Chapter 29: Silvia (3)

Liam woke up from a very unsatisfying sleep. The bright sunlight broke through the curtains of his room.

He rubbed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh.

Yesterday, he had done something that had crossed the line with his childhood friend, and he didn’t even tried to stop it.

After that, Miria’s driver suddenly knocked on the door, forcing Miria to end the hypnosis game quickly.

After the incident, Miria had taken him home. Liam then spent the rest of the night finishing his piled-up freelance work, which left him exhausted.

He honestly wanted to skip school today.

But in the end, Liam stood up, grabbed a towel, and headed to the bathroom. Looking at the mirror, his body looked quite toned. Despite his busy days, he still managed to fit in at least one full-body gym session every week.

He took a shower, letting the cold water from the showerhead wash over his body. He placed his hand on the wall with his head lowered.

His mind was in turmoil. What he was thinking about now was how to stop Miria’s stupid hypnosis game.

Could he just say directly to her, "Hey, your hypnosis doesn’t actually work. And everything you did to me by force, I really felt it."

No. That was not the right way.

At the very least, he had to find the right moment to end this hypnosis act and deal with Miria’s obsession toward him.

However, even though Liam felt very uncomfortable with this game, deep in his heart he also felt that it was not entirely bad.

Through this game, he could see how enormous Miria’s affection and love for him truly was. Faced with something like that, no man could stop himself from thinking.

’Ahh... this girl will never betray me.’

Liam scratched his head, gritted his teeth, then turned off the shower. He got ready, put on his school uniform, and prepared his books along with the notes Silvia had lent him.

He opened the door of his apartment, stepped out, and was immediately greeted by fresh air, chirping birds, the lively sounds of life, and bright sunlight.

Well... let’s just go to school.

"Meow."

A girl with long black hair tied in a beautiful and cute braid was squatting as she looked at a small kitten inside a cardboard box near the school gate.

Her eyes were warm and her entire face seemed to be smiling as she gazed at the kitten with affection.

"Meow. Meow." The girl replied.

"Meow." The kitten meowed back.

The girl smiled even wider.

"Meow. Meow~" The girl meowed again.

Meanwhile, Liam, who was standing behind her silently, could only raise his eyebrows with a smile as he tried hard to hold back his laughter.

’What on earth are you doing, Silvia?’

He had been watching for a full minute as Silvia meowed at a stray kitten.

Liam could only think that this was a cute sight early in the morning. It made his previously heavy heart feel a little lighter.

"Morning, Silvia."

Silvia flinched cutely. Her smile froze. She stood up and turned around stiffly.

"Liam? H-how long have you been standing behind me?" She asked in an embarrassed voice.

"One minute." Liam said with a smile, deciding to be honest so he could see Silvia’s reaction.

"U-ummmmhhhgg..." Silvia covered her face with both hands. A red blush filled her ears.

Liam chuckled softly at the sight.

"Please don’t tell anyone about what I did earlier." Silvia’s voice was very small.

"Yes... but it was pretty cute though." Liam decided to be honest again. Strangely, he enjoyed teasing Silvia.

"Ugh... let’s just go to class." Silvia lifted her bag and walked straight toward the school building.

Liam looked left and right, remembering that yesterday Miria had said she had assigned someone to watch his every move.

He searched for anyone who looked suspicious, but all he saw were students who had just arrived, chatting with their friends as they walked toward the school building.

It seemed he was relatively safe for now.

Liam breathed a sigh of relief, then walked after Silvia to class with a slightly lighter heart.

He did not know that he was actually being watched closely by someone from afar right now.

"Oh! Morning Liam, and... Silvia? It’s unusual for you two to arrive together." Darren greeted the two of them as they entered the classroom side by side.

"Wait a damn minute... don’t tell me you two actually planned to come to school together?!" Darren let out an exaggerated gasp.

"Stop talking nonsense, Darren. It’s still early in the morning. We just happened to enter the class together."

Darren smiled mischievously. "Is that so...?"

His eyes darted between Silvia and Liam. "But seriously, you two look really compatible. Like... even your appearances strangely match. Black hair that looks slightly shiny and soft. Are you two long-lost twins by any chance?"

’The fuck is he yapping about?’

Then someone suddenly hit Darren on the head.

"What are you talking about so early in the morning? You’re already bothering people?!" Megy said while pinching Darren’s ear.

"Ouch! Ouch! Megy, this is normal for teasing friends, yo! We’re both friends, so it’s fine. Right, Liam?" Darren endured the pinch while giving Liam a pleading look.

"You deserve it." Liam said in a cold tone similar to Miria’s.

Darren immediately looked devastated. He was dragged away by Megy from Liam and Silvia.

Liam could not help but sigh. He then looked at Silvia. She had lowered her head, and when Liam glanced at her, she quickly went to her seat.

’Yeah... of course she would feel uncomfortable. Darren, you freakin’ asshole!’

Liam decided to go to his own seat as well. He put his bag in the desk drawer and took out his books and notes. He needed to study at least a little, even though his body was screaming for him to rest.

Liam’s mental strength was quite strong, considering he had been living alone since middle school. The only thing that kept him going was his talent for drawing.

He then opened the notes Silvia had secretly given him. Looking at the notes, there was an expressive emoji that reminded him of his own drawings from when he was a child.

Strangely, Silvia’s drawing felt very familiar. There was an empty puzzle in Liam’s head, a slight oddity he could faintly feel.

Then the school bell rang. Not long after, a teacher entered and explained psychology material about how the brain works when faced with big problems and how a subject searches for solutions.

Liam decided to listen carefully. He took notes on all the material. Surprisingly, it turned out to be quite interesting.

After several hours, the first break bell finally sounded.

Liam closed his books. He looked toward Darren, wanting to invite him to the cafeteria. But the guy had already been taken away by Megy.

In the end, Liam stood up and decided to go alone.

Before he could leave, someone suddenly grabbed the collar of his uniform sleeve.

Liam looked back and found Silvia standing there.

"Liam... do you have a moment?"
