Chapter 2088: Chapter 595: Uneasy (3)
Qin Mu reported softly.
"Oh?"
The two old men looked at him again.
"As juniors, we should know to make room for the grandpas. Come on, let me toast the two grandpas first."
The two old fellows were tempted to drink, yet they only picked up their teacups; neither of them drank alcohol because the two girls wouldn’t allow it.
"What’s happening? Why aren’t the two grandpas, who are such avid drinkers, drinking? What’s the fun in just eating?"
Gongzhi Ping’an, seeing the situation, guessed something and turned to find the waiter.
"Gongzhi, don’t make trouble. The grandpas are not feeling well, they can’t drink today."
Helian Hao quickly stopped him.
"So that’s it, I apologize for speaking wrongly, and I’ll toast myself a cup as punishment."
Gongzhi Ping’an remained polite and composed.
"You kid, what are you being so courteous for? Just sit down or go join your friends."
Old Man from Mu Family scolded him, displeased.
"I have some friends over there; I’ll come visit the two grandpas another day to pay my respects. I’ll take my leave!"
Gongzhi Ping’an respectfully finished speaking, and then gave Helian Hao and Qin Mu a look before leaving after saying goodbye.
Helian Hao picked up the phone on the table and sent Qin Mu a WeChat: "He’s been looking at you."
Qin Mu replied: "Don’t talk nonsense!"
"Hmph! Ever since he came back, he hardly attended any gatherings with Jing Feng and Mu Yichen. You think I’m really talking nonsense?"
Qin Mu looked at Helian Hao’s message and didn’t reply, just raised her eyes and sighed helplessly.
If it wasn’t to make the grandpas happy today, she wouldn’t have reconnected with Gongzhi Ping’an.
If her husband found out...
Qin Mu thought, I don’t care about what Gongzhi Ping’an thinks; I just fear my husband will get jealous again. Just thinking of his sour little look makes my heart ache.
——
Mu Yichen was having a meal with Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai, both of whom were watching him, forbidding him from texting Qin Mu. The reason was he sent too many WeChats to Qin Mu every day, making himself too humble, causing Qin Mu to be cocky. So Mu Yichen kept swiping at his phone screen, desperately restraining himself.
"You were out with her in the morning, came home together in the afternoon, and still had to call or text her at lunch. Why should us men cling to women so much?"
Qiao Yi poured him a drink while speaking.
Mu Yichen frowned and gave him a disdainful look.
"Don’t you want updates about Xi Meng all the time?"
Zhao Huai couldn’t help but ask him, though he didn’t approve of Mu Yichen texting Qin Mu all the time, yet he felt none of them were really that cold-hearted.
Qiao Yi was about to drink when he heard Zhao Huai’s words and frowned in displeasure, sighing: "Bro, Xi Meng and I, and Yichen with Qin Mu, our situations are completely different."
Mu Yichen shook his head helplessly, very much disagreeing with Qiao Yi’s opinion.
"Although I don’t support Yichen always taking the initiative to contact Qin Mu, to be honest, I don’t see it as a big deal. In relationships, usually one person is obsessed while the other is indifferent; it’s impossible for both to be constantly considering the other so attentively."
Zhao Huai sighed while holding his wine glass, thinking that his classmate Xiaomei was just like that, acting on impulse without considering his feelings, yet he liked it even more.
Mu Yichen thought Zhao Huai’s words were quite interesting, yet somehow he felt a bit uncomfortable. His wife, though much better than before, was indeed quite indifferent, while he... was he the obsessed one Zhao Huai spoke of?
"I never thought our relationship would concern you two so much, I’m really..."
Mu Yichen was at a loss for words, thinking that messaging my wife had nothing to do with you all. But unable to restrain himself, he placed his phone securely in his palm, unlocked it with his fingerprint, opened WeChat, and messaged Qin Mu.
"Is everything going smoothly with the grandpas?"
Being worried about her was something he couldn’t control.
Qin Mu was listening intently to the old man’s stories from the past and heard the phone alert, glanced at it, and saw it was from Mu Yichen before replying: "Hmm!"
With just one word, others might find it perfunctory, even though she did mean it somewhat perfunctorily, very genuinely.
But to Mu Yichen, this single word was enough to make him feel relieved.
As if, from childhood, as long as she responded to him, he felt deeply moved.
Frankly, he really felt this was pathetic, yet thinking about it, he was content with his own happiness.
