Chapter 355: Chapter 330: The Beast Attacks_1
The enormous beast moved with lightning speed action. After killing one person, it seamlessly swung its tail to attack a skilled master in the third transition of the Primordial Spirit Realm.
The horrifying power caused even space itself to tremble; the muscles of the large man, in his third transition of the Primordial Spirit Realm, tightened, sensing mortal danger. He roared and erupted with all his strength.
His Spiritual Treasure long spear in hand quickly expanded, transforming into a sky-piercing pillar, standing before him. Simultaneously, his abdomen shone, and a bronze tiger sprang out, charging forward. This was his Organ Miracle.
Boom!
The beast’s tail collided with the bronze tiger first, causing it to immediately explode. Subsequently, it landed on the long spear. The terrorizing power sent the large man in his third Primordial Spirit transition flying backwards several thousand meters, crashing heavily into the ground, and creating a trench hundreds of meters long.
The large man struggled to stand while coughing up large amounts of blood.
The remaining two people, ghostly pale, frantically attempted to escape.
But with one swoop, the colossal beast caught up with a woman in her second Primordial Spirit transition, its beast claws as large as a small hill swatted down.
The woman brought out a shield-shaped Spiritual Treasure intending to resist, but when the beast’s claw came down, it instantly shattered the shield.
"My end is near..."
She wailed.
Splat!
The next moment, the beast’s paw came down, and her body turned into a bloody mist, with only a smattering of bones scattered about.
Then, the beast let out a long roar, and a snow-white sword of light shot from its mouth, slashing the void and killing another Primordial Spirit who was miles away.
The large man in his third Primordial Spirit transition was terrified. He turned to run, pushing his speed to the limit.
However, the beast obviously had no intention of letting him go. With six legs stepping in mid-air, it chased after the large man.
The large man’s speed was significantly hampered due to his injuries, and the beast quickly caught up. Opening its jaws, a light sword chopped down towards him.
Seeing that he couldn’t escape, the large man halted to fight for his life. His third eye shone, pushing his Soul Power to the limit. The Heavenly Earth Power exploded, transforming into a hundred-meter-long spear light that swept out to block the descending light sword.
Meanwhile, the large man himself was unified with his spear, stabbing towards the beast’s eyes.
But the large man had underestimated the beast. The light sword descended, shattering the spear light, and its force remained unabated, continuing to slash down.
The large man was alarmed and had to abandon attacking the beast midway. He redirected his spear to the sky, confronting the light sword.
With a loud boom, the large man crashed into the ground like a meteor, creating a large pit. Rocks were scattered, and cracks covered the ground like cobwebs.
The beast stepped forward, its claw reaching towards the large man.
"Die together."
The large man knew his end was near. A crazed look crossed his face, and both his forehead and body emitted brilliant lights.
Boom!
The large man burst apart, creating a giant pit in the ground. The destructive energy and countless bits of rock fell onto the colossal beast.
But the beast only staggered back a few steps, shaking its somewhat dizzy head. It grunted a few times, seemingly unharmed. After sweeping the surroundings with its gaze and seeing no survivors, it strolled boldly towards the dragon’s head.
Fifty miles away, in the sky, nine figures hid behind a cloud.
Without needing to say much, they were all Primordial Spirits.
The leader of the group was a handsome youth with a scholarly appearance.
He stood with his hands behind his back, an extraordinary aura radiating from him. The other eight people surrounded him, like stars around the moon.
"Young Master, this beast was born from the flesh and blood of an immortal and contains Demonic Qi. Its power is extremely strong and it has a murderous nature. With this beast blocking our path, it’s going to be difficult for us to enter and obtain the treasure." An old man sighed.
"This treasure is a must-have; it is extremely vital for our development. Most importantly, there’s a good chance that one of the Nine Extremes of the World, created by our Martial Ancestor, is within." The youth stated, serious and steadfast.
The others fell silent, thinking about their strategies.
"In that case, let’s spread the presence of a Dagu Dynasty treasure here, attracting different factions to vie for it. The combined power of masters from all these factions would definitely be able to take down this beast." The youth suggested.
"Young Master, if we do this, even if we defeat this beast, we will still face competition from other factions. We might not be able to seize the treasure." Another old man complied.
"It’s better than having no chance at all. Besides, do you think the other factions can get the treasure? In the end, the treasure will fall into our hands. After all, this is the wealth left by our ancestors, and it is the hope for our clan’s revival. It should belong to us." The youth spoke, carrying a determined expression.
"Very well, let us proceed with the Young Master’s plan and divulge the news of the treasure." another old man agreed.
"Remember, when spreading the news, be sure to divulge it explicitly that this is the largest treasure left by the Dagu Dynasty. It has one of the Nine Extremes of the World. Only then can we attract more people. If there are too few people, we won’t be able to deal with that monster. I know people have already started moving south, and once news of this gets out, those people will surely return north." The youth instructed.
"Yes!"
The crowd bowed. Then they turned into rays of light and left.
Only the youth and a robust man remained hidden in the clouds.
"Young Master, people from the various factions are scattered everywhere. It won’t be easy to get the news to all of them." The robust man stated.
"They will find a way. There will be some difficulties, but worst-case scenario, they will spend some extra time." The youth replied.
...
For two days, Lu Yan and Shen Yinuo wandered around aimlessly like headless flies. They couldn’t find the Dragon-shaped mountain ranges, not to mention any Spiritual Medicine.
This area had long been picked clean by those in the Primordial Spirit Realm.
However, they still had plenty of time before they needed to leave, so they could only continue their slow search with patience.
In a blink of an eye, two more days passed.
"That mountain range looks magnificent. Don’t you think it looks like a dragon?"
Shen Yinuo suddenly excitedly pointed straight ahead.
"Let’s have a look from the skies."
With a tug at Shen Yinuo’s hand, Lu Yan took off into the sky, soaring several kilometers high for a distant view.
From afar, the mountains sprawled across the earth like a giant dragon.
"It does resemble a huge dragon, we must have found the right place."
Lu Yan’s eyes lit up.
"The dragon’s head is over there."
Shen Yinuo pointed toward the east.
The two quickly flew toward the location of the dragon’s head. Upon finding no other people around, they descended on the spot of the dragon head and moved toward the direction of the dragon’s mouth.
From afar, amid the clouds, a noble-looking young man and a muscular man naturally noticed the pair.
"Young Master, two people have arrived. How shall we proceed?"
The muscular man asked.
"Let them go in, no need to stop them. They’re walking into their deaths anyway."
The young man replied emotionlessly.
In the beginning, sporadic individuals trickled in, just as he expected. Not everyone could possibly get the message at the same time.
"Wait a minute..."
After traveling a certain distance, Lu Yan abruptly stopped Shen Yinuo, his face serious.
Shen Yinuo had also noticed something. She scanned her surroundings and said, "This area bears signs of a great battle, and over there, a fragment of a corpse..."
Lu Yan took a step forward and appeared several hundred meters away amongst the chaotic rubble, where lay a fragment of a corpse, approximately a fifth of a human body. Next to it, a Sumi Mustard Seed Bag was discarded.
With a mid-air grasp, the Sumi Mustard Seed Bag fell into Lu Yan’s hand.
By controlling his True Vigor, he easily wiped out the remaining Soul Power attached to the Sumi Mustard Seed Bag. He scanned the bag’s contents - a variety of items.
"The person was killed, but the Sumi Mustard Seed Bag wasn’t taken. It seems like this person wasn’t killed by a human martial artist, but was more likely killed by some kind of beast."
Lu Yan speculated.
"We should be careful. There could be vicious beasts lurking in this area."
Shen Yinuo advised.
The two suppressed their aura and quietly headed for the dragon’s mouth.
On the way, Lu Yan encountered many corpses, all in terrible states.
They discovered two more Sumi Mustard Seed Bags.
The pair continued deeper and disappeared from the noble young man’s line of sight.
Still, the young man remained calm, utterly convinced that the pair would meet their doom soon enough.
A large cave laid within the yawning mouth of the dragon-shaped mountain range.
"It’s inside there."
Seeing the cave, Lu Yan and Shen Yinuo couldn’t hide their elation, but remained cautious, slowly approaching the cave.
Roar!
Suddenly, a terrifying roar echoed from inside the cave, followed by a vast aura that swept toward them like a tidal wave.
Both of them felt as though an immense mountain was pressing down on them.
The wind howled as a thirty-meter-tall beast lunged out of the cave, pouncing toward Lu Yan and Shen Yinuo with astonishing speed.
Not good!
The faces of Lu Yan and Shen Yinuo changed drastically.
Without even clashing directly, just feeling its aura, they knew they were no match for this giant beast.
Both of them quickly retreated.
During their retreat, Lu Yan had already drawn his war bow, firing nine arrows in an instant.
Nine arrows, tracing an odd curve, were aimed at the beast’s eyes.
On the other hand, Shen Yinuo brandished her Great Sun Melting Furnace in defense.
The giant beast roared, its two front paws swinging through the air, agitating the void and compressing the air sharply into two tornadoes.
The arrows that Lu Yan had fired were deflected off course by the tornadoes and missed the mark.
The beast spewed another beam of light from its mouth, striking the Great Sun Melting Furnace, which burst open. Shen Yinuo involuntarily coughed up blood and retreated with a pale face.
Lu Yan, pulling Shen Yinuo, retreated hastily.
However, the six-legged beast caught up with them in a single leap. Its two massive claws flung down toward the pair.
"It’s over."
The single thought echoed in Lu Yan’s mind.
This beast, too powerful, was far superior to a typical third-tier Primordial Spirit.
Although his power was great, he was far outmatched by this beast.
Facing such a beast, escape seemed impossible.
"I won’t accept this."
Roaring, Lu Yan released avatars that rushed towards the beast, planning to self-destruct and buy him time.
In no time, a total of ten avatars were unleashed.
He amplified his power to its maximum. If the avatars couldn’t stop the beast, he’d resort to one last desperate move, prepared for mutual destruction.
But just then, the Dao Book within his sea of consciousness emitted a brilliant light, and a ray of light rushed out of the book, enveloping Lu Yan, and quickly spread over Shen Yinuo too.
Surprise flashed in the giant beast’s eyes, and its violent intent noticeably diminished. In a split second, it changed the direction of its claws, clawing sideways into the ground and creating two large pits.
Its eyes darted between Lu Yan and Shen Yinuo, filled with suspicion.
