Chapter 251: Chapter 251: You’re Quite Good at Taking Care of Kids_1

"She just fell asleep, don’t wake her up."

Gu Liancheng swallowed back his words.

He just stood in front of Eleven, watching her tenderly look at the child, feeling the scene was too heartwarming.

He also lowered his voice and asked, "How did Cute come to be here?"

"Pfft..." Eleven found her excuse amusing, suppressed her laughter and said, "I couldn’t sleep, was little bit hungry, thought of checking if there was something to eat, and witnessed this little girl cooling herself in the fridge."

"..." Gu Liancheng was somewhat speechless, "Quite eccentric."

Having just finished a day’s work and having taken a shower, he prepared to go downstairs for a drink of water, but when he opened the door he saw this scene.

Usually, Gu Mengmeng would sleep alone in her children’s room, and the nanny would frequently check if she was sleeping peacefully. Tonight, since Shang Muxue was here, Mengmeng decided to sleep with her.

The child had run downstairs, and Shang Muxue didn’t notice. Gu Liancheng was somewhat displeased at this point.

If Eleven hadn’t come out and he hadn’t come down for a drink, wouldn’t Mengmeng have spent the whole night squatting in the fridge? She could have ended up terribly unwell by morning!

"Let me hold her."

Eleven denied his stretched out hand, shaking her head, "No problem, Cute isn’t heavy. There’s no need to pass her around. She just fell asleep, don’t wake her."

With his waist bent at the moment and looking up at Eleven, Gu Liancheng felt something different.

She knew Cute was Shang Muxue’s child, and there was obviously some undefinable relationship between Shang Muxue and him, didn’t she care about that?

Eleven felt a burning gaze on her body, at this late hour, it could only be coming from Gu Liancheng.

She lifted her gaze to see, asking, "What are you looking at?"

He did not say what he wanted to say, his eyes lightly scanned her, finally resting upon the little hand of Cute. After showering and heading to bed, Eleven was clearly not wearing any undergarments, and the plunging neckline was currently being tugged very low by Cute leaving most of the skin exposed to the open air.

"..." Eleven.

"Stop right there!!" Eleven spoke with a very soft volume, yet firmly said, "What an animal, not even able to read the situation!"

Her serious look just made Gu Liancheng laugh, tapping her head he said, "What are you thinking? Can I control what my eyes see? The child is here, what could I possibly do to you?"

"..." Eleven didn’t respond to him, but kept her gaze on Cute, "It’s worrisome when children fall ill, so young, it’s pitiful to see."

All she showed was just her concern for Cute, nothing else.

"You seem quite good with children?"

Even though she herself looked like a child.

Yes, so many years, he always saw her as a little girl. But on second thought, when he was her age, he had already experienced numerous battles in the fiercely competitive business world, dramatically speaking, he had stepped over countless defeated people to stand atop the pyramid.

"Uh..." Eleven swallowed, "Because I grew up in an orphanage. As the eldest sister, I helped the nuns look after my younger siblings."

The orphanage was the only place she ever mentioned.

"What would you like to eat?" Gu Liancheng changed the subject.

"Huh?"

"Didn’t you say you were hungry? I’ll go make you something to eat."

"There’s no need, the kitchen’s quite far."

She dared not trouble the great Boss Gu to prepare food for her.

"Not far. Over there," he gestured for her to look in a certain direction, "see the bar counter? There’ll be food there."
