Chapter 5: Killing Zombies
This smell sucks!.
The two wooden baseball bats he left behind on the ground, and he walked forward, clutching his metal bat.
This whole area was empty. This supermarket was quite big; some people probably ran inside instead of going out.
He saw blood on the floor, on the counter, on the clothes and on the woman’s mannequin, which was on the ground with a broken neck.
Looks like a lot of chaos happened here.
Well, nothing unexpected. When the person next to you suddenly tries to bite you to death, what would you do other than scream, try to push him away or run? But running would be useless; even a small scratch would turn you into a zombie. In a few minutes, you would be the person biting others.
What Loid knows, zombies don’t eat other zombies, so if there was a small number of zombies biting you, you would turn into a zombie after losing some body parts, but if it’s a big group of zombies, then they will eat you alive before you even turn into a zombie.
Both outcomes were horrifying, so he doesn’t want to follow either.
"Help ahhhhhhh! ’Someone please help!!..."
He heard screams again and saw the owner of the voice.
Behind the counter, women in employee dress were screaming.
Two zombies were blocked by a counter, their arms raised forward toward her; she was clinging against the wall, just inches away from the zombies’ hands.
Three people were on the ground; eight zombies were eating them. One was making a muffling sound; two were motionless— already dead because zombies had already eaten their heads... The one making a muffling sound was because zombies were eating his limbs first.
One of the dead was probably a girl, he can tell from her body shape and her clothes were also like that beautiful screaming employee women, light blue, short-sleeved shirt with a collared neck parred with dark navy blue or black trousers which hides the wetness of the blood because of the dark color, but only from small area her shirt left sky blue, other then that it was whole wet with a blood.
He looked back at the alive employee woman with vibrant, wavy red hair styled with a center part. She probably knows this dead employee girl.
But why are there so few zombies and people? Was this market’s business going bad? He was expecting more zombies and people, or at least dead bodies.
Maybe they run deeper into the market.
"Help me! Help me! Please help me! I don’t want to die... please!’’
She saw him; her face was pale from fear. He was sure that she was feeling that her heart was drumming so loudly that it would burst out; her chest was rising and falling at abnormal levels; she was totally out of breath.
In her teary, ember eyes, he saw something other than fear: hope.
I should give a smile so she calms down, right? He thought and smiled at her, then he placed a finger on his lips, telling her to stay quiet.
She bit her lower lip and nodded.
Surprisingly, she was focused.
Zombies not climbing or jumping from the counter; he doesn’t know how their brains work. Some scratch, some hit, some can climb stairs. It is like not every zombie is born with all of those abilities. Would they evolve? He hopes they don’t.
Maybe soon they would be under snow, but they won’t die from cold, and if they evolve themselves to learn to hide under snow and jump on in surprise attacks..,
But who would be alive by then?
If things go as he was thinking, then every human and animal would be dead within a year, or maybe much earlier; well, only if they don’t have a safe house to protect them from the cold and provide them with their necessities.
System, why bring me to a completely ending world?.
There was no hope for survival here if other people didn’t awaken superpowers.
Maybe that was going to happen.
The novel he knew was without this snowfall, only a zombie world with dumb heroines who were just creating problems and throw themself on the protagonist, and all jealousy shit going on, and the protagonist didn’t have sex with them because he was too busy looking for his childhood friend. Loid had no idea at the end he found her, not because by then he lost interest in the story; the protagonist clearly liked other heroines, but he didn’t advance their relationship.
And pathetically, he liked the novel at the start; as girls throw themselves at you, while you act cool, ignoring them while killing zombies and people... weird pleasure reading that if only the author added a little sex...
Anyway, in the story, there were no superpower users; the only supernatural thing was that an object fell in the Atlantic Ocean and zombies; also, slowly the protagonist’s body kept getting stronger above normal means.
It’s a pity he didn’t finish the story, nor did the system give him the whole novel plot; it just reminded him what he read.
It sucks.
He walked to the counter zombie.
Alright, just kill it with one blow,
He raised the bat high, to his back then. "Clang! He smashed the zombie head; it caved in. The bat became wet red. Loid didn’t know why he still didn’t vomit yet.
He jumped back as a zombie fell on the ground with a thud!.
"puff’’ the blood came out of its head like a fountain.

Lol, it’s easy to kill.
He jumped back one more time as the other zombie pounced on him; luckily, only one; the others who were eating humans were only focused on the food.
They don’t care what’s happening around them. Why?. He had no idea. Though it was good for him.
He swung his bat 360 degrees and smashed it at the approaching zombie’s head, throwing it two feet away,
The zombie didn’t move. dead.

He heard a second notification.
Hey, the system only gives me notifications at every thousand points.
Like this, it could distract him and get him killed; all zombies need to do is scratch. He doesn’t have any fucking immunity or anything.
He looked at the dining zombies.
They are still completely ignoring him.
He smiled and walked to easy prey.
But they still don’t stop eating; what fuck with this hunger?!...
He saw many betrayals already; people would use their fellow human beings like fish food to cross places or to distract the zombies, but in cold weather, where would they even travel?
Right now it is just winter, not a world-ending winter; what if..
Wait... water, I also need water; it would also freeze. How much water do supermarkets have? Freezing water is good, right? I just have to fire the ice.. He thought as one by one he smashed every zombie head; he wasn’t holding back; in every strike, he used all his strength with the right momentum; he watched some videos on the internet and practiced it.
Killing with one head shot means it’s paid off.
"Clang!’’
"Thud!"
That was the last one. Then he approached a half-dead man to finish him before he turned zombie and pounced on him.
