Chapter 6: I’ll Provide for Her
"We’re here."
Priam stopped walking, staring at the entrance of the Alchemists Guild.
In the past, he used his father’s name to enter that place and study Alchemy for free. But it was also a place that sold pills and herbs.
Flaris was confused about why they were there, but Priam simply gestured and walked inside.
As soon as they crossed the entrance, a strong smell of medicinal herbs filled the air.
"Young Master Priam? If you came for the Guild’s trading section, then are you looking for something?" an attendant asked as he approached politely.
Priam nodded and asked about healing pills. They were the best-selling pills, second only to cultivation pills. After hearing a few options and their uses, he reflected for a moment before asking:
"Do you have any pills capable of storing energy, or something like that?"
From the memories of his former self, Priam remembered that there were endless types of pills, and not all of them were meant to be consumed.
"Yes, it’s called the Void Pill. It’s something adventurers always carry when going to unknown places where they don’t know what they might encounter. This pill can absorb the energies of the environment; it’s useful if you come across a place filled with some extremely intense power, and it can also save your life during a future emergency. Each one costs 50 black gold coins."
Hearing the answer, Priam felt his heart speed up.
Without hesitation, he ordered 80 Void Pills, spending 4 thousand black gold coins. With the remaining 2 thousand, he bought 16 of the best general healing pills. They were pills capable of healing almost any type of injury reasonably well, without any specific specialization.
Flaris watched thoughtfully as he spent everything he had just earned. She knew that in the past, Priam had tried to follow in his father’s footsteps by studying alchemy, but he had never shown much talent in that area.
A few minutes later, Priam left that place.
It was already late afternoon, so the two of them returned home.
...
Standing in front of the family building, Priam turned around and looked at that 14-year-old girl, who already looked like an adult woman; imposing, but also beautiful.
"My mother has probably already gone out hunting, and the servants have gone home too."
Hearing that, Flaris’ expression turned gloomy. Priam’s mother had been living an unbelievably harsh routine for the past two years, being forced to go almost every night into the forest surrounding the city, where she hunted some very specific beasts while taking advantage of the darkness.
Selling the cores and other parts of those beasts brought in good money... but the risks involved were enormous.
Fortunately, despite being only an average Mage even in that small city, that woman was extremely skilled at moving stealthily through the forest at night and hunting safely.
Noticing her expression, Priam spoke softly. "Don’t worry, I guarantee that today will be the last day my mother has to go out and hunt. I’ll provide for her and won’t let her suffer anymore. Are you coming in or not? I might need your help later."
Flaris became even more curious and surprised after hearing those words.
"Cousin is really different now. You don’t even seem like that boy who was always sick and could barely go outside to play."
Priam sighed lightly. In this life, he had been born extremely sickly, similar to the time when he lived on Earth as James. He had always been frail, but shortly before his father disappeared, he had already fully recovered.
It was probably something temporary, caused by the mixture of Bloodlines that happened among Mages; that was the conclusion he had reached.
After taking a deep breath, Flaris nodded and entered the building with a smile on her face, remembering the times when she used to enter that house every single day without any formality just to play with Priam.
Now, Priam had finally stopped trying to push her away. So she would definitely do everything she could to help him.
The building was truly empty. Flaris followed right behind him, and both of them entered Priam’s room.
After closing the door, Priam asked her to wait a bit and sat down on the bed.
Before anything else, he needed to empty the Nexus Seed.
Closing his eyes, he concentrated deeply.
[Begin Synthesis?] [Yes / No]
’Yes’
Suddenly, Flaris’ eyes widened; she noticed a subtle golden halo appear above Priam’s head for a single second, accompanied by an anomalous aura. But everything vanished almost instantly.
Inside Priam, part of his Bloodline moved toward the Nexus Seed and fused with the Bloodline stolen from Othon.
Everything happened in just two seconds. Right after that, a single rune with a light green glow appeared.
[First Bloodline Rune Created]

’My first Bloodline Rune... now I have the power of the Eyes of the Wind race!’
He felt his heart race with excitement. Then, without hesitation, he moved everything into his own body.
As expected, that Bloodline Rune fused perfectly with his body, as if he had been born with it. Now, Priam was officially an anomaly, someone who possessed unexpected abilities.
[Priam Ylisse] [Bloodline: 10 (UP)]
He took a deep breath. His Bloodline had risen from 1 to 10. So, would it be possible to one day reach the transcendental level in that as well?
Later, he would test his new abilities.
Returning his focus, he grabbed one of the healing pills from his spatial ring and closed his fist around it.
[Energy detected]
[Dominate and Absorb?] [Yes / No]
Priam accepted. Right after that, he felt the pill’s various medicinal energies flow into the Nexus Seed. They were low-level energies, but they had been combined in an extremely meticulous way.
After a few seconds... a new option appeared.
[Begin Synthesis?] [Yes / No]
’Yes,’
[First Power Rune Created]
[Dominant Yang Potential: capable of restoring and healing, as well as absorbing the Yin from a living being’s body and killing it within seconds]
[Achievement Bonus Acquired!]

Priam smiled excitedly. The Power Runes seemed incredible, capable of providing exactly what he needed the most at any given moment. This specific one gave him extreme healing power, allowing him to fight without fear.
Of course, it wasn’t infinite. Each rune possessed a limited amount of energy, and once all of it was used up, the rune would disappear. Because of that, he would need to constantly create new ones using whatever he had available.
Without delay, he grabbed another healing pill and extracted its medicinal energy. But this time, his expression changed.
The confirmation screen didn’t appear, no matter how much he thought about it.
’I really can’t create another Power Rune.’
He could extract the energy and dominate it inside the Nexus Seed, but he couldn’t synthesize it or create another Power Rune at that moment because he already possessed one. The same thing would probably happen with the Bloodline Rune. That was a limitation caused by his level 1 assimilation with the system.
’What a shame. If I could create and stack them infinitely, I could kill even absurdly more powerful Mages... but this is already enough.’
He opened his eyes.
Then, he opened his hand, and Flaris saw that the second healing pill appeared... but now it was completely black and emitting a strange aura.
Of course, all of the pill’s medicinal power had been removed, leaving behind only the impurities, which represented 95% of it. Those low-grade pills were all like that, absurdly impure.
Priam threw that trash out the window without even giving it a second glance. Then, he grabbed a Void Pill and closed his hand around it.
"!"
Within a few seconds, Flaris’ eyes nearly popped out of their sockets because, all of a sudden, that Void Pill began emitting an astonishingly beautiful emerald light. It looked like a shining crystal.
Priam didn’t care and grabbed another Void Pill. The same phenomenon repeated itself five times in a row.
He took a deep breath and smiled.
’With just one of the 15 low-level healing pills, I managed to create 5 high-purity healing pills... I think it’s impossible to find something this good on this planet. Unfortunately, they’re still low-grade because the Void Pill was created by a mediocre alchemist. Another important reason they remain low-level is that I’m not a real alchemist and don’t want to waste time studying that... so there’s only so much I can improve.’
He raised his gaze toward Flaris.
"Cousin, I’m going to give you 75 of these pills. Your family has businesses in the city, right? Could you take them to them and help me sell everything? I think it’ll be a great deal for everyone."
"Seventy-five..."
She stuttered, unable to comprehend what she had just seen. But feeling the purity of those pills, she was certain they would sell quickly, and for a terrifying price.
Priam smiled.
"Since it’s already nighttime, don’t be in such a hurry. Why don’t we train a little? You said earlier that I had latent potential, right?"
Flaris took a deep breath and nodded.
With that, Priam gained an excellent daily training partner. And now he would be able to complete all of his goals.
