Chapter 36: 36. Goblin Raid (1).
Since Austin had informed Legolas of his desire to have the elf tag along with him on his journey to exterminate some goblins, Austin thought it would be best to inform Nora of what he was about to do.
And so, with this thought in mind, Austin made his way to the room where Nora was still awaiting his arrival.
Upon opening the door, Austin noticed the beautiful wolfkin standing before a large window, staring out with one hand on top of her belly while the other supported it from below.
Austin quietly approached his wife from behind, then gently wrapped his arms around her waist, and Nora smiled as she felt his familiar warmth pressed against her body, but her eyes instantly rolled back the moment she felt his large hands gently lifting her huge and heavy tummy in a way that provided support.
Feeling the weight now a bit less heavy than it was a minute ago, Nora instantly melted against Austin’s chest as she let out a soft moan.
"Mmm~ I love it when you do this."
Hearing this, Austin couldn’t help but grin as he mentally thanked the hundreds of reels he had watched in his previous world for giving him ideas on how to make his beautiful wife happy.
Although he had no experience with women back in his previous world, those videos had taught him well enough to make his woman happy right now.
And ever since he had been doing this for Nora over the past few weeks, she had always melted in his arms just like right now.
"Hmm~ hubby?"
"Yes?"
"Why did the Countess ask to see you?" Nora asked, and Austin told her everything he had discussed with the Countess.
Starting from Rowena’s desire to have Nora and Austin living with her in the mansion, all the way to his desire to take part in the goblin extermination with the garrison guards, Austin explained everything to Nora.
Now, the beautiful wolfkin had a look of worry on her face.
If she could accompany Austin to fight against the goblins, she probably wouldn’t have been feeling worried right now, but since she couldn’t join him, Nora felt a little unhappy about leaving Austin on his own without her by his side.
"Do you really have to go?"
"Yes, I have to. But don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it to rain kisses on both your face and my cute little pupcake as well."
Hearing this, Nora couldn’t help but smile as she rested even more against his chest, trying her best to feel as much of his warmth as possible, and Austin could instinctively understand her desires, so he hugged her even tighter as the two stayed silent like that for a while.
After a few minutes, a knock was heard on the door and Austin asked the person to come in.
Surprisingly, it was Rowena, and the beautiful Countess was surprised to see Austin hugging Nora from behind.
"Oh, sorry. I thought you had....."
"It’s fine. It’s your house, so you don’t need to leave." Austin swiftly said when he noticed Rowena was about to close the door and leave.
So he swiftly pulled his hands back before straightening out his clothes.
Once done, Austin turned toward his beautiful wolfkin. "I’ll be on my way now, my love, so I’ll be seeing you later, okay?" Austin asked as he planted a kiss on her lips.
Nora smiled and nodded in understanding.
Then she watched him blow her a kiss before leaving the room.
Of course, Rowena was still in the room watching all of this, so Austin didn’t forget to send her a wink before leaving.
The moment Austin had stepped out of the room, Rowena swiftly informed Nora of why she had come to see her.
It was to introduce Nora to the elven maidservants who would be responsible for taking care of her until she was ready to deliver her baby.
Right after Rowena had explained everything, the beautiful wolfkin turned back to the window to see Austin already riding on a horse with Legolas next to him.
Before they rode out of view, Austin thought it would be better to wave goodbye to his wife one last time before he departed.
And so, he swiftly waved before blowing her a kiss as he made his way out of the mansion and into the distance.
Of course, Rowena had witnessed all of this, and even she couldn’t help but grin as she muttered softly.
"It’s still so strange to see a human love a wolfkin as much as he loves you."
"..." Nora didn’t say anything in return and simply smiled as she watched the back of her husband disappear into the distance.
"In this era, you’re truly a lucky girl to have a man like that by your side."
"What do you mean?" Nora asked as she stared at Rowena.
"Not every man is willing to shower a woman with the kind of love that he gives you, so I doubt anyone else could have what you have." Rowena explained as she walked out of the room, and Nora was left speechless with only one thought in her mind as she stared at the Countess’s departing back.
’Doesn’t she know hubby is also in love with her too?’ Nora muttered internally.

Meanwhile, back with Austin and Legolas, who had stepped out of the mansion and were now on their way to the garrison guards.
"So you’re saying they left without waiting for us?" Austin asked, and Legolas replied in his usual exhausted tone.
"Yeah, they did, because someone was taking a lot longer to come out of his room, so the guards had no choice but to get a head start before us." Legolas replied, but Austin couldn’t stop the smile already on his lips.
He knew his time with Nora had kept him a lot longer than he had originally intended, but he was still glad he had been able to spend a few minutes with his wife before leaving the mansion.
