Chapter 589: Chapter 589 Panic
Sheng Tang was like a walking corpse.
She saw her grandmother and also saw Gu Shiting.
Grandmother was lying in a pool of blood, her eyes still open, her body in a grotesque twisted position; Gu Shiting had been pulled out of the car by the property management, his head covered in blood, his face ashen, as if he was lifeless.
Her legs staggered a bit.
Sheng Tang suspected that she was having a nightmare.
"Did you call Professor Sheng?"
"Did you call an ambulance?"
"Shouldn’t we report this to the police? Is it 110?"
"Everyone back off, move back! Don’t crowd here!"
Everyone was talking at once, voices coming from all directions. The striking red of the blood made Sheng Tang feel dizzy.
"Oh dear, what’s happened to that young girl? Quick, quick, help her up."
"I can’t, I can’t hold her." An elderly lady said, "This girl has fainted too. She’s Tangtang from Professor Sheng’s family, right?"
"Isn’t this just adding to the chaos?"
She vaguely heard the sound of an ambulance, then struggled to stand up.
"Don’t cry, child, don’t cry." An elderly lady kept talking to Sheng Tang, "It’s okay, your parents will be back soon, don’t be afraid."
"Don’t go closer." Someone held back Sheng Tang, preventing her from approaching the ambulance.
Those on the ambulance first carried Gu Shiting onto the vehicle, then went to check on grandmother.
They were shaking their heads.
They seemed to be saying that she was already gone, beyond resuscitation, and they needed to call the police immediately.
The sound of a police siren also rang out.
Sheng Tang wanted to call out to her grandmother, to shout to Gu Shiting, but her voice was stuck in her throat. She opened her mouth with difficulty, but couldn’t utter a single word.
She wanted to push her way over.
But someone held her back desperately.
"Tangtang, don’t go! Hold her back, this girl can’t take it."
Someone couldn’t hold on and Sheng Tang broke free from them.
She ran to the emergency doctor, opening her mouth to try to say something about her grandmother, to save her grandmother.
But the doctor only saw her face covered with tears, like a mute, opening her mouth but unable to make a sound.
"Whose child is this?"
"That’s the old lady’s granddaughter, so pitiful."
"Pull her aside, don’t let her hinder things here."
A young man from the property management stepped forward and forcefully pulled Sheng Tang away.
She continued to struggle until the ambulance carried her grandmother and Gu Shiting away, until the police arrived, until her parents anxiously pushed their way through the crowd. The weight pressing on Sheng Tang’s chest and vocal cords seemed to suddenly lift.
She let out a loud wail and spat out a mouthful of blood before finally crying out loud, "Ah!"
Her voice was so abrupt and loud, it shook everyone’s eardrums, like it was scraping against their hearts.
Everyone turned to look at her.
Professor Sheng had not yet seen the old lady and was already nearly scared to death by Sheng Tang’s condition.
He struggled to pick up his daughter and shoved her into the car.
Trying to stay calm, he said to his panic-stricken wife, "You get in the car first, take care of Tangtang, we’re going to the hospital."
Then, he frantically searched for Song Chen’s phone number and said to the property manager, "Help me make this call, tell them his young master is also in the hospital, and ask his family to come."
Then, following the property manager’s instructions, he drove towards the hospital.
He tried his best not to look at the horrifying pool of blood on the ground.
He also tried his best not to look at his daughter lying in his wife’s arms, even though his daughter’s front was covered in blood, looking dreadful. He had to free his mind to hope for the best.
"It’s just a car accident," Sheng Sidong told himself.
He was about to start the car when the property manager knocked on the window again.
"Professor Sheng, you’re feeling unstable, you shouldn’t drive. Let Xiao Zhang drive for you, is that okay?" The property manager said, afraid that their family would have another accident.
Sheng Sidong’s limbs were indeed too weak to drive.
He nodded, got out of the driver’s seat, and moved to the passenger seat, letting Xiao Zhang drive.
"My son went out to play, if he comes back this afternoon, please watch out for him," Professor Sheng said to the property manager again.
"Don’t worry, I’ll watch the elevator’s surveillance, and I’ll go over if he goes upstairs."
Only then did the car drive off.
Sheng Tang lay in her mother’s arms, feeling her mom trembling.
