Chapter 1973: Chapter 566: Mu Always Finds Blessings Amidst Misfortune

"Wait a moment!"

She still softly, gently patted his shoulder to let him sit properly and said to him.

Mu Yichen leaned back into the sofa, his dark eyes staring straight at the frail Mrs. Mu.

Now, whatever she says, he listens!

He just wanted to listen to her, even if she was so weak and it wasn’t even a command, at most a reminder.

She went to find a coat to drape over her shoulders, and then went out the door.

Mu Yichen looked at her, and somehow felt like he was blessed in disguise.

Soon she came back with someone in tow, their family doctor.

"No wonder Mrs. Mu reminded me over the phone to bring enough tools for treating external wounds."

"Simple bandaging won’t work, stitches are needed."

The doctor in his fifties said to him and quickly took out tools from the toolbox.

Qin Mu stood by the sofa, holding herself with one hand and biting her nails with the other, not daring to look. Earlier in the bathroom, she only took a glance to describe the injury when calling the doctor, and now upon hearing the doctor, she looked again.

He was in pajama pants, wearing a T-shirt on top. The air conditioning in the room was turned up high; both of them gradually warmed up. The doctor, experienced with such traumas, handled it skillfully. Qin Mu didn’t know how many steps the doctor took, but she clearly heard every sound of the cold instruments being put down and picked up again from the sterilization tray.

But there was no sound of Mu Yichen crying out in pain.

Mu Yichen sat on the sofa the whole time, not once looking at his wound, only watching Mrs. Mu frowning as if she were the one getting stitches, involuntarily feeling warm inside.

"Go blow-dry your hair!"

When the doctor was somewhat angrily stitching up Mu, Mu casually said this to his wife.

Qin Mu looked at him in surprise, doubting her ears.

Even the doctor thought he must have been attending to someone else.

"You two really have a great relationship."

The doctor smiled and said, thinking of how on the phone, she sounded choked thinking he was bleeding to death, yet he was now caring for her.

But the doctor glanced at Qin Mu’s face, noticing she indeed didn’t look too well.

"Mrs. Mu seems to have caught a cold, perhaps it would be good to make some ginger tea to warm up."

The doctor kindly suggested.

Qin Mu glanced at the doctor, then at Mu Yichen: "Can he have some too?"

"He’s injured, better not to have ginger and such things for now."

The doctor advised again.

"Then I don’t need it either! I’ll take some medicine later!"

Qin Mu still hadn’t warmed up, feeling chilly and numb, but she didn’t want to leave, didn’t dare look at his wound, but also didn’t want to leave. She knew he wouldn’t cry out in pain, but she felt she should stand there.

For instance, from the moment he started being disinfected, he kept watching her, making Qin Mu feel she was useful to him.

The doctor didn’t say much more.

But Mu Yichen slowly leaned in and softly said to her: "Come sit beside me!"

Qin Mu’s eyes grew warm at his summoning, tears almost spilling out, and then she held herself and walked over, sitting on the other side.

Fortunately, his right arm wasn’t injured. As soon as she sat down, his arm reached over, wrapping her shoulders and stroking her arm firmly.

The doctor frowned slightly, not too pleased that the patient lost so much blood and was getting stitches yet seemed not to take it seriously.

Mu Yichen didn’t care about his wound; he just wanted to warm her up. If the doctor weren’t there, he would’ve kissed her already, seeing her stubborn little expressions, clearly worried sick about him yet pretending to stay calm, making him want to kiss her and render her soft.

But the doctor’s boundaries with the couple’s matters prevented him from saying anything more. Fortunately, Mu Yichen eventually calmed down, letting the doctor continue his work.

As the doctor was finishing up, he laughingly said: "Mrs. Mu also told me to bring blood bags. Thankfully we didn’t need them. You should know what precautions to take now, right?"

"Mm!"

Mu Yichen got up to see him out; the doctor nodded, as their long acquaintance meant he didn’t stand on ceremony: "Get some good rest, no need to see me out."

"Mm! But I still need to trouble you with one more thing!"
