Chapter 181: Chapter 146: Space Dragon Race, War Spreads, Utter Chaos

Florant’s expression was grim and uncertain.

His initial reason for partnering with Reinhardt was to confront Grand Lord Kles’s Vanguard Team, but he had another motive. The appearance of the Saint’s Remains would undoubtedly attract the major powers of the Ash Soil Star Zone—and even other races—to vie for them.

When the situation descended into chaos, he would have the chance to fish in troubled waters. He could seize the supernatural knowledge Raphael possessed, then take the other Secret Treasures from the ruins and make a clean getaway.

But the arrival of Robie and the people from the Secret Order had completely disrupted his plans. ’And then there was that cunning little thing, Irenia. She must know some secrets about the ruins.’

Therefore, he had to make a choice between Raphael and Irenia.

And no matter which one he killed, he would surely make an enemy of the Imperial Administrative Region and the Emperor’s Vengeful Angels.

’But to obtain greater power, it would all be worth it.’

At this moment, Robie was still half-heartedly reminiscing with Reinhardt.

’Any further delay could bring unforeseen complications.’ Florant knew he couldn’t wait any longer. He had to enter the ruins as soon as possible.

However, just as he was about to interrupt their tense conversation, the surrounding light suddenly began to dim. The already faint light filtering through the clouds grew even darker.

A startling clap of thunder exploded in the sky above them.

A flash of lightning split the heavens.

Everyone looked up.

There, a colossal entity that blotted out the sky, like an island or a great whale from the deep sea, flickered in and out of view within the storm clouds high above.

High-voltage arcs of electricity danced and flickered across its body, while howling gales churned the curtain of rain.

Immediately after, a low roar, deeper than the thunder, echoed between heaven and earth!

When Florant saw the sky-blotting beast in the clouds, he froze for a moment. Then his pupils shrank to pinpricks, and he cried out, his voice filled with unconcealable horror, "The Space Dragon Race?! This is impossible! How could they be here?"

The Space Dragon Race was one of the few powerful civilizations from ancient times that had never been conquered by the Wizards. Even the native Scaya Dragon Descendants, who had plagued the Old Empire for thousands of years, were merely a branch of the Space Dragon Race.

The Space Dragon Race had always been one of the Old Empire’s greatest enemies, ruling countless worlds and rivaling the Radiant Empire across the vast Cosmos.

They possessed a massive army formed from tens of thousands of extraordinary Dragon Descendant legions.

Their strongest members—the progenitor bloodline of the Void Ancestral Dragon—even wielded the terrifying power of the Eternal Knight Level!

The Ash Soil Star Zone, by contrast, was once a barren, primitive wilderness. It was the Empire’s Great Expedition that brought light and civilization to this Star Zone, a new civilized world carved out by the Human Race.

Whether it was the Knight Warlords or the Wizard Lords, this Star Zone had always been dominated by the Human Race.

Only a small number of worlds were occupied by the native Scaya Dragon Descendants.

Now, with Void Storms blocking cosmic shipping lanes, it should be impossible for the Space Dragon Race’s fleets and armies to break through the Void Demons’ blockade to reach the distant Ash Soil Star Zone.

’Could it be...’

Florant’s fears were becoming a reality.

Because the sudden appearance of this beast was only the beginning!

More and more of these colossal beasts crossed the boundary between the Real Cosmos and the Void without warning, appearing one after another in the skies above Kemola as if by spatial jump!

Even a phrase like "blotting out the sky" was no longer sufficient to describe the sheer scale of these beasts that could traverse the Void Realm!

As Reinhardt and the others stood on the surface of Kemola Planet, the beasts looked like cosmic comets, each more than twenty kilometers in diameter. They had come to a dead stop in Kemola’s high orbit, each one so massive it completely filled their field of vision.

Under their terrifying gravitational pull, clouds and lightning converged into vortexes of various sizes, spilling out into the depths of the Cosmos.

Following the appearance of the Space Dragon Race’s fleet, a tide of Demon Legions surged from a Void Exit connecting to the Real Cosmos. High above, horrifying Abyss Battleships rammed into the beasts, and swarms of Abyssal Demons boarded the colossal creatures, engaging the Space Dragon Race in a bloody battle!

And when the first beast, unable to bear the weight of a war that strained the Cosmic Dimension itself, came plummeting toward Kemola’s surface...

Florant’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably!

’A behemoth over twenty kilometers in diameter crashing into Kemola... even if it disappears over the horizon, the impact alone will be enough to destroy an entire continent!’

He could no longer care about his original plan. He had to get into the ruins and grab anything of value before the war between the Space Dragon Race and the Demon Legion reached the ground!

Putting aside any thought of cooperation with the Vengeance Angel Squad, a command flashed through Florant’s mind, and a ship hidden in the dense jungle sped toward them.

Although Irenia hadn’t predicted the war between the Space Dragon Race and the Demons would spill over to this place, it was clearly an excellent opportunity for her to escape the control of Anatol and Florant.

As Florant and the other Wizards boarded the ship, Irenia stared at Florant’s back, her eyes filled with killing intent. The Bloodline Power of the Daughter of the Death Star quietly awakened within her, and the Level of her Mighty Power silently rose to Tier Two.

Her long black hair floated without a wind, draping over her shoulders like a brilliant galaxy.

On her crimson Wizard Robe, imbued with Witchcraft Technology, circuits of energy began to glow.

The phantom of a pitch-black star flickered into existence behind her.

A gravitational collapse, constructed from her Wizard’s Power, silently slammed into Florant’s Protective Energy Force Field. This force, operating on the level of physical laws, instantly tore Florant’s Protective Force Field to shreds.

This was the Magic recorded in the Death Star Bloodline, a part of the Material System: Microscopic Gravitational Collapse.

It could alter the physical laws of the Real Cosmos. With its terrifying destructive power, it was one of Irenia’s trump cards.

Unfortunately, Florant seemed to have been prepared for her. He snorted coldly, spun around to glare at Irenia, and raised his right hand. Streaks of purple lightning ignored the assault of the Microscopic Gravitational Collapse and slammed into Irenia’s Wizard Robe!

"Irenia, you’re courting death."

Spiritual Storm—one of the most versatile and common types of Magic in the Spiritual Ability System.

Its destructive force was dependent on the Wizard’s strength. A single Spiritual Storm from a Master Level Tier Two Wizard like Florant could instantly annihilate a thousand-man squadron of Imperial Infantry.

Even a Hundred-Man Battle Group composed of Official Knights would be devastated; without the protection of an Earth Knight, any Knights below the Five-star Military Rank would have almost no chance of surviving such a terrifying Spiritual Storm.

Evidently, even though Irenia possessed the Mighty Power of a Tier Two Mage, it was far from enough to confront Florant.

But this, too, was part of her plan.

As Florant’s Spiritual Storm blasted toward her, Irenia showed no intention of fighting. She transformed into a streak of light and fled into the distance at high speed.

In the instant she passed by Reinhardt, their gazes met in mid-air.

「Afterward.」

Irenia vanished completely into the rain-swept landscape of Kemola.
