Chapter 636: Chapter 655: I Really Want to Get Married Right Now
This wasn’t the right place.
And it wasn’t the right time.
Mo Si nuzzled Jiang Qiuqiu’s cheek. The heat of his skin met the warmth of hers, and a ticklish sensation spread across her face. He propped himself up on the sofa with one hand, while the other couldn’t help but wander over Qiuqiu’s face.
This was his lover.
He wanted to hold back, but their proximity only made it harder to suppress the thoughts flooding his mind.
Just a little... His fingers traced her jaw, her neck, brushing against the edge of her collar.
His breathing grew heavy. It was as if he had been suffused with the essence of March peach blossoms, a rosy flush spreading through him, overflowing with the fragrance of spring.
Jiang Qiuqiu lay on the sofa, her collar slightly disheveled, her lips a vivid red, and her eyes shimmering like a rose on the branch, full of allure.
It was an intertwining of wind and moon.
The sound of heavy breathing gradually subsided. With immense self-control, Mo Si finally forced himself to stand up.
His back was to Jiang Qiuqiu, and the hand buttoning his shirt trembled slightly.
’The buttonholes on this shirt really are too small.’
Nothing had happened.
Jiang Qiuqiu slowly sat up as well. She was positioned just behind Mo Si. Her tail, tucked into her pants, was still wagging restlessly.
Her hands began to itch with temptation again, but just as she reached out, his voice, heavy with the remnants of passion, stopped her. "Qiuqiu, I’m just an ordinary man."
"I lose control, too." He turned his head to look down at her.
Jiang Qiuqiu pulled her hand back.
Clearly, she didn’t realize what consequences her actions could have.
Mo Si sighed.
’What am I supposed to be thinking right now?’
He sat down as well, right beside Jiang Qiuqiu.
At that moment, no words were needed between them. The comfortable silence and occasional shared glances painted a picture of infinite affection.
Jiang Qiuqiu tilted her head, looking at him.
He said only one thing: "Qiuqiu, I really want to marry you right now."
"We can’t do that, you know."
"I know."
Once they’d settled into a peaceful calm, her ears finally retracted and her tail settled down. By now, it was almost three o’clock.
He had a press conference tomorrow, and Mo Si needed to be back at his Military Department office before five-thirty to prepare everything.
Even by taking a high-speed Hovercar, the trip would take an hour and a half at best. That meant, at most, they only had an hour left.
And they still hadn’t eaten lunch.
She had prepared it specially. Time was tight; every minute and every second was precious.
Jiang Qiuqiu got the chopsticks for Mo Si and served him a bowl of rice.
With so little time left, Mo Si had to ask Jiang Qiuqiu how she’d been while they ate.
"How’s school?"
"I’m doing great."
"Training is... well, it’s training. It’s all manageable. I’ll get stronger bit by bit. I’m aiming to qualify for a Medium-sized Mecha before the program ends."
Once she set a goal, she was very persistent.
But Mo Si offered a few words of comfort. "It’s okay if you don’t make it, though. It wouldn’t be your fault."
"Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses."
"I know," Jiang Qiuqiu said with a smile. "You know me, I’m not the type to get hung up on things."
"Mm, I know." Mo Si looked at the table full of dishes—all his favorites. "But I still worry you’ll feel bad about it."
"Also, how did things go with changing companies?"
"Everything’s fine!" Jiang Qiuqiu said. "The lawsuit is over, the new contract is signed, and I’m the new boss now!"
"It all went really well~"
"As long as it went smoothly. While I’m away, if you run into any trouble, you can go find Chengyu."
"Mhm, mhm. I know. You’re the one going far away, not me, so don’t just talk about me." Jiang Qiuqiu added, "You need to come back safely, just like always."
"Mm, I know."
