Chapter 501: Chapter 501: How is it you?
Jiang Baocu’s expression changed slightly.
It wasn’t exactly unpleasant, but there was a hint of surprise and a bit of reluctance.
Sheng Tang glanced at her.
Soon, a young assistant rushed in, looking busy, and asked Yan Jinzhi, "Which one of you is Miss Yan?"
Yan Jin’s house was quite wealthy, one could tell by the fact that her family lived in a villa near Gu Jiahui’s house. Therefore, her connections were a bit broader than others.
"That’s me, that’s me." Yan Jinzhi smiled with her eyes slightly squinted, brimming with enthusiasm.
The young assistant also smiled, "Please follow me. Brother Ding is very busy at the moment. You can wait in the lounge first. If Mr. Jiang has time, he will come over to greet you, although he might not be free, as there are only three hours left before the concert starts."
The "Brother Ding" she mentioned was Jiang Mingfei’s manager, Ding Cheng.
Yan Jinzhi quickly responded, "I understand, thank you."
She promptly followed the young assistant out.
Her desk mate followed along as well.
Sheng Tang glanced at Jiang Baocu, "If you don’t want to go, we don’t have to."
Jiang Baocu took a deep breath and smiled, "It’s nothing, really. I should have introduced you to him sooner. Let’s go."
Sheng Tang: "..."
She vaguely understood but wasn’t entirely sure.
She said nothing as Jiang Baocu took her arm, following Yan Jinzhi and the others.
They walked through a corridor and quickly arrived at the backstage lounge area.
The lounge area had about ten rooms with people coming and going.
The young assistant led them to the foremost room.
The lounge had a sofa and television. The young assistant asked them to sit and wait, then hurriedly left.
A moment later, the young assistant rushed back in, carrying a tray with a large bottle of freshly squeezed juice and various snacks.
"Please wait a moment." She added, "I need to get back to work."
After she left, Yan Jinzhi moved to the door.
She was thrilled, "I’m going to meet Mr. Jiang!"
Seeing her almost bursting with joy, everyone in the room laughed.
They waited for over two hours.
The concert was set to start in forty minutes.
The sound of the lively crowd outside reached the backstage lounge area, and Yan Jinzhi frequently checked her watch.
She hoped someone would come through the door any second, but also feared it would be Ding Cheng, apologizing that Mr. Jiang didn’t have time and promising to meet her another day.
She was anxious and restless.
Sheng Tang couldn’t hold it in anymore, "Yan Jinzhi, can you sit for a while? You’re making me dizzy."
"I can’t sit still." Yan Jinzhi kept pacing around the room like a donkey grinding mill.
Her mood was so uneasy that she couldn’t sit down for even a moment.
"Yan Jinzhi, you seem to like older people a lot." Sheng Tang remarked.
Yan Jinzhi nodded, "Yes, I might have an Electra complex. I didn’t have a father growing up."
Sheng Tang: "..."
Later, Sheng Tang learned that Yan Jinzhi’s mother was a strong woman who owned a vast business empire.
Her father had died in a car accident when she was three years old, and her mother never remarried.
The lack of fatherly love led her to admire older figures. When she was in the third year of middle school, she even had a crush on her class teacher.
As they were talking, the lounge door opened.
A man in a white T-shirt walked in with a slightly younger man accompanying him, both smiling warmly.
Sheng Tang’s eyes lit up at the sight of him.
Though he was dressed casually, it was clear he hadn’t yet changed for his performance. Nonetheless, he was extremely handsome.
He was in his forties but well-maintained, with hardly any wrinkles. His charm was more refined with age, making his good looks even more striking.
Then, his gaze fell on Jiang Baocu’s face, looking slightly surprised before smiling, "Bao Chu, is that you?"
