Chapter 927: Chapter 745: Imperio
Slughorn wanted to hide what happened today, pretending as if nothing had occurred, but that was obviously impossible.
In some ways, the effect of a Love Potion is no different from the Imperius Curse; both can make a person obey orders without question.
The risk of a Love Potion might even be smaller because it has an antidote, so it’s not illegal.
And since Slughorn is a professor at Hogwarts, if he were controlled to do something, no one could imagine what would happen.
Therefore, after receiving the message sent by Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore rushed back to the school that same day.
Meanwhile, Kael and Conna were also called to the hospital wing once again.
As they arrived in the courtyard, they ran into Harry and Ron, who were just coming downstairs.
"What a coincidence," Harry said, "Did Dumbledore call you too?"
"Isn’t it obvious?" Kael replied.
"So the Headmaster is finally going to punish Romilda Vane?" Ron excitedly gestured wildly, "I went to find her today, and instead of apologizing, she accused me of stealing!"
Ron angrily waved his hand and snapped a branch from the shrubbery beside the courtyard, throwing it back as if all those branches were Romilda Vane.
Kael glanced at him,
Thinking carefully, what the other said wasn’t entirely wrong, after all, her initial target was Harry; Ron did mess up her plan?
Kael felt something was strange...
The group soon arrived at the hospital wing.
The atmosphere there was very somber, and Dumbledore stood silently, his face expressionless.
Professor McGonagall and Snape were also there, assisting Madam Pomfrey in examining Ms. Rosmerta, who lay on the bed.
Just like the two people from the morning, Ms. Rosmerta had fallen into a coma, but Kael didn’t know if it was due to the Stunning Spell.
Harry and Ron were startled by the scene, and since no one spoke, they also kept silent, standing quietly by the side.
Soon, a drunken Slughorn also arrived.
"Albus..." his voice came through the door before he entered.
"I’ve already said it was Ms. Rosmerta who used the Love Potion on me, if you have any questions, just ask her...!"
Slughorn, upon entering, suddenly froze. He too saw Ms. Rosmerta lying on the bed and momentarily didn’t know how to react.
"This is... what happened?" he instinctively said, "She must know she can’t escape, she’s just pretending..."
"So you mean, to avoid punishment, she put herself under the Imperius Curse?" Snape stood up, drawling, "Excuse me, but the punishment for that is much greater than using a Love Potion."
"What did you say?" Slughorn shuddered, sobering up significantly. "Imperius Curse?"
"Yes," Snape said, "Moreover, based on our previous observations, she was controlled as early as three months ago."
"Three months... what’s going on?" Slughorn asked in confusion.
"That’s exactly what we want to find out."
Dumbledore turned around and said calmly, but he didn’t look at Slughorn; instead, he focused on Ron.
"Oh, Mr. Weasley, I just noticed you are here too."
"Ye-yes," Ron said softly.
"Good," Dumbledore looked at him, "Can you tell me what happened this morning? Please be specific, and leave nothing out."
"Here goes..." Ron carefully recalled everything that happened in the morning.
"While picking up gifts, I accidentally mixed up a box from under Harry’s bed.
"Inside was a Chocolate Cauldron, given to Harry by Romilda Vane, but I thought it was meant for me... no, I mean, I thought it was a gift from Harry for me, so I opened it and took a bite.
"Turns out it contained a Love Potion... then Harry took me here, that dreadful Romilda Vane!"
"No, Ron, we first went to Professor Slughorn’s office," Harry added.
"Oh, right, that’s what happened."
...
Ron spoke hesitantly, while Harry helped by filling in the parts he missed.
Dumbledore listened attentively, nodding lightly only after they finished, then he looked at Kael and Conna.
"Is that so? Did you meet on the eighth floor?"
"Yes," Kael said, "We were just going to a quiet place to brew a Magic Potion."
"Why not use the dungeon classroom for potion brewing?" Snape suddenly asked, squinting, and looking at Kael with an unfriendly expression.
"There’s a magical room there that’s so much better than the dark environment of the dungeon classroom," Kael shrugged, "Dumbledore should know."
For some reason, Kael felt that Snape’s face looked even more displeased than before.
"Correct," Dumbledore said at the right moment, "Amazing, I dare say ninety percent of the students don’t know about it, it’s surprising you found it."
Snape seemed to accept this statement and retreated to the side, saying nothing more.
"Alright, everything is clear now, isn’t it?" Dumbledore said, "Mr. Weasley’s situation was just a misunderstanding, it’s unrelated to Ms. Rosmerta. If you must say, it’s just a coincidence that they experienced the same thing at the same time as Horace."
"You can go back now." Dumbledore smiled, "The kitchen prepared pepper steak today, you don’t want to miss it."
