Chapter 682: Chapter 453: Tianyun Seventh Prince, Reunion with the Duobao Maiden
At dawn, two carriages arrived at Bandar City, and Su Mu instructed the convoy to disperse and return to the Nine Cities.
In Su Mu’s arms, Xiaoluo had not yet awakened. The current state was not due to illness, but because Xiaoluo was unwilling to wake up. This situation reminded Su Mu of his wife Miaomiao, evoking a tinge of sorrow in his eyes.
The reason he wanted to return to Bandar City instead of another city had its considerations.
Bandar City was the place where he initially awoke, meaning it was close to the original location when he first crossed into the Otherworld. Though Su Mu had sent many members of the Alien Race to search these days, they hadn’t found many clues.
But now that he found Xiaoluo, if he wanted to find clues about the Flesh, starting from here seemed most likely.
That’s why he chose to wait here for Yuri’s arrival.
At noon, when Xiaoluo awoke and saw an unfamiliar ceiling, she immediately curled up, her face showing fear, as two figures approached, one large and one small.
Xiaoluo glanced stealthily and quickly recognized the smaller figure as the child who was locked in the same cage with her.
Instantly, her fear diminished slightly.
The other figure slowly removed the hood obscuring their face, revealing a gaunt face that made Xiaoluo tremble all over.
"Is it you?"
"Yes, Xiaoluo, don’t be afraid, everything is over."
Xiaoluo felt joy, but just for a few seconds before she couldn’t help bursting into tears, with Su Mu gently patting her back, tears soaking their clothes.
"The convoy... they’re dead... Daddy and the others are dead, they’re all dead, only Xiaoluo is left..."
"Cry, crying will make you feel better. Xiaoluo, don’t be afraid. I will protect you; no one can hurt you. I will avenge you."
"Okay."
Xiaoluo responded, her teary eyes looking up, then crying louder, and soon after, she fell into a deep sleep.
"You are a strange person."
Silently throughout the journey, Xiaomo suddenly spoke.
"Just have a clear conscience."
A clear conscience?!
Xiaomo repeated these four words, slightly understanding, yet confused.
In the night, Xiaoluo awoke again, and Su Mu arranged for a table of dishes to be prepared. After ravenously devouring the meal, her small belly, pressed against her chest and back, became round, and she felt a bit embarrassed looking at the plate in front of her.
"Xiaoluo, can you tell me what happened?"
Xiaoluo trembled as if shocked, instinctively trying to curl up to evade, but a warm large hand fell on her head.
The roughness of the palm and its warmth made Xiaoluo’s eyes brim with tears; Daddy always loved to rub Xiaoluo’s head.
But now, Daddy is dead...
"Don’t be afraid; I won’t let anyone harm Xiaoluo again... Xiaoluo’s enemies are my enemies. I’ll help you avenge."
Amidst sobs, Xiaoluo intermittently recounted what happened.
That day, Xiaoluo begged Daddy to take her to the Beast Fighting Arena to see Su Mu, but was refused. Later, the convoy headed north, purchasing some goods along the way to be sold in Loris City for Spirit Stones.
The trip, though rugged, was relatively smooth until nearing Loris City, misfortune struck as the convoy collided with fugitives seemingly chased by pursuers.
The convoy, unwilling to get involved, continued towards Loris City, but soon the pursuers came asking for information, and though the convoy answered truthfully, they met a brutal end.
The Alien Race pursuers nearly slaughtered the entire convoy. Xiaoluo fainted from terror, witnessing her father being killed. Upon awakening, she found herself caged and abused.
"Xiaoluo, do you trust me?"
"Yes, Xiaoluo trusts you. You’re a good person, just like Daddy..."
A good person?
Su Mu questioned himself as no good person, having killed many, including a convoy of nearly a hundred not long ago.
Just like Daddy.
This sentence touched Su Mu internally; he was also a father, and the image of his daughter Xiaoyue surfaced in his mind.
"Xiaoluo, relax now and close your eyes; leave everything to me."
Xiaoluo complied, as Su Mu concentrated, controlling Desolate Thought, quickly seeing through Xiaoluo’s memories the images of the fugitives, among them was Xiaomo.
Regarding the pursuers, they were enveloped in black clothing, exposing no useful information.
Su Mu slightly furrowed his brows until the memory was about to cut off at the last moment, Xiaoluo faintly heard the pursuers’ conversation.
[The master has ordered that the Seventh Prince be killed; we continue pursuing...]
Then a sudden scream echoed.
The memory ended there.
After viewing Xiaoluo’s memories, Su Mu’s eyes flickered; the last scream contained Qi Blood Power, undoubtedly from the pursuers. This group seemed disparate, possibly engaging in internal conflict.
Master?
Xiaomo was the Seventh Prince of the Celestial Cloud Kingdom, likely pursued by people of the kingdom, with this so-called master likely being from the Celestial Cloud Royal Family.
According to Xiaoluo and Xiaomo’s experience, the pursuers most likely caught up to Xiaomo, yet both lived, indicating they didn’t kill Xiaomo.
Yet why did they end up as auction items?
Was it an act of protection?
Perhaps the intention was for the hidden Alien Race Alliance to intervene, but unexpectedly, Su Mu became a variable.
