Chapter 505: Chapter 505 Her Taste
Sheng Tang indeed participated in the school’s broadcast room host interview.
To her surprise, one of the interviewers was Yang Mingming.
"Alright, let’s just get this over with and go home." Sheng Tang felt pretty relaxed.
She didn’t want to be a host anyway; she was only participating to save face for the class teacher.
There were many ways to stand out, but none of them were Sheng Tang’s current goals.
Her current goal was to study.
She wanted to get into the best Drama Academy and pursue a career she loves in the future.
Like other interviewees, she read a passage prepared by the school.
Sheng Tang, a natural-born actress, read the script just like she would read her lines, with perfect intonation and not a single word wrong, full of emotion and rhythm.
The interviewers, except for Yang Mingming, were all teachers from the school.
The teachers had heard of Sheng Tang.
Even the story of her selling a song to help a classmate raise a hundred thousand was very admirable to them.
The interview passage was less than five hundred words and finished quickly.
She finished reading and glanced at the teachers.
Yang Mingming had a slight frown, but the other teachers seemed pleasantly surprised.
"Alright, you can go now. Wait for the school’s notification," the chief examiner smiled at Sheng Tang, showing a bit of appreciation.
Sheng Tang stood up: "Thank you, teachers. I’ll go now."
She returned to the classroom.
As soon as she came back, Yan Jinzhi and Jiang Baocu looked at her, asking about the interview.
Sheng Tang shook her head: "I don’t think I stand much of a chance because there were only four interviewers, and one of them was Yang Mingming."
Jiang Baocu: "..."
With that, Jiang Baocu knew Sheng Tang was out of the running.
Yan Jinzhi, however, didn’t know about Sheng Tang and Gu Shiting’s relationship. He thought Yang Mingming just disliked Sheng Tang because she recently overshadowed her several times, and it wasn’t anything deep-seated.
"It’s not certain," Yan Jinzhi encouraged Sheng Tang, "Maybe the other three teachers really liked you?"
Sheng Tang smiled, took out her textbook.
She stopped caring about it.
After school that day, Gu Shiting called her, wanting to have dinner at her place.
Because it had been almost ten days since he last spoke to Sheng Tang face-to-face, aside from seeing her in school and calling her.
Gu Shiting was reaching his limit.
Sheng Tang agreed.
When she answered the call, she was on the bus and had just squeezed into a seat at the back: "I don’t feel like getting off. Just have your car go straight to my house. I’ll take the bus home."
The bus ride to her house was only about half an hour.
Gu Shiting agreed.
Sheng Tang called home.
Whenever Gu Shiting came for dinner, he usually stayed the night.
Her grandmother was no longer as anxious as she used to be.
Sheng Tang changed her bed sheets every ten days, and as a clean and tidy girl, Gu Shiting would sleep directly in her bed while she moved to her grandmother’s room without needing extra preparation.
Her grandmother rushed to the market to buy a few dishes that Gu Shiting liked.
When Sheng Tang arrived home, Gu Shiting was already standing at the door, waiting for a moment.
"Why didn’t you go in?" Sheng Tang was puzzled.
"There’s no one home," Gu Shiting replied.
A single "home" made Sheng Tang feel warm inside, and she couldn’t help but smile.
She took out the key and opened the door.
She went to the kitchen and saw her grandmother’s cutting board still laid out, showing she went out to buy something at the last minute.
"Grandma should be back soon," Sheng Tang said.
Gu Shiting nodded.
"You sit first," she added, "Put your bag in my room."
Her room was cleaned by her grandmother every day, spotless and tidy.
Gu Shiting looked at her pillow and couldn’t help but lie down, catching a faint familiar scent, the fragrance of the shampoo Sheng Tang often used.
He always smelled it when he was near her.
"Is it a lemon scent?" he wondered dreamily.
