Chapter 126: CH. 126 | Lin Tian’s Moment of Defeat

Cao Ying was stunned by what Lin Tian had just said. She could see it clearly. The number of cultivators in front of them was far greater, and their cultivation bases were far stronger.

"What are you thinking?!" Cao Ying snapped, panicked.

One of the sect elders with a Perfect Nascent Soul cultivation base attacked, directing a sword slash toward them. Lin Tian acted and summoned a protective qi wall, holding the strike back.

"Just take down the Perfect Nascent Soul cultivators!" Lin Tian said firmly.

"You’re insane!" Cao Ying groaned.

Out of the twelve Perfect Nascent Soul cultivators, they split into two groups. Six went after Lin Tian, and the remaining six focused on Cao Ying.

The other members stood back and watched the fight closely, unsure of what to do since this was a high-level confrontation involving Master Nascent Soul cultivators.

Lin Tian was pushed far back, then his attention shot upward when he spotted a mountain seal cap attack coming straight at him.

He acted fast, summoning the Heaven Sword and striking the seal with a powerful surge of qi momentum. Out of nowhere, a qi whale attack came crashing into Lin Tian from behind.

Unable to shield himself in time, the strike connected and sent his body hurtling backward. He cried out in pain while coughing up blood.

He dropped to one knee, clutching his tight chest, eyes fixed straight ahead.

"You really are foolish, brat!"

"Did you honestly think your strength was enough to beat us?!" another elder shouted.

He stared hard ahead. Only three sect elders were in front of him, and he had no idea where the other three had gone.

While trying to locate them, Lin Tian was caught off guard when all three appeared from above. The three cultivators launched their attacks at Lin Tian simultaneously, a sword slash, a fire strike, and a pagoda drop.

Lin Tian formed his seals to counter all three with his own technique. White runes appeared beneath his feet as his hand rose and launched a volley of thousands of swords targeting the three incoming strikes.

But the combined momentum of the three attacks was far stronger than his sword barrage, and it was decisively overwhelmed.

The collapse of his sword technique sent Lin Tian crashing to the ground, seriously injured, his black robe torn, parts of his body bleeding and wounded.

COUGH!

He vomited blood and watched the three attacks still tracking toward him. His eyes went wide. He had miscalculated.

He had never expected the combined force of six Perfect Nascent Soul cultivators to be this overwhelming.

"Die, brat!" they shouted.

But Lin Tian refused to give in. He patted his bag of holding and summoned the Sun-Melting Mirror, an artifact from the height of the Imperial Era.

Even though it would drain a heavy toll on his qi, it was the only option Lin Tian had to fight back and buy himself a moment to recover.

He channeled his spiritual qi into the mirror. A brilliant burst of red fire light erupted from it and launched a searing, blazing laser into the sky, targeting all three attacks at once.

The three elders in the sky were shocked seeing the artifact Lin Tian possessed. They watched as the solar fire laser from the mirror completely shattered their attacks with overwhelming force.

BLAST!

A massive explosion went off, accompanied by an incredibly powerful surge of qi that wounded all three of them and sent their bodies flying far backward.

"An Imperial Era Artifact?!" they shouted in disbelief.

Lin Tian finished using the artifact and dropped to his knees, exhausted, breathing hard with his energy nearly drained dry. But beyond the mirror, Lin Tian still had other ways to fight back.

Elsewhere, Cao Ying appeared to be struggling against six Perfect Nascent Soul cultivators. Despite her higher cultivation base, the techniques they were using were powerful Earth-grade ones.

Still, Lin Tian could see that Cao Ying’s condition wasn’t as dire as his own. She could probably hold on until Lin Tian forced the others to surrender, since killing them outright wasn’t a realistic option for him.

Lin Tian took flight again and fixed his eyes on the six cultivators who had been attacking him. They were on full alert, weapons drawn, ready to come at him again.

"I didn’t expect you to have an Imperial Era Artifact!"

"If I kill you, that artifact is mine!" another elder shouted.

He charged forward fast and swung his sword sideways to cut Lin Tian at close range. Lin Tian smiled faintly. His hand patted his bag of holding and produced the Soul-Splitting Whip.

He swung the whip and landed a clean hit on the cultivator. The man was hurt and coughed up blood, his body thrown far back, his Nascent Soul wounded from a single strike.

Lin Tian dropped again, still airborne, hand still gripping the whip. His attention returned forward, targeting the rest of them.

If he and Cao Ying could beat them, then getting Li Qingxue to consider dual cultivation as a candidate wasn’t out of the question.

"I still have plenty left. Didn’t you want to beat me?" Lin Tian asked, his body and appearance a complete mess.

"Little brat! I don’t know who you are. But you are genuinely asking to die!" one of them shouted.

"We attack together!" they declared.

The five sect elders formed technique seals, summoning attack runes in front of them, then directing them forward.

Five different attacks converged on Lin Tian, each one equal in strength and force, all Earth-grade techniques.

Lin Tian stored the whip and immediately formed technique seals. He activated the Ocean Mirror Barrier, creating a powerful surge of water around him accompanied by a mirror guarding him from every direction.

The force of the five attacks slammed into Lin Tian’s mirror, the collision of massive power generating howling black winds and thunder crashing through the sky.

The disciples from the opposing sect were in awe, but they were also cheering and proud of their sect elders for being able to push that cultivator to the brink.

"Look at him! He talks big, but he’s not strong enough to kill our sect elders."

"This time he’s done. He survived a few hits, but that only made things worse for him."

"Did you hear that? You’re not worthy of my Li Qingxue."

"HAHAHA!"

From the direction of the Yunlan Sect, Li Qingxue was insisting on going out to help the elders of her guest sect fight that mysterious man.

Han Xin tried to stop her, pointing to her unstable condition. But she could no longer be held back.

Li Qingxue flew out from the Yunlan Sect’s main hall and arrived outside the sect’s formation dome.

Elsewhere, Lin Tian had dropped to his knees, both arms still spread wide, though his hands were starting to go numb.

His eyes caught the cracks spreading across the mirror wall, growing wider by the moment. Lin Tian pushed more qi into holding the mirror together, but the six cultivators were doing the same on their end.

The pressure from the five attacks grew stronger and more brutal. Lin Tian’s eyes went wide as he watched the cracks across the mirror spread further, until it finally shattered.

BLAST!

A massive explosion went off with a crack of lightning. Cao Ying stopped fighting for a moment and turned, seeing the state Lin Tian was in and feeling a deep surge of worry.

Li Qingxue arrived clutching her aching chest, watching the explosion and the lightning strike, then her focus locked onto a man whose black robe had been torn away, leaving him bare-chested.

The woman’s arrival drew the attention of the opposing sect’s disciples, but Li Qingxue was too focused on the qi aura coming from the blast zone.

"Why... does that qi aura feel familiar?"

Lin Tian was down and still grimacing in pain, his legs and arms barely responding, as though every movement demanded far more strength than he had left.

His vision was going blurry. His body was in agony. The spiritual qi inside him was chaotic and unstable. He collapsed with nothing left to carry him away from this place.

A... Am I going to die?

I was careless. I didn’t account for their strength.

In the sky, the sect elders flew quickly toward Lin Tian, intent on finishing him off and getting their hands on the artifacts and weapons he had used.

One of the elders closed in, directing his flying sword straight at the defenseless Lin Tian.

"Die!"

Lin Tian saw the man and tried to block the attack, but it was useless. His spiritual qi was nearly gone.

What... can I do?

Just as the blade of that sword nearly reached Lin Tian’s chest...

[DING!]
