Chapter 830: Chapter 712: Malfoy in Diagon Alley (Part 2)

Then at the shop entrance, he encountered Harry and the others coming towards him.

"No wonder I just smelled something foul," Malfoy squinted his eyes and stared at Harry snidely.

"Where’s your Mudblood friend, Potter? Too scared to come...?"

Malfoy’s words stopped abruptly as he saw someone he never wanted to meet.

"Kai, Kael..." Malfoy’s eyes flickered, "What are you doing here?"

"Of course, I’m here to shop," Kael said casually. "The school year is about to start, you can’t expect me to attend class with last year’s textbooks."

"Yes, yes, you’re right," Malfoy said, bowing his head.

For some reason, Kael felt Malfoy was acting strange today, but he couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong.

It seemed like Malfoy was feeling guilty, but why would he feel guilty upon seeing him?

Before Kael could figure it out, Harry and Ron already had their wands out.

"I’m warning you, Malfoy," Harry said angrily. "If you insult Hermione again, I’ll make you pay."

Then it got even stranger...

Normally, Malfoy would unhesitatingly retort or mock Harry, but today he seemed like a different person, not responding at all.

"You’d better have them put their wands away, Sirius."

Narcissa Malfoy stepped out from behind, glaring coldly at Sirius, "If they dare lay a finger on my son, they’ll never hold a wand again." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Oh, is that so? Then let’s see," Sirius stepped forward, shielding Harry, "Let’s see whose spell is faster."

Apparently angry, Narcissa Malfoy’s already pale face turned even more colorless.

"Mom, let’s go..." Malfoy whispered, "Don’t waste time, I still need to buy new books."

The tension between both parties was escalating.

But Narcissa Malfoy ignored him, continuing to glare at Sirius... and Kael standing next to him.

She had just heard what Malfoy said, and realized Kael’s identity.

Is it him? The one the Dark Lord wants...

Narcissa Malfoy slightly adjusted her wand.

Initiating a conflict here and taking the opportunity to kill him wasn’t a bad option, though she might get arrested by Aurors for it; at least Draco wouldn’t have to take a risk.

Thinking about it made Narcissa Malfoy’s breathing quicken.

At the same time, Kael, who had been watching, suddenly sensed an inexplicable murderous intent.

He recognized this feeling too well; it was exactly like when the Death Eaters had come after him before.

And the only ones related to Death Eaters here were two people.

"Is it aimed at me? Or everyone here?"

Not sure of the Malfoy family’s motives, but to be safe, Kael immediately gripped the wand hidden in his sleeve, while discreetly unlatching his suitcase with the other hand.

Since being attacked by three Death Eaters last time, Kael never stored his suitcase away, carrying it everywhere.

...

"Oh, please don’t, sir... madam..."

At this moment, Madam Malkin stepped out from behind the clothing rack, tape measure in hand, "I don’t want any brawls at my shop entrance. If you must, I’ll have to call the Aurors."

"Mom, let’s go," Malfoy repeated, with a trace of pleading in his voice.

Whether it was Malfoy’s words or to avoid dealing with Aurors, Narcissa Malfoy voluntarily stepped back, putting her wand away first.

She glanced at everyone in front of her, pausing on Kael.

"You can’t protect them forever, nor can Dumbledore," she hinted.

"Let’s go, Draco," she said loudly on purpose as she lifted her head, "Throw away the robe you’re wearing later. I simply cannot stand buying clothes in the same place as these riffraff... Twilfitt and Tattings has better ones."

Malfoy said nothing, following behind her, eager to leave as quickly as possible.

"What a hassle," Madam Malkin remarked, having heard her words, but she could only pretend to be indifferent and managed a weak smile at Sirius. "Still want to buy clothes?"

"Of course, this is the best place," Sirius strode into the shop, making Madam Malkin look quite relieved.

"The Malfoys are always like that, makes you want to punch them," Ron and Harry grumbled as they walked into the shop.

Kael remained in place, watching Narcissa Malfoy’s retreating figure, wand slightly raised.

If he hadn’t sensed that something was wrong by now, he might as well change his name to Ron.

Narcissa was indeed the source of the murderous intent earlier, and her target was very likely him.

He had been uncertain before, but her last gaze confirmed his suspicion.

While he couldn’t use Legilimency as a passive magic like Dumbledore, he could still make simple judgments.

Narcissa’s gaze at Harry was only filled with disdain, yet it noticeably changed when she looked at him.

Despite her well-concealed expression, Kael still noticed it.

But this was puzzling; he held no grudges against the Malfoy family, and his relationship with Draco Malfoy... although not friendly, was hardly at a point of irreconcilability.
