Chapter 1109: Chapter 422: Summer Break Begins (Part 2)

Qin Miao: ...?

Silently gave myself a slap in my mind, Qin Miao regretted it, I really shouldn’t have asked that question.

So Qin Miao quietly prepared to get up.

Just then, mom’s voice drifted in softly: "The thread I’m using, whether it’s the texture or how comfortable it is to wear, is the best. The only downside is that it doesn’t hold up well... after a long time it doesn’t look as good."

Of course, Qin Miao understood the intention behind mom’s words; it was a hint to him, so Qin Miao quickly nodded in agreement: "Yeah, yeah, you’re right."

After that, Qin Miao escaped to the study.

At this point, Qimeng was sitting in her usual spot, wearing blue light-blocking glasses on her nose, exuding an intellectual beauty. However, Qin Miao had gotten used to seeing Qimeng like this, so he didn’t have the urge like when he first saw this side of Qimeng to rush over impulsively.

Seeing Qin Miao come in, Qimeng looked up curiously and asked, "You’ve been gone all day, caught a lot of fish, right?"

Qin Miao: ...

What’s up with the women in this family today? They’re both trying to hurt my feelings.

He lightly coughed: "I did catch quite a few fish, but they weren’t very good to eat. When I docked at the pier, I met several car enthusiasts visiting Monaco, so I gave those fish to them." Qin Miao replied, spreading his hands.

Qimeng somewhat surprised, gave Qin Miao a glance, then nodded and said, "Oh, I see, you’ve improved your fishing skills quite a bit recently."

"Alright, let’s not discuss this anymore." After complimenting Qin Miao, Qimeng changed the subject, handing over a folder from her desk to Qin Miao, saying, "Here, take a look at these."

Qin Miao’s mouth twitched: "Can’t I just relax and enjoy a summer break without doing anything?"

Qimeng mimicked Qin Miao’s shrug and said, "If you want... that’s fine, but are you sure you don’t want to see who wants to get in touch with you?"

Ultimately, Qin Miao took the folder handed to him by Qimeng, then sat down in his spot and began to review it.

First, there’s Geely, Li Shufu wants to invite Qin Miao for a meal.

Qin Miao’s eyebrows twitched; he truly couldn’t refuse this one, and it would probably require a trip back to the country.

The second matter involves CCTV, who wants to invite Qin Miao to participate in a talk show.

After all, Qin Miao’s influence among young people in the country is top-notch.

Qin Miao felt genuinely helpless about this. Although he had some achievements in F1, Qin Miao knew his own affairs best; these were the results of taking shortcuts, not from experience worth sharing with a nationwide audience. Qin Miao didn’t have the guts for it.

He didn’t know how to share all these experiences, other than promoting hard work.

So, Qin Miao took the paper out of the folder and handed it to Qimeng, saying, "Politely decline it. I really don’t want to go. The key is, you know me; if you ask me to do a post-race interview about today’s race issues, I can talk a lot.

But when it comes to areas beyond my comprehension, you know, I might be at a loss for words."

Qimeng seemed unsurprised by this and took the item from Qin Miao, placing it to the side as she awaited the next piece of information.

The following matters were mostly variety show invitations, asking Qin Miao to participate, or to take part in various activities, nothing noteworthy.

However, the commonality among these events was that they offered a lot of money, and they were all in the country.

Qin Miao ultimately didn’t keep many of these activities. For these events, Qin Miao had no other requirements, just simply whether he was interested or if he couldn’t refuse on account of the significant compensation offered.

The first was having a meal with the Geely boss.

This was a private meeting, and Qin Miao indeed wanted to chat with Geely, to see their upcoming strategic layout.

The second was to participate in a recording of ’The Life We Long For’ program once back in the country.

The program team extended an invitation to Qin Miao, and he remembered he quite liked it when he was in the country, but now being abroad, he neither had the time nor the opportunity to watch it. Still, the show left an impression in Qin Miao’s mind, fostering curiosity about how the program is recorded.

The third was an internal gathering of Mercedes 4S store owners in the country, who want to invite Qin Miao to make an appearance and deliver a speech.

Yes, just show up at the beginning, say a few words, and if possible, stand among the participants for a group photo.

Following this standard set of procedures, they offered Qin Miao a 5 million RMB appearance fee, and that’s after tax.

Qin Miao was dumbfounded upon seeing this.

He even thought for a moment that they were scammers, and feared they might refuse payment after he showed up.

Until Qimeng produced a contract in black and white, clearly outlining the obligations Qin Miao needs to fulfill and the compensation he’ll receive upon doing so.

The other side even provided half of the fee as a deposit.

...

Honestly, though Qin Miao’s concept of money has started to blur, the mere appearance fee of 5 million...

This matter fiercely refreshed Qin Miao’s understanding of how incredibly wealthy some people are.

Could their money really be blown by the wind?

Besides these three, Qin Miao had no other work to do back in the country; have a meal with Three Commentators from Five-Star Sports, meet Boss Zhou, bring some gifts — approximately all Qin Miao needed to accomplish during this summer break.

Apart from these must-dos or choosing to-dos...

The only anticipation Qin Miao truly had in this summer break was an invitation letter from BLAST organizers.

They wanted to invite Qin Miao to participate in the exhibition match before the BLAST Summer Finals.

BLAST is one of the organizations hosting CSGO competitions.

Unlike F1 or LOL, which are organized by officials, CSGO tournaments are prepared by different organizers, who only need to report to Valve to get permission for hosting an offline CSGO tournament officially recognized by Valve.

The main reason for inviting Qin Miao was for him to play a game in the exhibition match before the final, to get the crowd warmed up.

Despite this, upon seeing this, Qin Miao agreed without thinking twice.

After all, everyone in the GO community knows about Qin Miao’s love for CSGO; quite a few CSGO players, when without matches to watch, would tune into F1 races if Qin Miao was participating.

Some CSGO players started watching F1 purely because they liked Qin Miao.

And with his involvement in the F1 industry, Qin Miao naturally had no chance to appear in CSGO professional arenas.

Now given the opportunity to play CSGO on site, Qin Miao was quite excited to see how loud the cheers from the onsite audience could get if he performed impressively.

Apart from this, Qin Miao had no other arrangements in his summer break, as summer break is meant for racers to rest; some work is understandable, but too much work defeats the purpose.

After spending two days in Monaco, on the third day Qin Miao returned to the team for the last team meeting before summer break, finalizing the development direction for the car at the season’s end, and then Mercedes team officially began their summer break holiday on the Friday following the Hungarian Grand Prix.

On the first day of vacation, Qin Miao refused Toto’s invitation to be a guest at his place, instead flying directly back to the country.

He first took gifts to visit Boss Zhou.

Boss Zhou wasn’t surprised by Qin Miao’s visit, and they spent an afternoon chatting together.

The next day, Qin Miao went to Shanghai.
