Chapter 1255: The Sacrifices

Out of nowhere, the 8th Hero of Darkness proclaimed that since Heroes and Heroines like Kahn and even Morpheus who came all since the first generation, had the potential to kill the Demon God because they were the Seeds spread across the Multiverse.

At first, he talked about how the Demon God had so many ways to survive, but his biggest strength could now be used against him to finally kill the god.

"What do you mean by ’a virus that can eradicate its creator.’?" asked Kahn with a baffled countenance.

Sigh!

"This is the only way that I found which could be used to put an end to this war." spoke Morpheus as he heaved a deep sigh.

Soon, he revealed his secrets to Kahn and told him the confirmed way to kill the Demon God after centuries of gathering information and devising a foolproof method.

After hearing it, Kahn was mostly shocked, discombobulated, and holding his head out of sheer disbelief.

"You really want me to go through all of this?! Can I even do it?!

If you’re wrong... I will not only die, but also my soul will be destroyed out of reality." said Kahn with a bewildered expression.

"It is a risk that must be taken. That is why... you must become a Demi-God first before you even fight the Demon God head-on." iterated Morpheus.

"Yes, I’m aware. Even the Martial Emperor warned me about it. He said that he and other heroes barely survived against the Demon God even as 8th-stage saints.

While six heroes and heroines were killed so easily during that encounter." stated Kahn, calling back on what original Kahn Salvatore warned him of back then.

"Your method... while incredibly risky and with a very low success rate, aligns with the method my master, Miyamoto Musashi, told me.

Though the approaches are based on your respective areas of expertise... I believe that it can only improve our plans when that time comes." revealed Kahn as he finally calmed his countenance.

"What did it require for you to use the Sword Saint’s method?" asked Morpheus with a curious voice.

"To use your and his method together to end the Demon God... Not only must I become a Demi-God, but also reach another impossible milestone." spoke Kahn with a somber tone.

"What exactly is it?" inquired Morpheus.

"It is to achieve... the 5th Enlightenment in the Space Law."

The chilling atmosphere seemed to stop in time, as both Heroes of Darkness locked eyes with firm countenance.

Soon, Kahn revealed the method taught by Miyamoto Musashi and how the 5th Enlightenment was a must for it.

"But how will you achieve it? There has never been a human in the history of Vantrea to achieve that milestone." spoke Morpheus with a doubtful tone.

"Yes. It would have been impossible for me to do it in time, even with the teachings I received from Sensei Musashi.

But I already received the key information on how to do it by the very being who accomplished that milestone himself." said Kahn with a relaxed tone.

"The Elder Dragon of Cosmos, Saalazaar Mortelix!" said Morpheus as soon as he connected the dots.

"Yes. You could say that he somehow knew that I would need it. That is why he sacrificed the remainder of his soul to facilitate the Martial Emperor and come back in time.

He, too, has disappeared from both timelines as consequences.

And before he did, he imparted all his knowledge to me." revealed Kahn.

This was a pivotal part of his meeting with the Martial Emperor during the Conclave of Heroes.

"If I find a way to use both of your methods, it will indeed be possible.

No... I have to make it possible." declared Kahn with a resolute tone.

"There is one important question I must ask you in return." said Kahn as his expression turned serious.

"Who... is Argos Belmont?!"

Once again, the atmosphere turned somber as Kahn asked a question that had been plaguing him from a while.

"Since you have prepared for over 300 years... Is no one remembering him, including the God of Darkness in this timeline, is part of your plan?" he asked.

To this query, Morpheus’ expression stiffened.

"He existed in the old timeline, but now, he is a complete mystery even to the Gods." stated Kahn, revealing his knowledge about this issue so far.

Morpheus, with an incredulous countenance, finally revealed...

"My adopted son... his fate was very cruel in the original timeline.

That is why I had to hide his existence with the same power that allowed me to hide the Abyss Empire and create this hidden realm as well." revealed Morpheus with a dejected face.

"In this timeline, he has an even more pivotal part to play."

His expression hardened as he spoke to Kahn with a stoic voice, as if he had decided on his own.

"In the original timeline, I also chose not to tell the truth about his background to Martial Emperor.

To be honest, I did not know him that well, as I have come to know you. I can trust you more instinctively for some reason." said Morpheus.

"And now, I believe that you have earned that honesty from me, given how different you’ve turned out.

But promise me one thing... You will never tell him yourself. The decision lies with him." said Morpheus as he decided to divulge another big secret to Kahn.

"I swear." replied Kahn with an understanding face and he nodded his head.

Then Morpheus chose to reveal the truth about why he decided to hide Argos from the eyes of the Gods and Goddesses in this timeline.

After 10 Minutes...

"Are you kidding me? Who can we even trust now?" asked Kahn with a terrified expression.

"Do you understand my dilemma now? Not only I had to kill my fellow heroes and heroines... I was forced to make that decision as well before I had to kill myself.

That is why you must keep secrecy till the very end. Otherwise, whether it was mine, Elder Dragon Saalazaar or the Martial Emperor... all of our sacrifices will be for naught." said Morpheus with a regretful tone.

"So that was why you broke off all your ties with God of Darkness?" asked Kahn.

"Not entirely. Not all Gods are dubious. I can say that about at least God of Space and God of Nature.

The God of Life and the Goddess of Water are also somewhat trustworthy.

And God of Time, God of Sentience, God of Fire, and especially the God of Light; should not be trusted at all.

Whether it was my generation or yours, their intentions have always seemed to serve themselves and not the fate of the multiverse.

As for God of Darkness..." revealed Morpheus.

"I don’t trust him."

This left Kahn stunned on the spot, and he asked in a low voice...

"What made you suspicious of him?"

Morpheus replied with a cold tone...

"Not ’what’ but ’who’."

And at last, he broke his cold silence as he revealed the identity of that entity...

"It was none other than... Our divine weapon."
