Chapter 92: Chapter 92: The Khamsin Vampires

Lucian’s crimson eyes scanned the streets.

Who the fuck are those guys?

He was still processing when his Blood Sense screamed.

A kick came from his right side.

Lucian’s arm moved on instinct. He caught the kick with his palm. The impact traveled up his forearm and into his shoulder, rattling his bones. His boots skidded backward across the pavement, leaving two dark grooves.

Wow, very strong.

His eyes flared gold.

║ Ability: B-Rank Iron Physique ║

║ (Exponentially increases physical strength and bone density when activated) ║

║ Cultivation: Mid Core Realm ║

╚═══════════════════════════╝

Mid Core Realm. And a turned vampire.

Lucian kicked out, but Bashir was already gone — leaping backward with inhuman speed, landing on the hood of a parked car. The metal dented under his feet.

Crunch.

Before Lucian could press the attack, a second presence materialized beside Bashir. A slim woman. Purple clothing. Her face was sharp with dark eyes that glowed faintly crimson.

Lucian’s eyes flared gold again.

║ Name: Zara al-Khamsin ║

║ Race: True Born Vampire ║

║ Bloodline Ability: A-Rank Blood Mist ║

║ Cultivation: Late Core Realm ║

╚═══════════════════════════╝

Late Core Realm. True born. And the Khamsin family is a vampire family.

His jaw tightened. This was going to be tough.

Zara looked at him with a curious smile.

She had quite an accent — thick, aristocratic, Middle Eastern.

"An early Core Realm vampire." She tilted her head. "Which clan are you from?"

Lucian said nothing.

He wasn’t really from any clan. Afterall, he was literally an original vampire. A first.

Lucian’s lips curled into a smile.

With pleasure.

Zara studied his silence for a moment, then her smile widened. "So you won’t talk."

She reached into a storage ring at her wrist. A whip uncoiled from her grip — black, segmented, humming with faint red light. The weapon crackled as it moved, each segment rotating independently.

An A-Rank weapon.

"So be it."

Crack.

The whip moved faster than Lucian expected. He tried to dodge, but the tip caught him across the chest. The force sent him flying backward. His back slammed into a car — bam — the windshield shattered, glass raining down around him. A thin line of blood opened across his torso, his hoodie splitting apart and falling off his shoulders.

People on the street who hadn’t already fled started screaming again, scrambling in every direction.

Lucian rolled off the car and landed on his feet. The wound on his chest was already closing as eternal regeneration activated.

That fucking whip is something else.

Zara flicked her wrist. The whip came again — crack — slicing through the air where his neck had been a millisecond before. Lucian used Light Steps, his body flickering sideways. The whip missed.

He rushed her.

His fist cocked back, loaded with Crushing Palm. He was fast — faster than her, he was sure of it —

Bashir appeared in front of him like a wall of flesh.

Their fists collided.

BOOM.

The shockwave cracked the pavement beneath them. Lucian’s arm went numb from the wrist to the shoulder. Bashir didn’t even flinch. His fist was reinforced by his Iron Physique. He pushed forward, and Lucian slid back.

Lucian fired a Light Bolt point-blank into Bashir’s chest. Pew. The blast caught the vampire off guard and sent him skidding backward, boots tearing through the street.

Zara’s eyes narrowed seeing his face.

"A vampire with light abilities," she murmured. "Plus he’s so... handsome."

Lucian was already moving toward her. His fist closed the distance —

Zara’s body dissolved into blood mist.

Lucian’s punch hit nothing but air. Red vapor swirled where she’d been standing, and then laughter echoed from everywhere and nowhere.

Shit.

He extended his Blood Sense to its maximum range. His instincts screamed. Danger. Everywhere.

The mist surged toward him.

It wrapped around his arms, his legs, his torso. Wherever it touched, he felt his mana pulling — draining outward like water through a sieve.

Fucking hell. She’s siphoning my mana through the mist.

Bashir hit him from the left. A straight punch to the ribs.

Crack.

Lucian grunted as he stumbled. Before he could recover, a knee drove into his stomach. He doubled over. An elbow came down on his back — bam — slamming him face-first into the pavement.

Lucian rolled, kicked upward. Bashir blocked it effortlessly. They traded blows in a brutal, close-quarters exchange. Bashir was good. Not just strong — skilled. His strikes came in tight combinations, each one setting up the next. He didn’t give Lucian space to breathe, let alone cast a spell.

And he was winning.

Lucian blocked a right hook, but the force still sent him staggering. A left cross caught his cheek — smack — snapping his head sideways. Blood sprayed from his lip.

Fuck. This guy’s hand-to-hand is way better than mine.

Bashir pressed forward, throwing a haymaker. Lucian ducked under it, but a knee was already waiting — thud — driving into his ribs.

Lucian created distance with Light Steps, flickering backward ten meters. He tried to fire a Light Bolt, but Bashir was already on him, closing the gap before the spell could form.

He’s not letting me cast any spell.

Zara reformed from the mist on a nearby rooftop, watching the fight with narrowed eyes. Her gaze tracked every movement.

He’s keeping up with Bashir at early Core Realm, she thought. No. More than keeping up. He’s reading Bashir’s strikes. Anticipating them.

Her lips pressed together.

He has to be a true born. Maybe even a direct descendant of one of the major clans. But I’ve never seen or heard of a vampire with light abilities in any of the three clans.

She made her decision.

Zara raised both hands. The lingering blood mist around the street condensed into thin, razor-sharp blades — dozens of them, floating in the air like a cloud of invisible death.

She flicked her fingers.

The blades shot toward Lucian’s back.

His Blood Sense caught them. He twisted sideways — three blades missed, four more cut shallow lines across his arms and back — but the dodge gave Bashir the opening he needed.

Bashir’s fist slammed into Lucian’s shoulder with the full force of Iron Physique.

CRACK.

The shoulder bone broke.

Lucian’s vision went white. Pain exploded through his entire left arm, flooding his nervous system. His body left the ground — flying backward — and crashed through the wall of a concrete building.

Bam. Crash. Tinkle.

Bricks and dust erupted around him.

He hit the floor inside what had been a convenience store. Shelves collapsed on top of him. Cans and packets scattered everywhere.

For a second, he didn’t move.

Then his shoulder shifted. Bones ground against each other, realigning. Muscle fibers knit back together. The break closed in under four seconds.

Eternal Regeneration.

Lucian stood up in the ruined store, brushing dust and debris off his body. His left arm rotated experimentally.

Outside, Zara dropped from the rooftop, landing softly on the street. Bashir stood beside her, cracking his knuckles.

Zara’s dark eyes studied the hole in the building where Lucian had gone through.

He also has a sensory ability. He can control blood, light, and now a sensory ability. Her expression hardened. Four apparent abilities. That’s not possible. Even the three major vampire clans don’t have such a stack.

She curled her fingers slowly.

I don’t care which clan this dude is from. He has to die now.
