Chapter 81 - Not Letting Go

Chapter 81- Not Letting Go

Tyler's POV

I shuffled in my seat, watching Logan march toward me with that same aggressive energy he had been carrying all day.

What the hell does he want now?

If he was coming to transfer the anger Mr. Collin's refusal on me, then he better think twice. I wasn't the one who forced him to be my partner — Mr. Collin's did. If he wanted to bark at anyone, he should go and bark at Mr. Collin's, not me.

I leaned back in my seat, pretending to be unbothered as he got closer. But with each step, the tension around him only grew thicker, like his anger was rising with every movement.

I took a deep breath and braced myself.

Whatever Logan had coming my way... I was ready.

He finally stopped in front of me, his eyes glaring down like he wanted to murder me right here.

"We're having the meeting at your house."

That was the first thing that came out of his mouth.

No hello.

No "Hey, partner."

Straight to the point.

I arched my brow, trying to act like I wasn't affected by his sudden attitude.

"Why my house? Why can't we have the meeting at your place?"

Logan's jaw clenched. His eyes darkened.

"Because I said so."

He crossed his arms, his muscles flexing through the sleeves of his shirt. "Where the meeting will be held isn't any of your business. Your house is the final decision."

I should have been pissed off by the way he was talking to me like I was some errand boy, but instead... I was kind of enjoying this little back-and-forth.

At least he was finally talking to me.

After hours of silent treatment and weird cold shoulders, hearing his voice — even if it was filled with irritation — was better than him ignoring me.

I leaned forward on my desk, a small smirk tugging at my lips.

"We're team members, Logan," I said calmly. "It's not just your decision. I have a say too. You don't get to boss me around."

Logan's eyes flickered, and I could see the frustration boiling beneath the surface.

"If you have a better suggestion, then spit it out," he said through gritted teeth. "Where do you want the meeting to hold?"

His voice was low... and filled with anger.

I could see he was trying to hold himself together, but something inside him was ready to snap.

Logan turned to leave, but before he could walk past me, my hand shot out, grabbing his wrist.

"Wait."

He froze on the spot, his muscles tensing under my grip. I could feel how hard he was trying to pull away, but I tightened my hold — refusing to let him go.

Not this time.

I deserved an explanation.

He's been acting cold towards me the whole day — throwing sharp glares and snapping at me every chance he got. And the worst part? I had no fucking idea what I did wrong.

Even when I told him at my dad's house that what happened between us was nothing but lust... even when I hurt him with those words... Logan wasn't this angry.

So why now?

Why does he suddenly hate me like I killed someone close to him?

Or... was it because of Naomi?

The thought alone made my chest tighten.

"Tyler..." His voice was low, and there was something dangerous in the way he said my name. When I looked into his eyes, they were red — burning with suppressed anger.

"With all due respect... could you let me go?"

He tried to sound calm, but his clenched jaw and the way his Adam's apple bobbed gave him away.

"No." I tightened my grip, my heart pounding harder in my chest.

"Not until you tell me what's happening... and why you're so fucking angry at me."

Logan's lips curled into a smirk — one that didn't reach his eyes. Instead, it screamed bitterness.

"You really want to know why I'm angry?" He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice so only I could hear.

"Do you remember what you told me that night? That me liking you is my cross to carry?"

"If you don't want that cross to become yours in this very instant... and for the whole school to know what you did in secret..."

"Then let me go. Now."

I blinked, then... I laughed.

A sharp, dry laugh that echoed between us.

"Really, Logan? Is that supposed to scare me?" I smirked, looking him dead in the eye.

"You can do better than that."

His nostrils flared, and I could see his hands balling into fists at his sides.

"Say whatever you want... make all the threats you need to — but I'm not letting you go until you tell me what the hell I did wrong."

I could tell I was pushing him to the edge — but I didn't care.

He was angry at me for no reason, and I needed to know why.

"Tyler..." His voice was strained now, barely holding in his frustration.

"I'm not interested in telling you anything. Besides, weren't you the same person who told me you wanted nothing to do with me?"

"So why are you suddenly acting like you care now?" He scoffed bitterly.

"Let me go... and leave me the fuck alone."

I clenched my jaw, refusing to let him walk away.

"I'm not leaving you alone, Logan." My voice came out low, firm.

"Not until you talk to me."

I could feel people's eyes on us — the curious stares from the students around the class, whispering under their breath.

Logan smirked again, his lips curving into that devilish smile that always made my heart race.

"See? People are already looking at us. Do you really want them to start suspecting something?"

He was trying to intimidate me — trying to make me back down.

But what he didn't know was that I didn't give a fuck about what anyone thought right now.

I leaned closer, staring straight into his burning eyes.

"What you fail to understand is... I don't care about the rumors."

I could see how his eyes widened for a split second — like he didn't expect me to say that.

"All I want is to talk to you." My voice dropped lower, almost a whisper.
