the wicked fire in his heart refused to burn out, almost consuming all his rationality.

If it went on any longer, he feared he really wouldn’t be able to control himself and would completely possess her.

Thinking of this, Pei Yuanchen once again pried open her teeth, deeply plundering her breath.

Ziyi still kept her eyes wide open, staring blankly at the man’s close-up brows and eyes.

Dull as she was, she could still see a trace of restraint in the man’s expression.

It was only after a long while that Pei Yuanchen released her, gasping for breath.

"Go home now," he said in a low, husky voice.

Ziyi blinked and spoke softly: "Uncle Xiaobao, what do you mean you don’t want to take responsibility?"

Pei Yuanchen raised an eyebrow, staying silent for a moment before saying, "It means that although I like you, I don’t plan to be with you, let alone marry you."

He Ziyi’s eyes widened suddenly.

But this time she didn’t ask why, her expression vaguely confused.

"Then... are you willing to stay with me?" Ziyi thought for a moment and asked.

Pei Yuanchen stared at her for a while before tugging at the corner of his mouth: "As long as you behave, I’m willing."

He Ziyi’s face immediately brightened: "That’s good then, I promise to behave."

Pei Yuanchen’s mouth twitched again: "He Ziyi, did you really understand what I said? If you didn’t, go back and tell your mom!"

With such a ridiculous attitude, Pei Yuanchen didn’t believe Mrs. He would still feel comfortable letting her daughter stay with him.
