Chapter 541: Chapter 541 Darling

Sheng Tang and her classmates waited for a moment, and then the homeroom teacher arrived.

"Everyone find a place to study on your own this morning. It’s best to go to the library. Do not leave the school," the homeroom teacher said.

"Teacher, can we go back to our dormitory?" a boarding student asked.

Only one-fifth of the class were boarding students.

"Yes," the homeroom teacher said with an annoyed expression. He was in a very bad mood.

The remaining students, some went to the café inside the school gate, while others went to the library.

The school’s library was extremely large, with two study rooms. Usually, there were not many students studying there, as they were not college students. Their coursework was heavy, and when they were at school, they attended classes.

Having a library that could rival those of top universities available to them was really a bit of a waste.

However, Huishi High School could afford it. The prestigious reputation of the school’s hardware matched up with any institution.

The class officers organized the students, and they went to the same study room.

No one could concentrate on reading; they were all discussing the incident with Lu Yuanyuan.

"What happened to her?" a boy asked, "I felt she had been in a daze recently. Once, when everyone went for lunch, she didn’t go. I saw her lying on the table crying."

Students gathered around.

"When did that happen?"

"Last month, four or five weeks ago. It was still a bit chilly," the boy said. "I realized I had left my wallet in the classroom when I got to the cafeteria, so I went back to get it. She was the only one there."

"Did she say anything?"

"No," the boy said. "I asked if she was sick, if she wanted me to bring her something to eat. She said no, she couldn’t eat."

Nobody knew Lu Yuanyuan well. After all, she was new.

Everyone was talking at once, but no one could really explain anything.

Sheng Tang quietly stood up and walked out of the study room in the library.

Jiang Baocu tried to hold her back. Sheng Tang gently patted Jiang Baocu’s hand, saying, "I’m making a call."

She called Song Chen.

It was pretty quiet on Song Chen’s end. He asked Sheng Tang what was wrong.

"Brother Song, something happened at school. Do you know about it?" Sheng Tang asked.

"I know, a girl committed suicide. I don’t usually handle school matters, so I don’t know the details," Song Chen replied.

"She was in our class," Sheng Tang said.

Song Chen was surprised, "Your friend?"

"Not really, we were just in the same class," Sheng Tang said. "But yesterday, at the little cake shop, she clung to my leg, cried, and begged for my forgiveness."

Song Chen: "..."

He hesitated, not knowing how to respond.

Sheng Tang knew what he wanted to say.

"I had no conflict with her," Sheng Tang said. "We almost never spoke. Even though she was crying miserably, I didn’t sense any animosity from her.

I just felt like she had something to say to me. It seemed like she was asking for help. She repeatedly said I was Young Master Gu’s girlfriend. It seemed like she thought I was powerful..."

Song Chen was originally lounging in his study.

He had an office near the school. Besides dealing with matters concerning the young master, he also had other work.

He was initially relaxed, but now he straightened his posture.

"Don’t worry. I’ll mention this to Mr. Gu and then look into it myself," Song Chen said.

Sheng Tang agreed.

Song Chen asked again, "Tangtang, this matter won’t implicate you, right?"

"I have a feeling it won’t," Sheng Tang said.

Song Chen nodded.

He hung up the phone and quickly informed Mr. Gu of the situation.

Huishi High School was under Huishi’s educational division, which was a very insignificant part of the Gu Family’s vast business interests. Even senior executives wouldn’t bother getting involved.

But Song Chen called to ask.

"Is it related to Ting?"

"No, Tangtang asked," Song Chen responded.

Since Sheng Tang was the daughter-in-law of the Gu Family and Mrs. Gu’s precious darling, Mr. Gu said seriously, "Then notify the school board and follow up on it personally."

Song Chen agreed.
