Chapter 663: Chapter 682: Her Liking, Her Choice, Her Dilemma
On her way back to the dorm, Jiang Qiuqiu had a lot on her mind.
She had succeeded.
She had set a goal for herself: to successfully pilot a Medium-sized Mecha before transferring departments. Now, she had done it.
The moment she achieved her goal, joy erupted from within. But after the initial elation, other, more inexplicable emotions followed.
The three-month deadline was fast approaching.
When she first came to Federation University, she had chosen the Mecha Single Soldier System purely out of curiosity.
She couldn’t say she loved the major—after all, she didn’t know much about it, having come from Earth. Curiosity was what had led her here.
Three months had passed. The difficult studies and the tedious, repetitive training always left her drenched in sweat. It was just like now—walking back under the early summer sky, the wind felt hot against her face, and her sweat-soaked clothes clung to her skin.
It was a sensation that should have felt unpleasant, but Jiang Qiuqiu found it surprisingly exhilarating.
She realized she actually quite liked this department.
There was a deeply satisfying sense of exertion to it.
But then there was the Spirit Healing Department...
Jiang Qiuqiu knew she possessed a unique Spirit Healing Ability that could slow the progression of genetic collapse in patients.
Mrs. Ai’er had told her it was a one-of-a-kind ability.
She also loved to cook. Knowing she possessed such a rare gift, she wasn’t afraid to work hard and improve herself so she could help those suffering from genetic collapse.
Especially after seeing Brother Leopard, that feeling of ’I can make a difference’ grew even stronger.
But she was only one person! ’If only I could use shadow clones.’
One clone could take classes in the Spirit Healing Department, while the other stayed here to keep piloting Mecha. That would be perfect. No more agonizing over the choice.
By the time she reached the dorm, her sweat had dried. Her roommates had just finished taking turns showering. Jiang Qiuqiu was back rather late, and when Meng Chun asked, Qiuqiu said, "I walked back."
"Hm? Why walk back? You didn’t take a hovercar?"
"Felt like taking a slow walk."
"Speaking of taking it slow, don’t keep us in suspense! How did the test go today, Qiuqiu!" Liu Tingting asked, her eyes sparkling. "Did you pass the Medium Armor test!"
"I’ll tell you in a bit. Let me shower first."
She gave a small smile and headed into the bathroom.
The hot water made her thoughts wander even more. But no matter how much she mulled it over, she couldn’t come up with a good solution. The more she thought, the more frustrated she became. ’If I can’t figure it out right now, I might as well stop thinking about it!’
She dried her hair, changed her clothes, and sat down at the table to eat. Then, she brought up the afternoon’s test.
"I passed."
"But piloting against the pressure consumes spiritual power way too fast," Jiang Qiuqiu added. "I can’t last very long."
Just performing some very basic maneuvers, after about forty minutes, Jiang Qiuqiu was already covered in sweat, her face pale. Her entire Spirit Sea felt as if it were being drained dry.
"That’s still amazing!"
It had been almost three months since school started, and everyone had learned from their theory professors about the pressure inside different Mecha cockpits.
They also knew how difficult it was for a person to resist that pressure without being a Genetic Hybrid, and they’d learned how the different types of Genetic Hybrids led to different specializations in power.
All things considered, the fact that Jiang Qiuqiu could skillfully pilot a Light Armor as a natural person was already incredible.
Let alone being able to pilot a Medium-sized Mecha after such a short period of training!
"Qiuqiu, you’re amazing!"
"Everyone in class is going to be so shocked tomorrow!"
"They might be shocked, but not necessarily because of that," Jiang Qiuqiu said, propping her chin on her hand. "They’ll probably be shocked by my results."
Liu Tingting: ???
"What about your results?"
"You’ll find out tomorrow."
’They’re probably going to be a total disaster.’
