Chapter 142: Chapter 142 Too old

Alana frowned. “No way. You gave them to me, I can’t just throw them away!”

Hearing this, Stephan looked at her with a meaningful expression.

Alana’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she shyly averted her gaze.

You big mouth!

How did I accidentally let my true feelings slip out?!

Use your brain next time!

Watching the girl’s bashful reaction, he couldn’t help but smile. “Alright, I’ll take your word for it. I’ll give you less next time.”

Alana blushed and gave a soft “Mm-hmm.”

She hugged the roses from the passenger seat to her chest so she could sit down comfortably.

Really wanting to do something more for him, she let out.

“Let’s stop by the supermarket. I want to prepare dinner for you.”

Stephan’s eyes dilated. “My girlfriend wants to cook for me?!”

Alana laughed.

Why was he acting as if she was offering something huge?

“But I wouldn’t want you to stress yourself. We can just order.” He suggested.

She shook her head. “I want to cook. It’s one of my love languages.”

His jaw dropped. “Love?”

Alana laughed harder. “Can you stop acting like that?”

“I can’t help it! I’m so happy. My girlfriend wants to cook for me because she loves me.”

Well, Alana let him have his moment.

His excitement was quite contagious and she couldn’t stop smiling.

***********

When they got to the supermarket, both of them, walked through the aisles together, chatting and deciding what to buy.

Suddenly a little boy ran up to them.

“Hello, Miss, you’re so pretty, will you be my girlfriend?” He let out, adorably.

Stephan gasped in shock.

Couldn’t this little brat see her boyfriend standing right here?

“Huh?” Alana froze. A little boy who looked about five or six years old had just said those words to her.

What kind of awkward moment is this?

She found it cute but didn’t know what to say.

Stephan looked at the tiny boy before him, barely reaching his knees, and couldn’t

help but frown.

“Kid, get a good look at me. I’m her boyfriend. She’s already taken, there’s no way she’d accept your confession!”

The little boy’s hair was combed immaculately; he wore a white T-shirt and suspenders with jeans.

His chubby little face was fair and smooth, like a plump, tender meat bun.

He eyed Stephan up and down, then curled his lip in disdain. “But you look really old to be her boyfriend.”

Stephan felt slapped...by a little girl no less.

Where was he old? He wasn’t even thirty yet!

Alana couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw his face suddenly darken.

Stephan noticed that Alana was still trying to stifle her laughter, could it be that she,

too, was secretly thinking he was too old?!

He was only...six years older than her.

Stephan glared at the little boy with a forced smile, “It’s rude to make fun of someone’s age! Where are your parents? Go get your parents so they can teach you some manners!”

The little boy grumbled, looking as if he feared nothing, “I’m not telling you!”

“Fine, I’ll teach you a lesson in place of your parents!” Stephan pretended to reach out his hand.

“No!”

The little boy let out a shriek, then quickly shoved a stick of flower into Alana’s hands, along with a note.

“Miss, these flowers are for you, and here’s my contact info. If you feel the same way about me, call! This old man has a bad temper. Don’t date him. My mummy says I’m a very good boy.” After shoving the items into her hands, he rolled his eyes at Stephan, stuck out his tongue, and scampered off.

What a cocky little brat!

Stephan wanted to chase after him and beat him up, but in the end, he just gritted his teeth and muttered, “You little brat!”

Alana smiled and soothed him, “He’s just a playful little boy. There’s no need to take it

to heart.”

Stephan shot her a glance, his tone icy.

“He said you shouldn’t date me. Shouldn’t we teach him a lesson?”

He can call him old all he wants, but he ha no right to say Alana shouldn’t date him.

They were clearly a perfect match, how could they not be??

Realizing the man was angry, Alana wisely kept her mouth shut. However, the little boy’s words did pique her curiosity.

“Speaking of which, I haven’t asked you yet, how old are you?”

Stephan blinked.

Wasn’t it rude to suddenly ask someone their age?

The man suddenly snatched the flower and note from her hand, tossed them into the trash can, then turned, pushing the cart.

“I think we’ve got everything we need. I’m hungry. Let’s go home and cook!”

Alana frowned.

Why won’t he answer her?

Was he that old?

But he just dressed a bit more maturely; he doesn’t look old at all.

And even if he doesn’t want to answer, why did he throw the flowers and the note in the trash?

The little boy quickly ran back to his mother.

His mother was dressed like a lady of high society and had a very refined air about her. Seeing the little boy running back and forth, she couldn’t help but scold him.

Although it was a scolding, her tone was gentle.

“Where did you run off to just now? Didn’t I tell you to stay by my side every time we go out and not run off?”

The little boy blinked, looking a bit guilty.

“Sorry, Mommy. I just saw a really pretty girl who looked like a fairy, so I went over to talk to her. I’ll be more careful next time!”

The boy’s mother was both annoyed and amused. “You’re such a kid! You’re so young, and already so mischievous!”

“Mommy, that girl really is beautiful. If you don’t believe me, look, she’s right over there!” The little boy pointed toward the cash register.

The boy’s mother couldn’t help but look over and caught a fleeting glimpse of Alana’s profile as she walked away with the man.

She stared, momentarily transfixed.

Why does that girl seem so familiar? She looks just like...

Meanwhile.

Alana got into the car with Stephan.

Although Stephan had a cold expression on his face, he still thoughtfully fastened Alana’s seatbelt.

He was clearly still pretty annoyed by that brat from earlier. Alana found it a bit amusing. Why was he sometimes even more childish than a kid?

Stephan glanced at her and suddenly asked, “What are you laughing at? Still thinking about that little boy’s confession to you just now? A little boy who’s barely grown any hair, is he really worth your attention?” His tone was sarcastically harsh.

And of course it sounded sarcastic, he was really upset, his woman was so sought-after by everyone, from the young to the old, men and women alike.

A sense of crisis suddenly washed over Stephan.

He thought to himself, it seems being boyfriend and girlfriend wasn’t enough; he needed to marry her, asap.

Alana was unaware of the man’s thoughts. She cleared her throat softly, “No, I wasn’t thinking about him. What I’m wondering is... how old you are, exactly?”

Stephan stared at her with a dark look in his eyes. “What? Do you think I’m too old?”

Alana blinked. “No, I’m just genuinely curious about your age. Last time, at the hospital, I already told you my age, twenty-two. To be fair, why don’t you tell me yours?”

Stephan took a deep breath, thought for a moment, then replied gruffly,

“Twenty-eight.”

Alana was stunned, her beautiful eyes widening in shock. “Twenty-eight? You’re

actually twenty-eight?!”

She wouldn’t have guessed it. She’d thought he was around twenty-five, but it turned out he was twenty-eight!

Besides, he usually wore suits and leather shoes, looking very mature and

old-fashioned.

If he wore something a bit more youthful, he’d probably look just like a college student, wouldn’t he?

Seeing her shocked expression, Stephan felt a pang of unease in his chest. Could she really be put off by his age?!

But then again, he was about to start college while she was still in middle school

school, there was definitely an age gap.

But surely it wasn’t a generational gap?

“So what if I’m twenty-eight? Even at twenty-eight, I’m still young at heart, I can satisfy a woman as insatiable as

you!”

Alana couldn’t help but blush.

Was that what she meant?

And who was the insatiable one here?!

Stephan shot her a glance, then continued in all seriousness, “Let me tell you, some men these days, don’t be fooled by their youth. They may look good, but they’re all show and no substance. They’re physically weak. If you’re with a man like that, you won’t have a fulfilling sex life!”
