Chapter 489: Chapter 317: Puzzle Piece Acquired

Leave Blue Star, ascend to godhood in space.

Leaving Blue Star isn’t difficult. Legends are perfectly capable of breaking through the atmosphere and surviving in space for short periods.

As long as they don’t stray too far from Blue Star and remain in its vicinity, there’s basically no danger.

The difficult part is still ascending to godhood.

If one hopes to ascend to godhood by absorbing a Tier 7 extract, the Nian Race’s Tier 7 extracts are not so easy to come by.

By the time they’re willing to give Su Ze a Tier 7 extract, they will have undoubtedly made various preparations to prevent him from slipping away.

They might hand him the extract one moment, only to contact the Nian Race’s Mother Star the next to send people over.

Mr. Ke said, "You should talk to King Mu again later. Ask him how long it takes for a Nian Race expert to travel from their Mother Star to Blue Star, and whether there are any telltale signs when the Nian Race uses the Divine Dice to contact their home world."

Su Ze nodded. Both points were indeed crucial, as they could help them estimate the approximate time it would take for experts from the Nian Race’s Mother Star to reach Blue Star.

Of course, King Mu’s words couldn’t be completely trusted, but they could serve as a reference. That was still better than knowing nothing and making wild guesses.

Perhaps feeling he had summoned Su Ze without providing any substantial help, Mr. Ke fell silent for a moment before saying, "Actually, there’s another very important issue we must consider in advance. After you ascend to godhood, how will you leave Blue Star and travel to other inhabited planets in the universe?"

Continuing to stay on Blue Star after ascending to godhood would be like waiting to be captured like livestock by a Thought Race Divine Spirit, so leaving is a must.

And the universe is vast. To survive and pursue higher levels of evolution, one must find a resource-rich planet to settle on.

Su Ze already had a plan for this, but he deliberately frowned. "That is indeed a problem. I’ve learned from King Mu that Blue Star is located in a remote part of the universe; who knows how far away the nearest inhabited planet is. Even god-level experts can’t cross the cosmos with their physical bodies alone. Long-distance flight through space is an extremely dangerous affair."

Mr. Ke thought, ’Finally, something this kid needs my help with.’ He sent a telepathic message, "You still remember how Marshal Lin Hua left Blue Star, don’t you?"

"You mean... the mysterious inheritance mentioned by Lin Hua’s Legend?"

Mr. Ke said, "That’s right. Since the Marshal was able to travel to the cosmos through that inheritance, and even made a pact with me that we would reunite in space in the future, it must mean that the inheritance still has the ability to send people to the cosmos.

"And it’s surely not that simple. There must be other opportunities within it. If you can gather all four puzzle pieces and open the core inheritance, the resources you obtain might be useful even after you ascend to godhood."

As he spoke, the Storage Ring on Mr. Ke’s finger glowed faintly. A puzzle piece that looked like it was made from a Bluestone Slab flew out and slowly drifted in front of Su Ze.

"Take this puzzle piece. With your current strength, you have a chance to go and explore that mysterious inheritance. According to the Marshal, even if you haven’t collected all four pieces, a single piece can still yield its own rewards.

"You already have a lead on one of the other three pieces. I will use all available intelligence channels to search for the whereabouts of the remaining two. I’ll inform you if I get any news."

In truth, Mr. Ke hadn’t planned on giving this puzzle piece to Su Ze just yet. But he had summoned Su Ze and provided no help whatsoever; Su Ze had no interest in the digestive aids they offered, and they were temporarily unable to procure the extracts he needed.

After thinking it over, he decided he might as well give the puzzle piece to Su Ze now. He had originally intended to give it to Su Ze after he was promoted to the Legendary rank anyway.

Giving it to him a little early made no real difference.

As for the dangers Su Ze might face exploring the inheritance, he wasn’t too concerned. He was aware of Su Ze’s recent accomplishment of single-handedly killing four Supremes.

Su Ze quickly accepted the puzzle piece, surprised that Mr. Ke had been so decisive.

Giving him this puzzle piece was a heavy wager on his future. After all, he had only just entered the Supreme rank and was still a long way from ascending to godhood. It took immense courage to place such a heavy bet at this stage.

Puzzle Piece Collection Progress: 2/4

Since Mr. Ke was being so generous, Su Ze decided not to hold back and took out the other puzzle piece in his possession.

"Mr. Ke, I actually already have one piece. Including the one in the possession of Grand Elder Pulamon of the Filth Earth Organization, that means only one puzzle piece remains unaccounted for."

Mr. Ke, slumbering in his wheelchair, twitched his eyelids but did not open his eyes. He simply asked, "Where did you get this puzzle piece?"

"I found it in King Mu’s Storage Ring. King Mu must have explored the mysterious inheritance at some point and reaped some rewards."

Su Ze guessed that the Golden Bloodline Crystal he had absorbed was what King Mu had obtained from the mysterious inheritance.

A message from Lin Hua’s Legend had once stated that each puzzle piece could open a corresponding Inheritance Treasure Vault. The Golden Bloodline Crystal Su Ze had absorbed was probably a treasure from one of those vaults.

Therefore, King Mu’s piece could no longer open an Inheritance Treasure Vault; it could only serve as one of the keys to unlock the core inheritance.

Likewise, the Inheritance Treasure Vault corresponding to the puzzle piece in Pulamon’s hands had probably been opened as well. The Golden Bloodline Crystal that Mr. Ya absorbed must have come from there.

In contrast, the Inheritance Treasure Vault corresponding to the piece left by Lin Hua’s Legend had not yet been opened. That was the opportunity Lin Hua’s Legend had originally left for Mr. Ke.
