On the table were two steaks, with one still radiating heat across from her.
Gu Liancheng pointed at it and said, "I guessed that you guys were probably done by now, so I had them make another one. It’s been an hour since lunch, do you think you can eat?"
"I can eat!" Eleven cheerfully sat down, not knowing if it was because she saw him or because of the delicious steak.
Seeing her happy made Gu Liancheng happy.
He knew she had a weakness for good food.
That Eleven loved steak was all because of him.
She used to think it was not tasty and looked down upon steak. But after Gu Liancheng took her to a good steakhouse one day, she realized it wasn’t that steak tasted bad, it was the steak she had been eating that tasted bad.
The expensive steak, served medium rare from a high-end restaurant, was just right for her.

The two of them cut and ate methodically, already used to the feeling of having a meal together.

His selected restaurants were naturally not low class, he’d just chosen a random place today and knew the taste wouldn’t compare.
Eleven chuckled, "Your cooking is still the best. How about you cook steak for me tonight? I only had a small piece last time at the kindergarten, and that wasn’t enough. I can assist you - in charge of washing dishes!"
"You flatter me so subtly," he said, though Gu Liancheng was quite pleased.
Somehow, naturally, their interactions morphed back to their old ways. Boss Gu returned to his Adonis mode and Eleven, his obedient little wife. Their interaction was natural and familiar like nothing had changed.
But what if nothing had changed?
Eleven didn’t find anything wrong with this, she was happy. So it did not matter what their actual status with each other was.
Perhaps, over these four years, they had been dating, keeping their relationship fresh and, hence, never tiring of each other.
"Going home tonight? We have those two little ones at home."
"Of course, we have to consider them too. You can’t expect us to eat while they just watch, right?"
