Chapter 289: Chapter 231: The Shadow Project Launches, the Old-Timers Make Things Difficult

The next morning at 9:00 AM, Celestial Craft Group Headquarters.

As one of the Gaia Alliance’s premier technological titans, the Celestial Craft Group’s headquarters towered like a silver sword piercing the clouds, exuding an air of futurism.

Han Feng wore the crisp uniform of an A Level Student from the Martial Arts University. Its special silver fabric seemed to flow and shimmer in the sunlight, and the newly acquired Honorary Major insignia on his chest gleamed brilliantly.

The moment he stepped out of his private car, he immediately drew the gazes of everyone passing by.

"Is that... an A Level Student from East Sea Martial Arts University?"

"Look at that rank—Honorary Major! Good heavens, so young?"

"I recognize him! He’s Han Feng! The monster from the Secret Realm trial!"

The surrounding murmurs weren’t loud, but they reached Han Feng’s ears with perfect clarity.

His expression remained calm. He paid the stares no mind and walked straight through the main entrance.

Guided by an intelligent system, he took a dedicated elevator directly to the No. 3 Research Institute, located three hundred meters up in the sky.

The elevator doors opened, and a complex scent—a mixture of metal, Energy, and expensive tea—wafted out to greet him.

In the corridor, researchers bustled past, each wearing the characteristic air of arrogance common to intellectuals.

When they saw Han Feng, their expressions turned peculiar.

There was curiosity and scrutiny, but more than anything, there was an unconcealed disdain.

Clearly, news that a Martial Arts student had been parachuted in as the chief technical advisor for an SSS Level project had already spread throughout the institute.

A middle-aged man in a manager’s uniform approached him, a professional smile fixed on his face.

"Hello, you must be Advisor Han Feng, correct?

I’m the administrative secretary for the project team. I’ll take you to the conference room. Everyone has already arrived."

Han Feng nodded and followed him through a series of complex corridors, finally stopping before a heavy alloy door.

The door read: ’Ghost’ Project Team · Conference Room 1.

"Advisor Han, please." The secretary pushed the door open.

Inside was a conference room so spacious it bordered on luxurious.

Around a long conference table sat a dozen or so people.

Every one of them was a top expert from East Sea City in fields like materials science, Rune engineering, and Energy engines.

Sitting at the head of the table was an elderly man with white hair and a refined, scholarly air—Professor Wu Zhen, a Second Level professor at the Celestial Craft Institute.

Beside him sat several core members of the project team, including the fiery-tempered engine expert, Engineer Ma, and the A Level engineer in black-framed glasses, Li Zhen.

Chen Kai was also there, sitting in an inconspicuous corner and shooting a gloating look at the doorway.

On the other side, a middle-aged man with a composed demeanor, Li Mo, also glanced over, his eyes resting on Han Feng for a brief moment.

The moment Han Feng walked in, the previously suppressed chatter in the room vanished instantly, and all eyes converged on him.

"Heh, this must be the student Han Feng, personally nominated by Vice Dean Chen. Truly a young prodigy. A hero in the making,"

Professor Wu Zhen was the first to stand, offering a hand with a cordial smile on his face.

Han Feng gave it a light shake and released it, calmly sweeping his gaze over everyone present.

"Please, sit, Advisor Han."

Wu Zhen gestured to the seat next to the head of the table, which had been specially prepared for him.

"Today is our project team’s first official meeting. The main purpose is for you to meet everyone and to get a basic overview of the project."

Han Feng didn’t sit. He simply stared at the professor impassively.

Unfazed by the snub, Wu Zhen simply continued,

"Our ’Ghost’ project is critical to East Sea City’s aerial strategy for the next decade, and the responsibility is immense.

Everyone here has been working on this for years. They’re all project veterans."

His tone shifted as he turned to Li Zhen, who sat beside him.

"Xiaoli, didn’t you prepare a welcoming gift for Advisor Han? Go on, bring it out."

Li Zhen took the cue at once. He stood up and placed a military-grade data terminal, which was pulsing with a faint blue light, on the table in front of Han Feng.

His face held a hint of smugness he couldn’t quite suppress.

"Advisor Han, it’s a pleasure. Just a small token of our respect."

Li Zhen pushed up his glasses and began to explain in a tone of mock humility,

"This contains all of our project’s technical documentation, lab reports, materials data, and Rune Matrix models from the last five years."

"We’ve compiled it all to help you get up to speed on the project as quickly as possible.

The data volume isn’t huge—only about three terabytes."

He deliberately emphasized the last two words, "three terabytes."

A ripple of stifled laughter spread through the conference room.

For an ordinary person, three terabytes of data would be impossible to get through in a lifetime, even if they did nothing but read it day and night.

Even for professionals like them, it would take a large team months to process it all.

They had dumped this on Han Feng for the sole purpose of watching him flounder, completely at a loss.

Before Han Feng could react, the engine expert, Old Ma, stood up as well. He wore an expression of "deep concern" and held a thick blueprint.

"Advisor Han, you’re a Martial Arts genius. Your Spiritual Power must be far beyond any of ours.

As it happens, I have a technical problem here that our entire engine team has been stuck on for three months. Perhaps you could give us your expert opinion?"

He unrolled the blueprint, revealing an intricate Rune Array, so densely packed with complex details it was enough to make one’s head spin.

"It’s this energy dissipation issue with the ’superconducting magnetofluid nozzle.’ You see, its harmonic frequency just won’t sync with the main engine’s Rune core, which is causing an Energy loss of over three percent..."
