Chapter 427: Chapter 391: New Weapons
Numerous Earth Ghosts charged forward, and Sang Que quickly took out professional goggles from her bag and put them on. She pulled out a special flash grenade brought from the research institute and fiercely hurled it into the crowd of Earth Ghosts.
Sang Que immediately turned and teleported to the distance. Intense light accompanied by sharp explosions erupted from behind her, and the area around the altar became as bright as daylight.
The darkness was driven away, and agonizing screams emanated from the Earth Ghost crowd. As the strong light subsided, Sang Que stood atop a snake statue, turning to see the Earth Ghosts writhing painfully on the ground, black bodies showing some cracked patterns.
Even the Earth Ghost and Five Spirits God battling on the altar trembled, while the Evil Spirits and insects around the Five Spirits God turned to ash, and the Earth Ghost’s shen kan phantom vibrated like water ripples.
Sang Que was greatly delighted, pulling out another flash grenade and a fragmentation grenade from her bag, and before the Earth Ghosts could stand, she threw them both simultaneously once more.
Boom!
The colossal explosion and intense flash left those who had just fled the Five Spirits Altar in shock, not knowing what transpired over there.
Cheng Ge led this initiative, worried about potential issues. He volunteered to return to the altar alone for verification.
As he emerged from the forest and saw the altar’s situation, he was utterly shocked.
In the fiery inferno, Earth Ghosts howled in pain everywhere. Though not dead, they had lost mobility. Each Earth Ghost had sparks on their bodies as if fragments of the Ten Victory Stone were embedded within, continually scalding them.
Each fragment caused little harm, but the massive quantity induced a qualitative change, rendering the Earth Ghosts unable to stand.
The area surrounding the altar was once filled with Evil Spirits, Ghost, and insects summoned by the Five Spirits God, now left in ashes.
Sang Que, wearing peculiar goggles, flickered around the altar, fiercely hurling strange items at the battling Five Spirits God and Earth Ghost.
Suddenly, a blinding light exploded, accompanied by sharp buzzing, catching Cheng Ge off guard, and his vision instantly went black.
He groaned, falling to the forest floor, his eyes and ears painfully stinging. Finally, he knew what caused the intense lights earlier – such formidable items!
The entire altar was engulfed in flames. Sang Que’s backpack was empty, having thrown out all types of grenades and incendiaries. The Earth Ghost crowd couldn’t attack her for now, leaving only the Five Spirits God and Earth Ghost on the altar.
The Earth Ghost was enraged by Sang Que, intending to take her away directly. However, the Five Spirits God was infuriated, still on its own turf, embarrassed in front of its followers, and pinned underfoot by the Earth Ghost. The Five Spirits God’s wrath boiled, with its strange snakes tangled tightly around the Earth Ghost, rendering the latter incapable of harming Sang Que for now.
Sang Que flashed to the altar base, thinking the Earth Ghost was likely the true form of the Earth Ghosts. Modern weapons could not cause significant damage, and relying on the Deceit Dynasty’s methods to resolve this was necessary.
Directly confronting a Sixth Level Earth Ghost was extremely dangerous for Sang Que, potentially leading to death from proximity. Therefore, giving her all, she only had one chance.
Sang Que took the medicine Qiao Ling gave her and swallowed it. The pill melted upon contact, distributing medicinal power throughout her body, ultimately converging in her heart, which received a strong stimulus and pumped furiously. Sang Que felt her life burning, body dying, and heart’s power surging, close to Sixth Level.
This medicine temporarily unleashed her full potential, but if life burned excessively, she would die instantly, with effects lasting only three minutes.
Sang Que still had Recovery effects; if activated, she’d use the Geng Trigram’s Life Gate powers to forcibly sustain life.
Black mist emanated from Sang Que’s heart, enveloping her entirely, as blood threads uncontrollably scattered from every part of her body. Her eyes turned blood-red, skin blue like an Evil Ghost, having lost human aura and appearance.
Sang Que dared not delay even a second, simultaneously activating the Xun Trigram for concealment and the Dui Trigram for deterrent powers, instantly teleporting into the altar.
Upon entering the Earth Ghost’s shen kan phantom, Sang Que felt as if crushed by a mountain, blood threads on her body curling up. Luckily, concealment and deterrent powers equaled theirs, temporarily helping her resist for a while.
Sang Que rapidly approached the Earth Ghost, red paper scraps from the Paper Macher swirling around her, swiftly binding the black stone leg trampling the Five Spirits God.
Most paper scraps were crushed by invisible power when near the Earth Ghost, unable to adhere to its leg.
Sang Que activated the Li Trigram again, using shadow fire power previously duplicated from He Buning to ignite all paper scraps. Flying green shadow fire turned glorious, charging the Earth Ghost endlessly.
Finally, the Earth Ghost’s stone leg caught fire, with more shadow fire-covered scraps enclosing it. A Blood Scissors appeared suddenly, slicing at it forcefully.
If it were a Fifth Layer ghost, the leg would have broken, but the Paper Macher temporarily propelled by Sang Que couldn’t sever it, only cracking it.
The Earth Ghost howled in pain, enabling the Five Spirits God below to struggle upward, pushing the stone leg off.
The Five Spirits God’s two tails wildly flailed, dismantling the shen kan phantom bit by bit, as the Earth Ghost’s gathered power dispersed as a roaring shadow wind, causing surrounding trees to shatter.
Suddenly, weakness hit Sang Que, triggering Recovery. She quickly used Geng Trigram to suspend life. With her heart’s force burned to the brink by medicine, a minute’s weakness period was reduced to merely three seconds for action recovery.
Exhausting every bit of strength to stand, Sang Que’s right hand wrapped in scraps and shadow fire pressed a Thunder Trigram fiercely on the Earth Ghost’s stone leg.
Upon touch, Sang Que felt a tremendous tearing from every part of her body – like those chicks torn apart by Earth Ghosts, her body completely shattered.
However, the fragmented body didn’t spray blood but rather turned into scattered paper.
Sang Que used Paperman Substitute once more, with her real body appearing beside the altar’s scorpion statue. She could no longer sustain, half-kneeling, gasping heavily.
Everything earlier lasted less than a minute yet exhausted her entirely, leaving Sang Que with a thin thread of life. She maintained Xun Trigram concealment, hiding behind the scorpion statue to observe changes.
Left with barely four minutes, if she stayed still, neither the Earth Ghost nor the Five Spirits God would find her tracks.
She was strong enough; the Mountain Ghost Coin’s ability could become potent. Earlier, proximity and contact were hardest points for her.
In response, she asked Qiao Ling for a temporary ability-enhancing medicine, exhausted five trigrams and a Fourth Layer Paperman Substitute for this matter.
Ghost Vendor only caught two Fourth Layer ghosts for making Paperman Substitutes, all used now, leaving her with three Third Layer ones.
Fortunately, she succeeded, with the Earth Ghost weakened gradually by Thunder Trigram, slowly falling behind. Hopefully, Five Spirits God wouldn’t waste her ’goodwill’ and seize the chance to swallow the Earth Ghost, completely eradicated this existence.
