Chapter 458: Chapter 308: Besieged by Supremes, One Against 4
I had to admit, the team composition of the four Venerable Powerhouses sent by the Evolution Divine Teachings was quite comprehensive and well-balanced.
A melee tank, a ranged Light Mage, a support specializing in control and healing, and a psychic-type evolutionary.
Such a well-rounded team would have been a massive headache for any other Venerable Powerhouse.
But for Su Ze, it was perfect.
He had always been the nemesis of psychics. The bald woman, a psychic-type evolutionary, posed little threat to him—or to be more precise, no threat at all.
The support, lacking any real damage output, wasn’t a threat either. At most, he was just annoying.
Imre, the half-tank, half-DPS warrior, looked decent on paper. Able to attack and defend, he seemed quite versatile.
But this also meant he was a master of none, lacking in both offense and defense.
His attacks weren’t strong enough to truly threaten Su Ze, and his defense couldn’t completely block Su Ze’s onslaught.
Simply put, he didn’t deal enough damage, and he wasn’t tanky enough.
The only one who could truly pose a threat to him was Denier.
That ranged Light-type evolutionary’s damage output was terrifying. Not even Su Ze could afford to ignore it.
Su Ze quickly formulated a battle plan in his mind.
’I can ignore the bald woman. No rush to kill her; I need to keep her brain to use as a base station.’
’Imre is irrelevant. He poses no threat. If he gets in my way, I’ll just swat him aside.’
’My priority is to kill Denier, the biggest threat. If I don’t get an opening, I’ll switch to the white-bearded support. In a team fight, it’s never wrong to kill the healer first.’
Although the white-bearded old man wasn’t much of a threat, he could heal. If Su Ze didn’t take him out first, killing Denier wouldn’t be easy.
Just like before, he had torn off one of Denier’s arms, only for the white-bearded old man to heal it right back.
Their first round of attacks having failed, the four Venerable Powerhouses from the Evolution Divine Teachings wore grim expressions. They gave Su Ze no chance to catch his breath, immediately launching a second wave of assaults.
Of course, Su Ze wasn’t just going to stand there and take it. In his massive, hundred-meter-tall form, he unleashed a Rhino Charge at Denier, surging toward him like a monstrous flood.
Denier’s expression remained unchanged, but Imre, who was standing beside him, suddenly went pale.
The white-bearded old man flew over from a distance, closing the gap between himself, Denier, and Imre. With a wave of his hand, he tapped a finger toward the two of them.
A golden ring, much like a button, instantly materialized in front of both Denier and Imre.
Without hesitation, Denier reached out and pressed the ring. It then slid onto his finger, fitting like a piece of jewelry.
Imre, however, looked as if he were facing his doom. He hesitated for a moment, but seeing Su Ze about to crash into Denier, he gritted his teeth and stuck his finger through the ring as well.
The ring also slid onto Imre’s finger.
The next moment, something incredible happened. Su Ze, who had been charging straight for Denier, suddenly veered and headed for Imre instead!
His locked-on target had been switched.
Su Ze was startled. It was the first time he’d ever encountered such a thing. He couldn’t help but marvel at the support’s incredible skill; it could actually switch the target of a locked-on ability.
However, he didn’t cancel his Rhino Charge. He simply went with the flow and continued his charge toward Imre.
Imre’s face turned green, as if he’d just swallowed something foul. Faced with the charge of a hundred-meter-tall giant, he was panicking inside!
But there was nothing he could do. That was his role in their four-man squad. Besides him, there was no one else to take the hit.
’I’m never playing a tank again in my next life!’ Imre screamed in despair in his heart as he unleashed a whole series of defensive skills.
In an instant, layers of light shields appeared on his body, followed by a hard, black carapace. The small round shield that had already been shattered twice re-formed in his hand.
BOOM!
Su Ze slammed into Imre like a colossal meteor.
This impact was nothing like the one at the beginning. Back then, Su Ze had attacked in his normal form. Now, he was in his strongest combat form, his power elevated by several tiers. His sheer size alone was like a mountain.
What was it like to be hit by a small mountain moving at high speed?
Imre could only say—who could possibly withstand this?!
Imre traced a graceful arc through the sky, soaring toward the evening clouds on the horizon, becoming a unique part of the sunset vista.
