Chapter 421: Chapter 421: Blood Wolf Order
"Understood."
The communication ended.
Qiao Zonghan stood in the camp, silent for a long time as he gazed at the dark red sky.
He knew that from this day forward, the hunting game on the Star Realm Battlefield had officially begun.
And Xu Wuyi was the first hound to bare its fangs.
「At the same time, at the Celestial Wolf Civilization headquarters on Wolf God Mountain.」
The atmosphere in the council hall was even more oppressive than last time.
Nine Divine Beings sat around a round table made of bone, each of their faces dark enough to drip water.
Gru, the head of intelligence, stood before the round table, his single eye flashing with cold fury.
"The reports have been confirmed." His voice was hoarse. "Outposts Seven, Eight, and Nine in the East Third District were successively destroyed within six hours. All seven Priests stationed there were killed in action. We’ve lost over two hundred War Generals and warriors."
"Who did it?" The Divine Being in the second seat to the right, a brawny Werewolf, slammed his fist on the table. "How many troops did the humans send this time? One Battle Group? Or two?"
Gru was silent for two seconds, then uttered two words: "One person."
The council hall fell deathly silent in an instant.
"One person?" The voice of the tattooed Divine Being to the left shot up. "Gru, are you sure you’re not mistaken? How could one person possibly destroy three outposts in six hours? And with Quasi-Grandmasters stationed on the flanks?!"
"There’s video." Gru summoned a screen of light.
The footage was extracted from the surviving surveillance equipment at Outpost Nine. It was a bit blurry, but a human figure was clearly visible.
The person wore dark combat gear with a long spear strapped to his back. His face was covered by a tactical mask, making his features impossible to discern.
But when he raised his hand and released a dark-gold Flame, instantly vaporizing the Bone Saber Priest, the pupils of every Divine Being contracted at once.
"That Flame..." Uhmong began, his voice icy. "Celestial Wolf Four."
Gru nodded. "The Energy signature is a perfect match. The attacker is the same human Martial Artist who killed Batu and Har on Celestial Wolf Four."
"Wasn’t he at Great Success in Heart Image?" The Divine Being in the second seat to the right frowned. "How much time has passed? How did he already break through to the Innate realm?"
"He’s no ordinary Innate." Gru brought up the Energy analysis data. "According to the last transmission from Outpost Seven, this human Martial Artist’s Life Energy Level is around 41. But he uses some kind of special technique to amplify his attack power to over Level 45."
He paused before adding, "Furthermore, his combat style is extremely strange. No contact is needed, no charging up. As long as a target is within his perception, he can directly detonate the Energy inside their body. The forty-plus warriors at Outpost Seven were all killed simultaneously by this ability, their heads exploding."
The council hall fell silent once more.
After a long while, Uhmong slowly raised his head.
"Where is he now?"
"Based on his last known trajectory, he should still be in the East Third District," Gru said. "But given his cautious nature, he has likely already relocated."
Uhmong uttered a single word: "Find."
Gru froze for a moment. "Chief, you mean..."
"Issue the ’Blood Wolf Order’." Uhmong’s voice was cold as iron. "A bounty of one hundred thousand merit points for his capture, alive. If he can’t be taken alive, kill him on sight. Bringing back the body will suffice."
A series of low gasps could be heard throughout the council hall.
The Blood Wolf Order was the Celestial Wolf Civilization’s highest-level kill order. The last time it was issued, the target had been a Quasi-Grandmaster from the Federation.
And now, Uhmong was using the Blood Wolf Order again, all for a Level 41 human Innate.
Of course, such a kill order was only meant for enemies below the Grandmaster level; it was difficult to organize an effective hunt against beings on the level of Grandmasters or Divine Beings.
"Chief, is this..." The tattooed Divine Being to the left tried to interject.
But Uhmong cut him off.
"This man must die." Uhmong’s scarlet eyes swept over all the Divine Beings. "He killed two of our Priests on Celestial Wolf Four, and now he has killed seven more on the Star Realm Battlefield. If we allow him to continue growing, he will become a grave threat to the Celestial Wolf Civilization’s future."
"But to issue the Blood Wolf Order, we’ll have to dispatch at least three Divine Sons, and we might even have to involve Priests at the Quasi-God level," the tattooed Divine Being said in a low voice. "Is it worth it for a single Innate?"
"It is worth it." Uhmong’s reply was decisive. "He’s no ordinary Innate. He can unleash a Level 45 attack from a Level 41 Energy Level. This means he either has a heaven-defying secret treasure or heaven-defying talent. Either way, he cannot be allowed to live."
He looked at Gru. "Relay my orders. Have Zhaolumen lead the team. Select two more Divine Sons to form a kill squad. Tell them I don’t care about the process, only the result. I want him brought back, dead or alive."
Gru bowed his head. "Yes, sir."
"One more thing," Uhmong added. "Notify all outposts on the Star Realm Battlefield to heighten their alert. Any suspicious humans are to be reported immediately. Anyone who can provide his exact whereabouts will be rewarded with an extra ten thousand merit points."
"Understood."
At that moment, the nine Divine Beings in the council hall all understood Uhmong’s resolve.
This human had to die.
No matter the cost.
...
「East Third District, Gray Rock Camp.」
Xu Wuyi had no idea that the Celestial Wolf Civilization had issued a Blood Wolf Order for him.
He was currently sitting in his tent, sorting through the intel he had gathered from the three outposts.
Most of it was routine information: ore production, supply reserves, troop deployments... nothing of great value.
But one encrypted file caught his attention.
It was a report he had found deep within the control room of Outpost Nine, written in the Celestial Wolf script, titled "Development Plan for the West Seventh District’s Black Stone Vein."
Xu Wuyi skimmed through it quickly.
The report’s contents were simple: the Celestial Wolf Civilization had discovered a high-purity Black Stone vein deep in the West Seventh District. Black Stone was a core material for manufacturing high-grade Energy weapons and armor, making it extremely valuable.
The Celestial Wolf Civilization had already established a forward base there, garrisoned it with heavy troops, and was accelerating its mining operations.
A simple map was attached at the end of the report, marking the vein’s location and the base’s general layout.
Xu Wuyi stared at the report, a dark-golden light flashing in his eyes.
’A Black Stone vein...’
’If I could destroy that place, the Celestial Wolf Civilization’s losses would be far greater than the three outposts.’
He put the report away and began to inspect his gear.
The Meteor Iron Long Spear was in good condition, the Energy circuits in his combat suit were intact, and his supplies were plentiful. The Fire Source Stone’s Energy had recovered to about sixty percent, enough to sustain one high-intensity battle.
Everything was ready.
Xu Wuyi stood up and walked out of the tent.
Outside, the sky had completely darkened. Dark red clouds obscured the last sliver of pale light, shrouding the entire camp in an oppressive darkness.
Su He’s squad was in the center of the camp, sorting through the day’s spoils. When they saw Xu Wuyi emerge, all five of them stopped what they were doing.
