Chapter 486: How About the Three of Us Share a Family Tree (Part 2)
"Such a vile mind for one so young." Prime Minister Gao’s eyes filled with disdain.
"Vile?" Ye Qianning raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. "Prime Minister Gao, look over there. Isn’t that your wife?"
Prime Minister Gao snorted and turned to look. He hadn’t noticed before, but one glance made his eyes nearly pop out of their sockets.
Lady Gao’s lavish attire was in disarray, and a middle-aged man was persistently tugging at her. She swatted his hands away twice in a row.
Luo Wen walked behind them, urging them forward.
The sound of their muttering and cursing carried over.
"Tsk, tsk. It really is Lady Gao. It seems Prime Minister Gao can’t quite perform, can he?" Ye Qianning clapped her hands in delight.
’To catch this couple out and about together... they’re really something else.’
Prime Minister Gao’s face darkened, and he glared fixedly at the approaching figures.
Lady Gao only noticed Prime Minister Gao as she got closer. Seeing the terrible expression on her husband’s face, she panicked. "My... my lord."

"Give me an explanation," Prime Minister Gao demanded, glaring. His gaze then fell on the middle-aged man behind Lady Gao. "Who is he?"
Lady Gao froze for a moment before blurting out, "My lord, this... this is a driver hired by the manor staff."
The middle-aged man was new to the Capital City and didn’t recognize Prime Minister Gao, but seeing his lavish clothing, he dared not be impudent and quickly bowed in greeting.
"A driver? The manor has plenty of carriages. Why the need to hire another?" Prime Minister Gao asked, his eyes downcast.
"Well..." Lady Gao was at a loss for words.
"It’s more convenient for a secret rendezvous, of course," Ye Qianning chimed in airily.
Lady Gao turned her head and finally noticed the little girl sitting nearby. Fury instantly welled up inside her. "You stop spouting nonsense!"
"What kind of noble lady has her clothes in disarray in broad daylight?"
"I... It’s because..."
"Young Miss, the horse that got spooked and bolted belonged to the carriage Lady Gao hired," Luo Wen reported.
"Oh? So you’re saying this entire mess is Lady Gao’s fault?"
"Precisely."
Ye Qianning turned her gaze to Prime Minister Gao.
Prime Minister Gao clutched his chest. ’How did I get dragged into this?’
"Lady Gao’s carriage horse bolted and crashed into our carriage. Our carriage then overturned and struck the carriage of the Xi Yan Crown Prince. Prime Minister Gao, crashing into a foreign envoy is a grave offense."
At that moment, Prime Minister Gao wanted nothing more than to shut Ye Qianning’s mouth and then give his wife a good thrashing.

"My lord, don’t listen to her nonsense! No one could have predicted the horse would bolt. If someone must be blamed, then just kill the horse!" Lady Gao cried out.
"Just a moment ago, Prime Minister Gao himself said that crashing into the Crown Prince is a grave offense that must be reported to the Emperor." Ye Qianning added, "If you don’t have time to inform the Emperor, Prime Minister Gao, I can return to my residence and have Minister Qian write a formal report himself."
Prime Minister Gao was so incensed he was speechless. He surreptitiously glanced at the Xi Yan Crown Prince.
"Your Highness," Ye Qianning asked, "the culprit is right here. How do you think she should be dealt with?"
Xiliu Yuan’s eyes were cold as ice. "She crashed into Miss Xiang, and then into me," he said faintly. "For this dual offense, death would not be an excessive punishment."
Prime Minister Gao’s heart lurched at his words.
Terrified, Lady Gao collapsed in a heap on the ground. "My lord, it wasn’t me! It really wasn’t! It was all the driver’s fault!"
"Madam, you can’t just slander people! If it weren’t for your perfume, my horse would never have gotten spooked like that."
"There’s something wrong with your horse, and you have the nerve to blame my perfume!"
"My horse can’t stand the smell of perfume. I told you that when you hired me! I told you to find another carriage, but you insisted on taking this one. Now look what’s happened—the carriage is wrecked, the horse has bolted, and you think you can just wash your hands of it all? Not a chance," the middle-aged man said, stepping forward to grab her.
