Chapter 1982: Chapter 568: Concealment (3)
"Mr. Qin and Mr. Zhao are here! Young Master!"
The auntie said softly outside. Qin Mu got up and then turned to see Mu Yichen still sleeping. She gently called him, although she felt uneasy after telling him about Yang Qin’s call before lunch. But there were some things she had to endure even if they made her uncomfortable. Later, they still had to eat and sleep together. Qin Mu saw that he didn’t move, so she gently pushed him: "Yichen?"
"I guess Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi have arrived; are you sure you don’t want to go down?"
Qin Mu softly asked him, guessing that he would definitely hear her.
"Mmm! You go handle it for me."
Mu Yichen responded, his voice still showing discomfort.
Qin Mu guessed he might not have slept well last night while taking care of her. He had finally fallen asleep, but now Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai had come over, probably having heard about Mu Yichen’s injury. Grandpa was downstairs, and she didn’t dare to delay. She immediately lifted the quilt and got out of bed.
"Young Madam!"
The auntie greeted her promptly as she came out.
Qin Mu nodded her head and asked softly, "Is it Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi?"
"Yes!"
The auntie responded.
Qin Mu sighed lightly, already having anticipated this. She went downstairs in a casual ankle-length dark blue dress, her long hair scattered on her back.
Her face looked paler but appeared more haggard.
However, her eyes seemed sharper.
After Qin Mu went downstairs, the two people looked up at her, their brows furrowing. Qiao Yi guessed that Mu Yichen was probably seriously injured, unable to come downstairs?
Zhao Huai also felt uneasy, looking at Qin Mu with anxiety.
But Qin Mu found it amusing, wondering if these two even understood the situation?
"You youngsters chat among yourselves. I’m going back to the room to read the newspaper."
The old man, seeing Qin Mu come down, got up and went back to his room, followed by Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi with their eyes.
Later, the three sat on the sofa, and the auntie served tea. Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai finally couldn’t hold back anymore.
"I heard from Yang Qin that Chen got seriously injured yesterday? Twelve stitches?"
Zhao Huai spoke first, his face full of chill due to concern for his elder brother.
"Mmm!"
Qin Mu replied.
"Oh my! Is that true? Is Yichen... is he upstairs now? Can he still move?"
Qiao Yi stuttered nervously, a bit incoherent.
"Did you only hear from Yang Qin that he had twelve stitches? Did you hear where he got injured?"
Qin Mu glanced behind them to make sure the old man had closed the door properly before asking them softly.
The two exchanged a glance and looked at Qin Mu, bewildered.
"The elders in the family are unaware of Yichen’s injury. It’s not as serious as you think. His arm was stitched with twelve stitches, and he has a slight fever today."
Qin Mu explained further.
Upon hearing that the family elders didn’t know, Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai dared not speak loudly, talking in hushed voices like Qin Mu.
"So how is he now?"
Qiao Yi asked.
"He’s asleep upstairs! I also had a fever last night; he was injured himself and didn’t sleep much all night. That’s why he didn’t go to work today."
Qin Mu explained softly yet clearly.
The two brothers finally felt relieved.
"You didn’t even ask clearly before calling me!"
Qiao Yi complained to Zhao Huai.
"I was scared by what Yang Qin said; I didn’t have time to ask more details."
Zhao Huai said awkwardly, lowering his head.
"Yichen doesn’t want the elders to worry, so don’t mention this in front of them."
Qin Mu thought for a moment and reminded them.
"Mmm! Well, since Yichen is alright, we won’t disturb you further. You still look quite weak; enjoy your time together. We’ll take our leave."
Qiao Yi spoke, standing up, and Zhao Huai did the same.
"Auntie’s tea hasn’t been touched!"
Qin Mu said, chuckling lightly, seeing how hurriedly they came and went, feeling a bit apologetic as their little sister.
Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi quickly drank the tea and then left.
After Qin Mu watched them leave, she went back upstairs. Mu Yichen was still sleeping.
She sat by the bedside, sighed softly, gently stroked his hair, and quietly watched him.
They were quite lucky, having so many people who cared for them.
Reflecting on the past few years back in the city, Qin Mu felt she’s really had diverse experiences and gained much.
Mu Yichen reached out and wrapped her slim waist, continuing to sleep.
——
The old man came out of his room and softly asked the auntie, "Did you hear anything?"
The auntie naturally heard but being part of the help, since the young madam didn’t want the elders to worry, she shook her head: "Seems like Young Master is a bit rebellious, ignoring such a big business to sleep at home."
The old man furrowed his brows: "Mmm! That’s indeed wrong of him. Although the family isn’t short of money now, it’s not proper to ignore such a big business."
"But Young Master has a slight fever!"
The auntie reminded him again.
The old man nodded again: "It’s best not to interfere in young people’s matters. Forget it, I’ll continue reading my news!"
"Then I’ll make you another pot of tea!"
The auntie smiled as she spoke to him.
"Mmm! Make the same kind those two young men just drank; I haven’t had that yet!"
The old man nodded, muttering.
The auntie smiled and went about her duties, while he walked back to the sofa, sat in his usual spot, and turned the TV back on to the channel he had been watching.
——
After dark.
Huanhuan finished her homework and clamored to see her dad. Feng Fanghua couldn’t stop her, and she opened the door herself and entered her parents’ room. Seeing the person still sleeping on the bed, she ran over, jumped onto him: "Daddy!"
"Ah! Ahem! Mu Chenghuan!"
Mu Yichen woke up immediately, his face pale, brows tightly furrowed, raising his daughter off him, and then opened his eyes in pain.
Huanhuan looked at her daddy seeming to be in pain, blinked her innocent big eyes and asked: "Daddy, what’s wrong with you?"
