Chapter 539: Chapter 539: Were You Bullied?
Sheng Tang stayed in the girls’ dormitory.
In Lu Yuanyuan’s dormitory, there was a bookshelf, filled with quite a few literature books besides reference materials.
Sheng Tang saw a book on economics, a university course.
Besides economics, there were quite a few English originals.
Three full shelves, completely packed, so full that it was hard to pull out a book or put one back in.
Sheng Tang wouldn’t randomly rummage through other people’s things; she just looked without touching.
Lu Yuanyuan quickly changed into her school uniform from the bathroom.
She wiped her face clean and blew her damp hair half dry.
"Sheng Tang, you haven’t left yet?" she asked hesitantly, standing at the bathroom door without moving.
Sheng Tang said, "The first class this morning is English. Both of our English is up to par; we can miss a class without worrying."
Between the two beds was a desk, tidied up neatly, as it was shared by two girls.
Sheng Tang sat on the chair and gestured for Lu Yuanyuan to sit down.
Lu Yuanyuan twisted the hem of her uniform and bit her lip slightly, "I’m sorry, did I scare you earlier?"
"No," Sheng Tang said, "I just don’t understand what you were saying. Do you have some difficulty?"
Lu Yuanyuan bit her lip hard, almost breaking it.
When she let go, deep teeth marks remained.
"I don’t have any difficulty, it’s just...," Lu Yuanyuan seemed unsure how to start, "I have some mental issues. I was diagnosed before, it might be schizophrenia..."
Sheng Tang: "..."
After saying this, Lu Yuanyuan looked at her sincerely, "Can you not tell anyone?"
When she looked up, Sheng Tang noticed her face looked very bad, with a lifeless gray complexion, and dark circles under her eyes like she’d been suffering from insomnia for a long time.
This girl had transferred to Huishi High School only a few months ago.
When she first arrived, her cheeks were rosy, and she had a graceful aura, attracting both boys and girls.
Sheng Tang had also thought she was very beautiful at the time.
How could she look like she had been drained dry in just a few short months?
Sheng Tang hadn’t really looked at her closely before.
"Are you sick and need money?" Sheng Tang asked tentatively.
Lu Yuanyuan hurriedly shook her head, "No, it’s not that, I’m not sick. I really have schizophrenia, but I’m afraid to tell the school. Sometimes, I don’t even know what I’m doing."
Sheng Tang was speechless.
Her sixth sense was sharp, she knew Lu Yuanyuan was lying.
But to use a mental illness as an excuse really meant she didn’t want to say anything.
Sheng Tang had no choice.
But why wouldn’t she tell her and then cling to her leg, asking for "forgiveness"?
Sheng Tang found this very odd.
Her keen sense was not just for a person’s words and actions, but also for their goodness or evil.
She hadn’t seen any malice in Lu Yuanyuan’s expression or eyes.
It felt like she was seeking help.
This strange feeling left Sheng Tang baffled, unable to guess the thoughts of a teenage girl.
"Lu Yuanyuan, is someone bullying you and you’re afraid to speak up?" Sheng Tang asked tentatively again.
Lu Yuanyuan’s body suddenly trembled.
Then, she quickly shook her head, "No, really, no!"
At this point, she seemed quite uneasy.
"Sheng Tang, let’s go to class. I can’t miss class," Lu Yuanyuan said, "I need to get the scholarship. I transferred to Huishi for the scholarship and financial aid."
Sheng Tang couldn’t guess anything, so she went to the classroom with her.
She had a foreboding feeling.
So the next morning, Thursday, when Sheng Tang arrived at the classroom, she found the door surrounded by people, preventing any students from entering.
"What’s going on?" Sheng Tang asked a nearby classmate.
