Chapter 60: Chapter 59: Skill Level Test

Tang Yi opened his Attribute Panel to take a look.

His three Basic Skills:

Basic Boxing Skill, Skill Level: 24/100

Basic Saber Technique, Skill Level: 0/100

Basic Swordsmanship, Skill Level: 3/100

Tang Yi hadn’t acquired any blade-type weapons or Blade Skills, so his Basic Saber Technique Skill Level was still 0.

Strangely, even though he’d had Celestial Star Palm for a while and had used it many times, there was no Palm Technique category among his Basic Skills. This puzzled Tang Yi, and he couldn’t figure out why.

Martial Technique Category.

Mountain Collapse (Earth Tier Lower Grade), Skill Level: 10/100

Gale Blade (Earth Tier Lower Grade), Skill Level: 5/100

Celestial Star Palm (Earth Tier Lower Grade), Skill Level: 30/100

He had three great Earth Tier Martial Techniques: Mountain Collapse, which used his body to deal immense damage; Gale Blade, a ranged attack; and the highly practical Celestial Star Palm. However, apart from Celestial Star Palm, which he used often, the Skill Levels of his other Martial Techniques were not high.

Tang Yi treated Mountain Collapse as his trump card. Its power was significantly higher than that of a typical Earth Tier Martial Technique, so he often kept it in reserve and didn’t use it frequently.

Sword Skill Category.

Celestial Heart Guidance (Earth Tier Upper Grade), Skill Level: 1/100

This was his only Sword Skill, and also the highest-grade skill he possessed, aside from his Finishing Move.

Since he had just acquired it, its Skill Level was pitifully low.

Body Technique Category.

Phantom Step (Earth Tier Lower Grade), Skill Level: 45/100

Tang Yi used Phantom Step quite often. He relied on this footwork for everything from escaping and killing enemies to repositioning in a fight. It was his most practical skill, which was why its Skill Level was so high.

However, Tang Yi still felt that something was missing with this footwork, as if he hadn’t unleashed its full potential.

’Perhaps it’s because the Skill Level hasn’t reached 100%.’

’I wonder if this Body Technique will become even more fluid and its speed even faster once the Skill Level reaches 100%.’

Mountain Shattering Earth Splitting Slash (Finishing Move, Level 1), Skill Level: 4/10

Tang Yi was a little surprised to see that the Skill Level progression for his Finishing Move was different from his other Martial Techniques.

Furthermore, the words "Level 1" appeared after the skill’s name on the panel.

This led Tang Yi to guess that the skill could probably be upgraded.

’If I can get its Skill Level to 10/10, maybe it will become Level 2. When that happens, its power might be even greater.’

’It’s already so powerful at Level 1. If it were to level up, just how strong would this Finishing Move become?’

The mere thought of it excited Tang Yi, and a fire ignited in his heart.

However, upgrading it would be incredibly difficult.

If he remembered correctly, he had used the Finishing Move, Mountain Shattering Earth Splitting Slash, a total of four times, and its current Skill Level was 4. This meant he gained 1 Skill Level point each time he used it.

’To upgrade it, I’ll have to use it six more times!’

Using it six more times wasn’t the hard part. The hard part was getting enough Battle God Value!

When Tang Yi first unlocked the Battle God System, he received 10 Battle God Points. Later, he completed a mission and got another 40 points. Then, during his second trip to the Wind Moon Forest, he gained 10 more from a major battle.

In all his time on the Saint Martial Continent, he had only obtained a meager total of 60 Battle God Points!

He had worked so hard for so long, yet he had only managed to acquire a total of 60 Battle God Points. If it truly took one use to gain 1 Skill Level point, then he would need to use it six more times!

But Tang Yi only had 20 Battle God Points left. That was only enough for two uses; he was four uses short!

’How am I supposed to level it up?’

"Sigh..."

At this thought, Tang Yi grew vexed. The method for acquiring Battle God Value was still the biggest obstacle to his growth in power.

He wondered if there would be a way to obtain more Battle God Value in the future.

Finally, with a gloomy expression, Tang Yi opened the Exotic Fire panel.

Three Thousand Flame Flames, Skill Level: 3/100

Tang Yi rarely used this Exotic Fire. Aside from enjoying its Passive Effect, he mostly just used it to destroy corpses and erase any evidence.

The Passive Effect of the Exotic Fire was, without a doubt, incredibly powerful. It increased his recovery ability by 100%, which was like wearing a piece of equipment that provided 100% healing—and it didn’t even take up an equipment slot!

Besides the Passive Effect, judging by the Exotic Fire’s power—it couldn’t be extinguished by water, its temperature was incredibly high, and it could incinerate a person in an instant—it could probably be used for combat as well.

However, Tang Yi had never tried using it for that purpose, so he didn’t know how powerful it would be in a fight.

Over the next half month, while raising his Skill Levels in the Wind Moon Forest, Tang Yi figured he might as well test it out.

For all the skills mentioned above, Tang Yi had yet to achieve a state where he could use them as effortlessly as his own limbs. Although he could execute them and their power was extraordinary, he felt it wasn’t enough.

These Skills and Martial Techniques were, after all, High Tier and extraordinary. Their true power couldn’t possibly be limited to what he’d seen so far.

Therefore, Tang Yi boldly speculated that it was due to his low Skill Levels that he couldn’t unleash the full potential of these abilities.

And so, on his third trip to the Wind Moon Forest, his goal, aside from exploring its depths, was to increase the Skill Level of these abilities.

Of course, before that, Tang Yi first needed to run a test to see how Skill Level was raised.

He entered the Wind Moon Forest with practiced ease and made his way to the outer region. After wandering for a a bit, Tang Yi came across a familiar figure: a Gale Wolf.

The Gale Wolf was a Demon Beast known for its speed. However, Tang Yi had been able to completely crush it back when he was just a Battle Master, let alone now that he was a Battle Spirit Powerhouse.

Such a meager speed was nothing in his eyes.

Without even using Phantom Step, Tang Yi closed the distance in an instant. The Divine Boots increased his speed by thirty percent, and his figure moved like a gust of wind. In a blur, he was right in front of the Gale Wolf.

"Celestial Star Palm!"

"SPLAT!"

He unleashed the Martial Technique, striking the Gale Wolf’s body directly with his palm.

With Tang Yi’s current strength, a Level 1 Demon Beast like the Gale Wolf stood no chance of resisting him.

The single palm strike from an Earth Tier Martial Technique effortlessly turned the Gale Wolf’s body into a mangled pulp.

The Gale Wolf’s corpse was a wretched sight, turned into meat paste by a single palm strike. It was quite disgusting to look at.

Of course, Level 1 Demon Beasts no longer gave Tang Yi any significant Experience. Killing one now only granted him the system’s mandatory 1 Experience Value.

He felt no joy, nor any sense of accomplishment.

If he tried to level up by killing Level 1 Demon Beasts, it would take him until the end of time to get enough Experience Value.

Of course, Tang Yi hadn’t killed the Gale Wolf for Experience Value. He was just running a test.

Having just used Celestial Star Palm once to kill a Demon Beast, he eagerly opened the skill’s interface, anxious to see if there was any change to its Skill Level.
