Chapter 50- Handsome
The two roamed the city for a while. It was rather small, so the trip wasn’t long. Eventually, they ended up in front of a clothing store and walked in. The workers watched them oddly from afar as they roamed the store, searching for clothes to buy.
"Anything that catches your attention?" Cipha asked.
"Hmmm, I’m not really that good with clothes," Zen replied. "I could wear anything, really."
"I see..." Cipha rubbed her chin before she finally looked at a particular shirt and picked it up. Then, she picked up the pants and gave them to him. "Here, try this on."
Zen was surprised as he grabbed them and looked at them. "Are you going to dress me up, haha?"
"Since you don’t know what to choose. I might as well take the freedom of choosing it for you." Cipha replied. "Do you not want that?"
"What? Oh, no, I absolutely want it." Zen nodded vigorously. "Wait a second."
Then, he turned around and walked into the dressing area. A minute later, he pulled the curtains and walked out.
"What do you think?" Zen asked.
Cipha stared up and down. She had already noticed that Zen is a very good-looking person. But it was only at that point that she realized how truly dashing he is. He had a unique appearance that made him stand out very easily. Especially his purple eyes, which were almost ethereal in a way.
"Cipha?"
"Hm?" His voice snapped her out of her daze.
"Is it bad? I don’t know if it fits me."
"No, ehem, it is good." She nodded her head. "I think the colors fit you well."
"Really?"
"May I help you?"
As the two were talking, a female clerk approached them and asked with a nice smile on her face.
"We are just picking clothes," Cipha said.
"Oh? Absolutely, is there anything you’re looking for in particular?"
"Something elegant and practical. Oh, preferably doesn’t stand out either." Cipha explained. "Something like what he’s wearing right now."
"You absolutely look amazing, sir." The woman was taken aback by Zen for a second before she quickly tried to recover her professional smile. ’The two are gorgeous beyond reason. Are they actors? Or perhaps from their clothes... Hunters?’
She felt like she was in the presence of two important people, and it made her a bit intimidated. But, she still gathered herself and walked with Cipha to the women’s section and helped her pick several choices.
Zen tagged along as he watched silently. Then, Cipha tried these fits while he waited outside and admired her beauty in silence.
’I’ve always thought my beautiful wife is the prettiest ever... But it is such a different feeling to see her when she was young. It’s like watching a flower as it blooms.’ He smiled softly as he looked at her with admiring eyes. His heart would race every time he saw her.
"You look amazing in that dress."
"Those shorts are good."
"Ooo, I love the straw hat."
He kept complimenting her while she tried them all. He didn’t even notice time passing as he enjoyed this little show she was putting on. Eventually, the two were finally done, and they brought all the clothes they bought to the checkout.
Cipha didn’t even see how much it cost as she gave her card to be swiped. Then, the two were out of the place quickly.
"What now?" Zen asked. "We can’t stay around here."
"We will need to get some food, and then we will be out of here. I’ve already contacted my butler, and he will send us a car soon."
"Wow, already?"
"He had been trying to locate us for two days now, so when I contacted him, he was already preparing to come look for us."
"I see..."
’Talk about being quick with it.’ Zen thought to himself. ’Even if she is completely detached from the Heavensoul clan, her parents would definitely not let her just wander around without them knowing where she’s going and what she’s doing. Even now, I’m certain there are eyes that are following us.’
Zen looked around him with a suspicious look. Everyone around them could be a suspect, so this entire place, as peaceful as it looked, was never really safe.
’I doubt they would harm us, though. The Nar clan, however, won’t shut up about what happened. Luckily, it will take them a long time to figure out who did it, and that will give us time to get as far away as possible.’
With that, the two headed to a nearby restaurant that wasn’t too crowded. The two ordered food and then sat down in the corner.
"So, what do we know about our first target?" Zen asked, even though he knew the answer to that question already. But he wanted to see how much info Cipha gathered and where she got it from.
"Well, our first target is a 19-year-old male, whose name is Kaen. He is a part of a small clan of rogue Hunters who diverged from the main Heavensoul clan after some disagreements with the path the clan was heading to."
"Hmm, have you known this Kaen guy in person before?"
"I have met him a few times in the past, but we don’t have any particular connection."
"I see... And why him exactly?" Zen asked.
"Mainly his rune and also his character. He hates the Heavensouls, just like the rest of their small rogue clan. He is also highly trained from a young age, so he would instantly be a useful asset."
"And his goal aligns with ours. That’s fair and a good choice." Zen said. "Do you think he would accept easily?"
"We will have to see. It will need some convincing since he wouldn’t really trust someone like me instantly. I’m sure we can speak some reason into him."
’I already know how that went. But, I guess with me here, I will make sure it doesn’t become a stupid problem.’ He thought to himself. ’But, Cipha had really planned everything very well. Researching every target and preparing for everything... I can’t expect less of her.’
’Kaen will be crucial, but he will be equally annoying.’ He sighed. ’I can’t even blame her for choosing him.’
"Are you ok?"
"Hm, nothing," Zen said with a sigh.
Cipha stared at him confusedly, not knowing why Zen was sulking like that. But she shrugged it off and just started eating her food. She was starving, and she missed the human food.
With that, the two ate their food while chatting about different topics. They had a lot to go through in the next few days, so they needed to discuss all possibilities, including another Nar attack.
But, they both knew it wouldn’t happen today or tomorrow since they would need to even realize what happened to come after them. They had time to get ready.
What they agreed on was to be very cautious, especially when they meet with Kaen. They would definitely bring eyes to them. If they were going to attack, it might happen when they see Kaen in the next few days.
If that happened, the attack might be way worse than what happened before.
