Chapter 1000: Chapter 30: Prosperity Rising (Part 2)
After dealing with everything.
Duncan looked at Sharella, who seemed a bit shaken, and said slowly, "Send someone to prepare some gifts."
"I need to visit the Ladies’ Hall."
The events that occurred during the battle were unclear to the outside world.
At that time, it was very chaotic.
But Duncan could clearly feel one thing: in this blood battle, luck seemed to be on his side because when the ancient red dragon finally fell, he somehow, as if aided by divine intervention, managed to avoid most of the impact from its fall.
One could only say that ’the goddess of luck was smiling at him.’
Sharella nodded slightly and quickly arranged for someone to handle it.
"It seems charging into the Bottomless Abyss isn’t as easy as it seems."
"Even taking down an ancient red dragon was so difficult."
Duncan, resting his chin on his hand, fell into contemplation. According to legend, within the Dark Monarch’s Silver Palace, there is an entire squad of high-tier Balor demons, along with various other powerful demons. The challenge level of a Balor demon is 20, close to a five-star gold strength, although not as strong as an ancient red dragon, they explode when near death.
That’s right.
The same type of Balor demon that Gandalf defeated; there are quite a few of them under the command of upper demon lords.
"Even a team of high-tier legendary adventurers would struggle."
"Capable of imprisoning the incarnations of divine spirits."
"At the very least, find one or two teammates with seven-star strength (around professional level 30)."
"Such individuals are rare across the entire material plane."
Whether or not the goddess of luck—Taimola—was smiling, Duncan returned to the Ladies’ Hall and expressed his respect.
Afterwards, he arranged for people to handle everything that followed.
In fact, there weren’t many things that needed his personal attention. Sharella’s combat strength wasn’t particularly high, but her internal management abilities were maxed out. The divine spirit had been missing for over ten years, yet the Five Fierce Women managed to keep the church running, demonstrating their remarkable ability to get things done.
Opening trade routes, expanding influence, indirectly controlling Tivanton.
When the gigantic corpse of the Blood Flame Tyrant was transported back the next day, the entire Cormyr Kingdom region was in an uproar, especially the areas attacked by the ancient red dragon, where celebrations resembling New Year festivities were held.
The distribution of spoils could be wholly entrusted to Sharella.
After this battle.
Duncan should be able to gain an additional legendary-level Dragon Tooth Sword, along with a complete set of ancient red dragon armor, among many other scattered items; the Wealth Church would definitely not overlook anything valuable.
As night fell.
Duncan temporarily stayed in the city of Arabel to recuperate.
While he was sorting through the spoils of this battle, a soft rustle of footsteps sounded outside the door, followed by Sharella, who was evidently dressed up, slowly walking in.
Under the radiant crystal lights.
Sharella wore a moon-white long robe edged with gilt, with silver-thread woven sigils at the cuffs, glinting with flecks of gold as she walked.
The robes of the Wealth Church priestess weren’t revealing, yet her slender, well-proportioned legs were still faintly visible, wrapped in silver stockings, her entire appearance exuding nobility, like a blooming flower of earthly wealth.
Her pale gold hair cascaded like a waterfall, adorned with three teardrop cat’s eyes gemstones. Noticing Duncan’s gaze, Sharella slightly tilted her head and smiled softly, the amber radiance refracting through her movement.
This woman was dressed in the luxurious attire worn by the Gold Lord during promotion. Her pale fingers lightly caressed the top of the golden scepter, which was inlaid with a resplendent star sapphire. Her expression was haughty, chin up and chest forward, the dazzling red jewel hanging from her neck, nestled in a valley, shining brilliantly as she walked, complementing her beautiful face.
Arrogant, noble, graceful, breathtaking.
Sharella, seemingly the queen of a financial dynasty wielding immense wealth, arrogantly walked step by step up to Duncan, yet in the next moment, her eyes sparkled mischievously, lightly biting her red lips, slowly kneeling before Duncan, and in a deliberately haughty tone, trembled as she said, "Does the master have no one to serve him tonight?"
This extreme contrast made Duncan’s breathing hitch.
His answer was to remain silent, keeping focused.
"Mmm..."
Sharella panted sharply, casting a sidelong glance at the man in front of her, then raised her slender fingers, slowly unfastening the luxurious priestess robe.
But Duncan reached out to stop her, whispering, "No, take the scepter, turn around."
Sharella’s body trembled slightly, compliantly turning around.
Duncan caressed the luxuriously ornate priestess robe, savoring the graceful curves beneath, finally letting a satisfied smile break across his lips.
He slightly stretched his muscles and bones that night.
The next day, Duncan entrusted the matters of the Golden Road entirely to Sharella, while he led the Golden Legion Knights back to Selgaunt. The Golden Legion’s duty is to guard the Grand Treasury, and they can’t be easily mobilized, often stationed at the Wealth Church’s bank.
The Mother of Great Bliss, adorned splendidly, personally lead the welcoming party for Duncan’s triumphant return.
After obtaining Duncan’s promise, the Mother of Great Bliss also reverted to her usual grace and composure, still graciously singing and dancing, but perhaps feeling the pressures of competition, she was indeed slightly more diligent than before.
After this battle.
The influence of the Wealth Church and the Joyous Cult truly established itself in the Sea of Fallen Stars because it had been decades since they last had such a brilliant achievement.
Even upon hearing the news of the dragon slaying, the Red Robe Mages of Selgaunt sent an envoy.
