Chapter 810: Chapter 705: Forgetfulness Spell and the Lost Wand (Part 3)
Chris frowned.
The Forgetfulness Spell is considered an Advanced Magic Spell, and if one is not adept at it, the consequences can be severe. So typically, even Dumbledore wouldn’t perform the spell wandlessly.
What, Death Eaters? Oh, that’s alright!
After that, Kael didn’t go anywhere else and stayed in Chris’s office for a long time. When he came out, it was already evening.
"There is a lot of work piled up today, I might be a bit late getting home," Chris said, escorting Kael to the elevator door. "You should go directly to No. 12 Grimmauld Place. Molly heard you’re back and has prepared a grand birthday feast for you and Harry. Your mom will be there too.
"Oh, and remember not to mention the attack by Death Eaters to her. She doesn’t know about that yet."
"Are you sure she doesn’t know?" Kael asked.
Chris was a bit at a loss for words, "No matter what, just assume she doesn’t know."
"Alright," Kael said, "but let me clarify — if she asks why I hid it, I’m definitely going to put the blame on you."
Chris widened his eyes in disbelief, staring at Kael.
"Don’t look at me like that, I’m scared too..." Kael shrugged.
Just then, the elevator doors closed.
Since it was not yet off-hours, there weren’t many people using the elevator, and Kael quickly reached the main hall.
The area was as crowded as ever with wizards.
"Hey, Kael, when did you return..." an old wizard passing by saw Kael and warmly greeted him.
"This afternoon, Professor Tofty," Kael replied.
The man was from the Wizard Examination Board, and during his O.W.L.s, he was responsible for invigilating Kael’s Charm, Astronomy, and Magic History exams.
"Oh, Kael?" At this point, another familiar face approached.
It was Lupin.
He had finally changed out of that faded and patched robe, donning a very fitting dark blue robe.
He quickly stepped next to Kael.
"Thank you, I’ve heard everything from Sirius..." He seemed a bit excited, "I never thought one day I’d be able to work at the Ministry of Magic, and as an Auror, no less."
"No need for such courtesy, Professor Lupin," Kael smiled and said, noting Lupin had someone bundled up tightly with him, curiously asking, "What are you up to?"
"Oh, yet another false reward claimant," Lupin responded calmly, "This one’s from Knockturn Alley. Just now, he used Polyjuice Potion to disguise himself, and tried to claim Galleons with some robes enchanted with a Freezing Charm.
"According to protocol, I have to escort him to the detention room."
The detention room, the place where Dementors reside, could be described as the Ministry’s temporary Azkaban.
Those captured Dark Wizards, and those attempting to pass off fake items are all held in there.
"How much fake stuff did he bring," Kael asked.
"Thirty pieces," Lupin replied.
"Three thousand Galleons..." Kael glanced at the wizard, "He’s got quite the appetite."
"So he must stay there for thirty days, in the company of Dementors," Lupin said.
At the mention of Dementors, the previously calm wizard started struggling.
"Release me, let me go... I won’t go, I don’t want to be locked up with Dementors."
"It’s not your decision," Lupin gently waved his wand, and several ropes floated out, tightly binding the man.
"I’m begging you..." the man pleaded, "As long as you don’t lock me with Dementors, I’ll do anything!"
"Unless you’re willing to buy off your fake goods," Lupin glanced at him, "One piece a day, the details are clearly written out, no need for me to explain further, right?"
"But you didn’t say there’d be Dementors there!" the man shouted, but the people around seemed accustomed to the scene, barely giving it a glance before returning to their tasks.
"Oh, the Dementors were caught and locked up there too," Lupin said, "Odd, a lot of people in Knockturn Alley know this, yet no one told you?"
The man fell silent, then stamped his feet in anger, swearing, "Damn it, those bastards, scum, filthy fools..."
Nonetheless, Lupin didn’t pay much attention to this, dragging him away.
"See you later then, Kael."
"See you later," Kael waved.
