Chapter 380: Chapter 287: Absorbing the Golden Bloodline Crystal (Part 2)

’Too bad the King of Mu never expected a Hegemon-level fighter like me to have so many tricks up my sleeve, so much power. His whole scheme fell apart.’ Su Ze scoffed. ’What a foolish alien. He fancied himself a grandmaster, only to be taken down by his own pawn.’

Still, it had been a close call. Thankfully, he had plenty of tricks. The cost was two Self-Destructive Seeds, one headless Sub-Soul, and one Earth Core Potato.

...

Su Ze and Mr. Ya rested at the inn for a night. By the next day, Su Ze’s injuries had been completely healed by his Regeneration Body.

His condition was back to peak, the hidden threat within his soul was gone, and he had even recovered his lost Divine Grace of Evolution ability. Su Ze felt better than ever.

The moment he turned on his phone, he was flooded with news of the King of Mu’s assassination and death!

After all, in an explosion of that magnitude, the chances of a Hegemon like the King of Mu surviving were slim. Besides, some bone fragments had been found at the scene, and genetic testing confirmed they belonged to the King.

Su Ze had intentionally left those fragments behind. They couldn’t be traced back to him anyway.

As for the body he had used for the self-destruction, it had been in a liquid state when it blew up, leaving no bone fragments.

And the headless Sub-Soul, after being modified by the Pope, was nothing but a mass of white flesh without any internal organs or bones. It was even less likely to have left anything behind in the blast.

The only thing left, the head, Su Ze had destroyed yesterday after leaving Qinggu City.

Su Ze clicked on a news article and saw that, just as he expected, the suspected assassin was Feng Bqing, an elder of the Filth Earth Organization.

All the maids and guards at the Muguo Imperial Palace had seen Feng Bqing appear before the explosion.

The Holy Emissary of Mu Country might not have believed this was the truth, but with the King dead, they needed an explanation for the public. An explosion that massive couldn’t be covered up.

So, they certainly weren’t going to turn down a ready-made scapegoat like Feng Bqing.

Su Ze scrolled through the comments. People were either mourning the King of Mu or cursing the Filth Earth Organization and Feng Bqing.

"Our beloved King, may he rest in peace!"

"When will these terrorists from the Filth Earth Organization finally be brought to justice? They’re completely out of control!"

Most common people just parroted what they were told, believing whatever the news reported. The occasional dissenting voice was quickly drowned out by the tide of online opinion.

Su Ze didn’t care about any of that. He had considered contacting Chen Suifeng, but with the King of Mu only just dead, Chen Suifeng was likely under some suspicion. It was better not to contact him rashly.

Besides, Chen Suifeng hadn’t taken the initiative to contact Su Ze either, which was telling.

"Let’s go. We’re heading to the Miracle Oasis." Su Ze planned to go there first to confirm if there were any issues with the Bloodline Crystals.

He also needed to show the Mother Tree the jade stone containing the dormant Nian Race Divine Residual Soul to see if it posed any hidden dangers.

...

Mu Country had sealed its borders, claiming it was to hunt down the remnants of the Filth Earth Organization. For Mr. Ya, however, this was a mere formality. He easily led Su Ze across the blockade and into the territory of Luofan Country.

Mr. Ya’s previous assassination of the siblings, Mosang and Moni, hadn’t caused much of a stir in Luofan Country. After all, they were just two minor figures.

The two of them crossed Luofan Country with ease. As long as they avoided the capital, they could come and go as they pleased.

That afternoon, the two arrived at the Miracle Oasis once again and met with the Mother Tree.

"Congratulations on making it back alive," Ju Han said with a light chuckle.

Su Ze frowned. "I saw a lot of mutated beast corpses on my way in. What’s going on?"

"Lately, many of the mutated beasts on the outskirts of the Oasis have become increasingly agitated, even charging the inner circle. But they were all killed by the Spiritual Plants of the inner circle," Ju Han explained.

"Even the mutated beasts of the Oasis are affected?" Su Ze asked in surprise.

He knew that the borders of various countries had recently been assaulted by mutated beasts, but he never thought even the ones on the outskirts of the Miracle Oasis would go into a frenzy. They were all supposed to be terrified of the Mother Tree.

"Great chaos is coming. A new king may be born among the mutated beasts," the Mother Tree’s voice suddenly transmitted to him.

’A new king?’ Su Ze was taken aback, carefully pondering the meaning behind the Mother Tree’s words.

There were many "kings" among the mutated beasts of Blue Star. They were all tier-six beasts, and each one was a regional hegemon. They had carved up the wilderness, ruling over countless other beasts.

’And from what the Mother Tree is saying... could a mutated beast be about to ascend to godhood?’ 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

’Are we about to see a tier-seven beast?’

If that were true, it would be absolutely terrible news for humanity. It would mean the end of five hundred years of peace and the restart of the War of Evolution.

’If it really comes to that, we might have to rely on the aliens. They went through all that trouble to invade Blue Star; they surely don’t want to see humanity wiped out by the fangs of mutated beasts.’

Su Ze couldn’t be bothered to dwell on it. ’Let the big guys handle it,’ he thought. He brought the conversation back on topic and explained his purpose for coming to the Mother Tree.

A fissure opened on the Mother Tree’s main trunk, revealing the Emerald Spaceship. It cast down a beam of light that scanned the purple and Golden Bloodline Crystals in Su Ze’s hands.

"Both Bloodline Crystals are very pure. I have not detected any hidden dangers," the Mother Tree said.

Su Ze breathed a sigh of relief. "Do you know what this Golden Bloodline Crystal is?"

"I have never heard of a golden Bloodline Crystal, but the energy contained within it is of an exceedingly high level, surpassing that of my master by countless tiers," the Mother Tree replied.

’So damn powerful...’ Su Ze carefully put away the two Bloodline Crystals, then took out the jade stone that held the Nian Race Divine Residual Soul.

After devouring the Pope’s Sub-Soul and the King of Mu’s Consciousness Body, the residual soul within the jade had fallen dormant again and had yet to reawaken.

Regarding the residual soul in the jade, Su Ze guessed that its status within the Nian Race when it was alive must have been higher than that of the King of Mu and the Pope.

After all, during the final trial of the Divine Dice, the walls had been covered in Bloodline Crystals, but there had only been one on the highest tier. This proved that the residual soul within this particular Bloodline Crystal must have held the most honored status.

’If I can communicate with this residual soul, I might be able to learn a lot of intelligence about the Nian Race from it.’

"Mother Tree," Su Ze asked, "if the residual soul in this jade awakens, will it pose a threat to me? Can I use my Spiritual Power to communicate with it? Is there any danger?"

"This residual soul seems to have grown stronger. It appears you fed it a very high-level Soul Body." The Mother Tree paused, as if sensing the residual soul within the jade, before continuing. "With your spiritual strength and its current fragmented state, it poses absolutely no threat to you, even if it awakens. Unless, of course, you willingly absorb it into your own soul."

"That’s good." Su Ze decided that once he got back, he would have a ’friendly chat’ with this old alien coot.

"Still, to be on the safe side, let me place a seal on it for you," the Mother Tree offered.

Su Ze’s safe return from Mu Country and the resolution of his hidden dangers had increased his investment value. The Mother Tree was now even more unwilling to let any harm befall him, hence its proactive offer to set up a seal.

Su Ze was all for it, handing the jade to the Mother Tree so it could set up the Soul Seal.

The Mother Tree itself didn’t actually possess this ability. However, a certain Spiritual Plant in the cultivation chamber did, which meant the Mother Tree would have to go make a deal.

The Mother Tree was trying its best to become a social butterfly, building good relationships with the Spiritual Plants in the ship’s cultivation chamber in order to borrow their powers to help Su Ze grow stronger faster.

Making deals took time. Su Ze grew bored of waiting and finally couldn’t hold back any longer. He took out the Golden Bloodline Crystal, preparing to absorb it right then and there.

He had been looking forward to this Bloodline Crystal for a long time, and it had now become a necessity for his advancement to the Saint-Supreme level.

Taking a deep breath, Su Ze sat cross-legged on the green lawn and centered himself. He then took the Golden Bloodline Crystal and viciously plunged one of its sharp edges into his own arm.

The Golden Bloodline Crystal was sharper than any weapon Su Ze had ever seen. It easily pierced his flesh, almost going straight through his arm.

The moment his blood touched the golden crystal, an instantaneous reaction occurred. The evolutionary power within his body surged madly toward the Golden Bloodline Crystal...

And behind Su Ze, a phantasmal silhouette quietly appeared!

PS: I was celebrating a holiday with family today, so I didn’t have much time to write. I only managed to get four thousand words out, which is two thousand less than usual. My apologies. I’ll see if I can make it up before the end of the month.

A few days ago, I suddenly heard someone upstairs shout "Good luck with the start of construction!" and I knew I was in for it. Sure enough, they started renovations. It’s been sledgehammers and power drills every day. Even with earplugs, I can’t completely block it out, so I’m a nervous wreck every day, and my writing efficiency is really low. If this were any other time, I would have made up the missing Chapters the very next day.
