Chapter 15: HHES: Chapter 15
"It’s fine, as long as Loki doesn’t mind," Netero says.
Loki doesn’t object. Pariston sits beside Netero, subtly probing Loki for information while observing his training.
After half an hour, Pariston falls silent, witnessing Loki’s terrifying progress. Initially, Loki’s Ten was good. Then, he significantly improved, locking his aura stably around his body. The aura’s flow slowed visibly.
After half an hour, Loki, while not reaching Netero’s level, has complete control over Ten. This training speed is astonishing, even to Pariston.
Netero is less surprised; he understands Loki’s talent. This progress is unexpected but acceptable. In a single day, Loki mastered Ten, Zetsu, and Ren almost perfectly. His one day of training equals months or even a year for ordinary Nen users. Netero can only describe Loki as a prodigy.
Pariston leaves, shocked. In the elevator, he recalls the scene.
"That young monster’s growth will strengthen Netero’s faction. He’s lucky to have found such a monster."
Ding!
The elevator doors open. Pariston exits, looking back.
"If the young monster and the old monster clash, it might be interesting!"
He heads to his office. Pariston enjoys causing trouble for Netero.
A week later, Loki, feeling he’s reached a plateau in the four principles, asks Netero to teach him Nen application techniques. Netero realizes that Loki’s terrifying speed isn’t the most frightening thing; it’s his immense Nen capacity. Loki’s Nen grows stronger daily. After a week, Netero finally sees his growth slow. It’s as if a seal on Loki was broken. Netero dismisses this thought.
Loki trains, his movements creating powerful air blasts. After a month, he’s mastered the four principles and application techniques. However, he’s only proficient, not masterful, and needs more training.
Netero enters the garden.
"Loki, your friends passed the Hunter Exam."
Loki stops training.
"Friends?"
"Gon and the others?"
Netero nods. "Aren’t they your friends?"
"They are... sort of. I didn’t interact with them much, but yes."
"I thought you’d be happy. You’re not acting like a kid." Netero is disappointed.
Loki has a black line on his forehead. He’s learned that older people act like children. Netero’s hobby is making Loki act like a child, which is impossible.
"Here’s your lollipop."
Loki takes the lollipop, his favorite in this world. It’s not purely sweet.
Netero smiles, betraying his serious expression. Loki glares at him. Liking lollipops doesn’t mean he’s a child.
Loki continues training. He understands that power comes from the system, but its usage depends on him. He’s serious about training, despite having the system.
Netero plans Loki’s next training phase. He wants to make Loki a pillar of the Hunter Association. He needs guidance, but a sheltered flower can’t withstand storms. He needs trials to grow. Loki has talent, strength, and attitude. He needs real combat experience. Ordinary Nen users won’t help him grow. Netero wants to create obstacles and let Loki experience failure.
Netero makes a call.
"I need a favor."
"Not murder."
"Just teach someone a lesson."
"If you refuse, I’ll come see you!"
"Stop complaining. I’ll pay you back. One billion?"
Beep beep beep...
Netero finds Loki.
"Training is temporarily over, but daily practice continues."
"Good. I want to go somewhere. Since training is over, I can go."
Loki takes off his uniform and puts on his white cloak.
"Where do you want to go?"
"Heaven Arena."
"Oh! That’s a good place."
Netero strokes his beard. Loki realized his weakness—lack of combat experience. The Heaven Arena is ideal.
"Go. But first, you must defeat someone in one place."
"Where?"
"Kukuroo Mountain."
Loki looks at Netero. He knows where it is—the Zoldyck family’s territory. Defeating someone there means fighting a Zoldyck. Netero wants to humble him. Loki agrees. He wants to fight top Nen users to assess his strength.
