Chapter 172: Chapter 172 Really weak

Stephan and Alana had agreed to stay home the following day together. After having a shower together and breakfast. He noticed she barely touched her food and seemed really weak.

He wondered if he had been too much last night. Did he hurt her?

“I feel so tired. I need to get more sleep.” She let out.

“I’ll come join you in bed after putting away the dishes.” He said staring at her with concern as she walked away.

********

As Stephan walked into the room, she was curled up like a ball. He quickly hurried up to her.

“Lana, what is it?”

She looked up and his heart sunk at how pale she was.

“My period...I’m on my period.”

Alarmed, he stood up.

“What should I do? Are you in so much pain? Should I take you to the hospital? I...”

She laughed. “Calm down, Stephan. It’s just...I’m not with any sanitary pads and if you could get them as well as the tea I always take, I’d be fine.”

Seeing the girl blink her clear, beautiful eyes and nervously tug at his hand, the soft, ticklish sensation, paired with her soft, sweet, and adorable voice, calmed his nerves.

When it came to his girlfriend, he needed to handle her with absolute care, make sure she was always okay.

He smiled and replied affectionately,

“Alright, stay right here. What’s the name of the tea? I’ll go buy it for you right away.”

As she told him the name, he leaned down to kiss the girl on the forehead, then turned and walked away.

Alana shifted uncomfortably, rubbing her legs together, and whispered, “Hurry up...”

Stephan curved his lips. “Got it, my little darling.”

That slightly magnetic “little darling” made her ears tingle and her whole body feel flushed with desire.

Oh God!

**********

Stephan arrived at a nearby supermarket, headed straight for the checkout counter,

and asked the cashier.

With his hands in his pockets, he exuded a cool, aloof air.

“Where is the feminine hygiene section?”

The cashier was instantly captivated by the handsome, well-built man standing before her.

He was so handsome!

She really wanted his number!

But the moment she heard him ask about feminine hygiene products, she guessed he

might already have a girlfriend.

The cashier felt a twinge of regret, but she dutifully pointed out the sanitary pad section to him.

“Go straight from here, and it’s at the end.”

Stephan politely said thank you and headed toward the end of the aisle as the cashier had indicated.

Watching the man’s tall, slender figure, the cashier couldn’t help but gaze at him with starry eyes. “He’s so handsome! And he’s even buying sanitary pads for his girlfriend in person, so handsome and

thoughtful, truly one of a kind! Oh God, please send me a whole bunch of boyfriends like that!”

Stephan strolled leisurely over to the feminine hygiene section and gave it a quick scan.

The selection was vast, with dozens of brands to choose from.

He’d forgotten to ask her earlier; he didn’t know which brand of sanitary pads she

usually preferred.

If he just picked one at random, he was afraid she might not be used to it.

After a moment’s thought, he pulled out his phone and sent her a message.

Stephan: [What brand of sanitary pads do you usually use?]

As he was looking down at his phone, a graceful figure had quietly approached him.

Stephan was waiting for Alana’s reply when, suddenly, someone tapped him on the shoulder out of the blue.

It wasn’t too hard or too soft, but it felt incredibly intrusive.

He looked up and saw Darla, who had appeared at his side without him noticing. Darla was wearing a lotus-pink dress and a pair of silver-rimmed glasses, exuding the air of a refined lady.

When she recognized Stephan, a flicker of delight crossed her eyes. “What a coincidence! I can’t believe I ran into you at the supermarket!”

Did this mean that fate had brought them together after all?

Stephan cast a faint glance at Darla, his tone even colder. “Miss Gordon, have you

forgotten what I once told you?”

Darla feigned ignorance and asked with a smile, “What?”

Stephan raised his hand and gently tapped the spot where Darla had just touched, his brow furrowing slightly as if in disgust.

“From now on, if you run into me, just pretend you didn’t see me.”

Darla scoffed.

What a heartless, unromantic man.

But the more unromantic he was the more she wanted to conquer him!

She’d love to see just how wild and sensual this man, who appeared so aloof and restrained on the surface, was once they were in bed.

She kept picturing both of them naked together and cuddling.

She would sure he’d make a wonderful lover.

Darla was burning with desire inside, but she kept smiling, feigning ignorance of his meaning as she changed the subject.

“What are you buying?”

Stephan glanced down at the message Alana had replied to, then scanned the various arrangements of sanitary pads in front of him. With a sweeping gesture of his

large hand, he precisely picked out the exact brand she needed. “Sanitary pads.”

Darla was taken aback. “Sanitary pads?”

Who were they for?

Surely... he wasn’t buying them for himself, was he?

Could it be that he recently had hemorrhoid surgery and needs sanitary pads now?

No, that wasn’t it... though it was not entirely impossible.

After all, as a doctor, she’s seen it all.

Thinking this, she smiled and said, “The sanitary pads you’re holding are too cheap; they won’t work well. I recommend the brand I usually use, it’s 100% cotton, antibacterial, and highly absorbent.”

Darla took it upon herself to grab a pack of the sanitary pads she usually used and shoved them into his hand.

Stephan didn’t even look at them; he just shoved the pads back into the shelve.

“What works for you isn’t necessarily right for everyone else.”

She blinked.

He picked up several packs of sanitary pads, some for daytime use, some for nighttime, and clutched them tightly in his hand.

Ignoring Darla, he continued browsing the supermarket with the pads in hand.

Seeing that she was being ignored, Darla gritted her teeth and followed him

again.

She tried to strike up a conversation half-heartedly, “Now that we’ve bought the pads, what else do you want to get?”

Stephan ignored her. He wandered over to the food aisle and spotted a bag of brown sugar, traditionally boiled and all-natural.

He picked up a bag without a second thought.

During her period, a woman’s energy and blood are deficient.

They need to drink some brown sugar and ginger soup to replenish their energy. He would also buy the tea she asked for too.

Whenever his mother felt unwell during her period, his father would personally make this soup for her.

After she drank it, her complexion improved significantly. It was especially soothing when she had menstrual cramps.

Next, he picked out some red dates, goji berries, and ginger.

Darla looked puzzled. “Brown sugar, red dates, goji berries, and ginger? Why are you buying all this?”

Stephan glanced at her and said indifferently, “Miss, you’re a doctor, aren’t you? What effect would these ingredients have when combined and simmered into a soup?”

Darla replied instinctively, “They replenish energy and blood, dispel cold and warm the

body, and boost the immune system.”

A faint smile played at the corners of his mouth. “Exactly. My girlfriend is on her period, so I need to have this prepared specially for her.”

She gritted her teeth. “Stephan, don’t give me that. Your mother told me you don’t even have a girlfriend!”

Stephan gave her a half-smile. “What nonsense has my mom been feeding you now?”

Darla stared at him, enunciating each word clearly, “Your mother told you to arrange for your girlfriend to meet her last weekend, but you didn’t. So, you don’t have any so-called girlfriend at all!”

Stephan stared at her, incredulously.

He was at a loss for words.

Darla knew full well that Stephan didn’t see her as a romantic prospect yet, but that didn’t mean she had no chance.

She said in a conciliatory tone, “Stephan, honestly, you don’t need to make up a nonexistent girlfriend to deceive your mother. Since your mother wants you to have a girlfriend, get married, and start a family so badly, why not find someone who’ll make you and her happy? I happen to meet your mother’s requirements. If you marry me, we can take our time building our relationship after the wedding.”

“If after a year or two, you still don’t have feelings for me, we can talk about parting ways. Isn’t that better than being constantly pressured to get married?”

Besides, she was confident that once she successfully married him, she would win him over sooner or later!

Stephan’s dark eyes held a cool detachment. He didn’t answer her question but asked instead, “Miss Gordon, do you know why I haven’t gotten married yet?”

Darla was curious. “Why?”
