Chapter 933: Chapter 747: 600 Years of Luck, Is That All?

Just like Ryan said, Gryffindor’s luck really was fantastic—not only did two of Slytherin’s main players fail to show up, the whole match was over in just twenty minutes.

The enormous point gap stunned everyone; nobody had imagined that the burly Slytherins wouldn’t score a single goal.

Ron was like a brick wall, pulling off some spectacular saves; a few were even flicked out with the very tip of his glove, bouncing off the goalposts and back out—downright miraculous.

And when the Slytherin supporters all started belting out "Weasley Is Our King," he even had the leisure to stand high above them and conduct, sarcasm cranked up to max.

By the time Conna hurried over, the crowd had already begun to leave.

"So fast?" she said, a little puzzled. Under normal circumstances, a match takes at least half an hour to finish.

"Slytherin didn’t score once; their mentality was completely shot," Kael shrugged. "They were dying for the match to end quickly. When Harry went after the Golden Snitch, he was barely interfered with at all."

"Yeah, their Beaters looked like they were sleepwalking," Mikel commented beside them. "But Kael, if today had been our match, do you think you could have scored?"

"Hard to say." Kael thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Right now I see two possibilities. One is that he just had really good hands today. In that scenario, I’d still be able to score, just not many, and it wouldn’t be enough to give us a crushing advantage."

"And the other?" Mikel asked, puzzled.

"If it’s the other possibility..." Kael paused before continuing, "then forget me— even if Moran showed up, she probably still wouldn’t be able to get the Quaffle past Gryffindor’s hoops."

Moran was a Chaser for the Moutohora Macaws and one of the most popular professional Quidditch players; at the last Quidditch World Cup, she’d led the Ireland National Team to defeat Bulgaria and take the victory.

The reason Kael put it that way was because Ron’s abnormal performance was just too bizarre; he couldn’t help thinking of the birthday present Slughorn had given him yesterday... that little vial of Felix Felici.

It fit a little too well.

Suddenly making up with Lavender... the Slytherin students arguing with him all mysteriously toppling over... two opponents suddenly withdrawing from the match... and then his Savior-level performance on the pitch.

He was basically playing like he’d toggled on a cheat code, only missing a spotlight installed over his head.

If all of that was just a coincidence, wouldn’t that be a bit too coincidental?

But then again, would anyone really use Felix Felici just for a Quidditch match?

And it wasn’t even a final—just the most run-of-the-mill house match.

Is a match like this really worth using Felix Felici on?

Kael, for one, found that impossible to believe; this wasn’t just extravagant, it was straight-up brain-dead.

"Kael, he wouldn’t have actually... taken that, would he?" Listening to the two of them, Conna had also thought of Felix Felici.

"But that’s illegal, isn’t it? Felix Felici is banned in any organized match, even if it’s just at school."

"I don’t think he would..." Kael thought it over, then said, a little uncertain, "Ron’s not an idiot. How could he blow Felix Felici on a single match win?"

Even so, Kael still felt a bit guilty. There was no helping it—based on Ron’s performance, it really was way too much like someone who’d taken Felix Felici.

"What are you talking about?" Ryan caught up from behind and asked.

"Nothing." Kael shook his head. Without solid proof, it was better not to spread this around.

What if Ron really had just gotten lucky? It wasn’t impossible.

...

By the time they got back to the castle, the surroundings had turned into a sea of scarlet and gold.

The Gryffindors were all enthusiastically celebrating their victory; shutting Slytherin out completely made them happier than celebrating Christmas all over again.

"Weasley is our King."

"He’s brave and unbeatable."

"He doesn’t let a single ball through!"

The song had morphed into yet another new version, and this time it actually fit its title perfectly—"Weasley Is Our King."

Ron had become Gryffindor’s hero, surrounded by everyone in the middle.

"If he plays this well again next time, we’re in trouble," Mikel said worriedly. "Gryffindor’s score has already overtaken ours."

"It’s fine," Kael said calmly. "We’re only a little behind; we just need to catch up."

The Quidditch match was just a brief interlude, and before long Kael stopped thinking about it and headed for the library instead.

He was still a bit curious what book Malfoy was reading.

Because everyone had only just come back from the pitch, there weren’t many people in the library yet. With just a glance, Kael spotted Malfoy sitting near one of the aisles.

He put on the look of someone going to borrow a book and strolled over as if nothing were out of the ordinary, sneaking a quick glance as he passed Malfoy’s side.

But to Kael’s disappointment, there was only a single copy of High-End Transfiguration Guide on Malfoy’s desk—a common Transfiguration Technique reference after O.W.L.s—along with a stack of Parchment at his elbow. It basically confirmed that Malfoy was doing homework.

Kael never would have thought Malfoy would actually skip a Quidditch match just to do homework.

It was honestly a bit unexpected. Since when had he become so fond of studying?
