Chapter 785: Chapter 742: Prison Break_2

"Can you stop messing around? Do I know you? Is today April Fools’ Day?"

The black and yellow armor tilted its head, fingers tapping on its mask: "My world isn’t, and neither is your world. You really killed someone, and it was you who called me here."

"But I don’t remember anything." Su Ming simply sat on the ground, pounding his head hard.

What can he do now? As long as he appears in the city, he will inevitably be caught. Even if the Armored Man can protect him, it means more police will die.

His mind was in chaos, as if there were clues, yet he couldn’t grasp them. This feeling could really drive a person mad.

Sewage nearby sounded like a waterfall, and the stench certainly didn’t help with thinking. He was on the verge of madness.

What about Diana? She’s still at home waiting for him to return, but he has become a murderer. How can he go back?

She’s especially kind and would surely urge him to give himself up. But he didn’t kill anyone, yet all the evidence points to him. It’s not a setup or a frame; it’s the truth. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

But it’s impossible for him to admit to a crime he didn’t commit and spend the rest of his life in prison, right? After a long ponder, he still had no idea. He could only look up at the black and yellow armor.

"Do you have a plan?"

"Ha, you’re having a rough day too. Last time you barged into my world and just as confused as I was, you made me save the world. Now it’s karma, isn’t it?"

The other party responded with glee as if hearing a joke, but Su Ming didn’t understand a word.

"This person..." Su Ming frowned, hesitating on how to address them, unable to discern gender or age beyond terrifying martial arts and being impervious to weapons.

"Ahem! Call me Deathstroke!"

The other person said, moving closer to Su Ming, playfully lifting his chin with a cold finger, like a villain teasing a beauty in a TV show.

This made Su Ming shudder, feeling a chill on his back. Could it be...

Just as he thought about avoiding the situation, a watch-like device on Deathstroke’s wrist started blinking red.

"Oh, the reinforcements have arrived on time. Let’s go."

With that, Deathstroke hoisted Su Ming up effortlessly, like a pillow, and climbed up a nearby steel ladder.

They pushed open a manhole cover, emerging next to an abandoned construction site. Deathstroke led him over some cement pipes and crawled through foundations covered in black plastic sheeting, leading to a small clearing.

The yellow ground was very ordinary, and there was nothing here.

Are they going to give him a cigarette and then execute him? Su Ming began to have wild thoughts again. This place seemed like a good spot for disposing of a body.

Secluded, and well-hidden.

But just as he was feeling uncertain, the air in front of him rippled, as if green currents flowed above, and pieces of white armor panels appeared out of thin air.

As the electric lights moved, a few seconds later, a spaceship full of technological flair appeared before them. The immense boosters at its rear, advanced stealth technology, and various materials never seen before on Earth.

"Is this... an alien?" Su Ming was dumbfounded, hardly able to believe his eyes.

Deathstroke made no movement, simply replying blandly: "To us, they’re people from another universe, which generally makes them aliens."

When the spaceship disabled its invisibility, a hatch on its side slowly opened. Su Ming initially thought some Little Green Men or Little Grey Men would appear for a third-kind encounter.

But in reality, descending the ramp was a tall, blonde beauty in a white jumpsuit.

However, she appeared expressionless and uninterested in life, perhaps coerced by Deathstroke, so unwilling.

"Get on board, I’ve come to pick you up."

Deathstroke chuckled awkwardly, pulling Su Ming onto the spaceship with no courtesy whatsoever. Once they boarded, the spaceship quickly cloaked and flew directly into the cosmos.

Apart from the woman in white, there were several others on board, both young and old, looking like a patchwork cast of homebodies.

Because they seemed more like scholars, not warriors.

Once they reached the bridge, Deathstroke removed her helmet, revealing herself as a young woman with short blonde hair. She flicked her hair comfortably, sighing contentedly, and sat down in a chair.

The front of the ship displayed a stunning cosmic view.

The woman in white pouted and walked over, complaining, "Why must we get involved in the matters of the Main World?"

Cindy smirked at her, pulling out a cigarette for a smoke: "Fixing timelines is the responsibility of the Time Lords, as you’ve said yourself."

"But... the Main World’s issues are not about timelines now. The very foundation of the world has changed. Look at the danger level. It used to be at least level 12. Now? Gideon shows ’???’, three question marks!"

The woman in white spread her hands, complaining helplessly. Facing Deathstroke, she was utterly outmatched and not a contender.

Their presence here was more due to coercion by Batman and Deathstroke together.

"Little apprentice, aren’t you listening to your master’s words anymore?" Cindy put on a stern face, criticizing seriously.

But the woman in white showed even more fatigue, slumping into a chair like a puddle of mud: "My teacher is Deathstroke from our world, not you, nor him. I owe you nothing."

Su Ming snapped out of his space journey awe, turning from the window to ask: "Can anyone here explain to me? Who am I? Where am I? Who are you? Where are you going?"

The woman in white looked at him, then at Cindy, covering her mouth with her long hair and whispering, "Has he lost his memory?"

Cindy shook her head, slowly exhaling smoke, then nodded: "Worse than amnesia. Martial arts, weapons, superpower, intelligence, all completely gone, now truly an ordinary person."

"Wow..." The woman in white squinted her eyes.

"Why are you laughing? Don’t think you can handle one Deathstroke. Your world’s Atom Hero and Firestorm aren’t my matches." Cindy doused cold water immediately, saying chillingly: "Even if you go down with us, Briss will make you pay the price."

The woman in white sighed. That female Batman had detained her girlfriend as a hostage. If Deathstroke didn’t return, she was reportedly going to turn the woman in white’s girlfriend straight and implant a mental suggestion to hate lesbians.

It was terrifying, leaving the woman in white no room for resistance. The Batman of the Dark Multiverse was too dark.

Recalling the dreadful outcome, the woman in white scratched her head and stood up, figuring she might as well explain, as there was nowhere to hide.

She approached Su Ming, scrutinizing him for a while before extending her hand for a handshake.

There was not a single callus on her palm. It was not the hand Deathstroke should have, especially not a one-eyed person. She found it odd no matter how she looked at it.

However, she masked her thoughts, revealing a diplomat-like smile.

"Welcome aboard, Mr. Wilson. I’m Captain Sarah Lance. This ship is called the Wave Rider, a time bureau special ship capable of traversing different parallel universes."
