Chapter 492: Chapter 492 Sheng Tang Seeks a Kiss
Gu Shiting had not researched how to fix cars.
If he had tried to figure it out, he should soon know where the problem was.
"Tangtang, let me see the reason why the car stalled," Gu Shiting said.
He took out his phone which only had ten percent battery left and started searching online for the problem.
After searching for a while, Gu Shiting felt like he hadn’t even used his phone for two or three minutes before the battery dropped directly to two percent.
It could shut down at any moment.
He quickly used the remaining battery to call Song Chen again.
There was still no answer.
Gu Shiting decided to call his mom, and didn’t care about the scolding his sister and Song Chen might get when they returned. He couldn’t worry about that now.
Just as he was about to call, the screen on his phone went dark.
No battery.
"This stupid phone!" He wished he could throw the phone down the mountain.
Sheng Tang was beside him, hugging her arms and smiling.
She watched the sun gradually sink to the west, knowing dusk was imminent, and felt helpless.
Gu Shiting was afraid of the dark, and the mountain wasn’t like the city with neon lights. When everything turned pitch black, what would he do?
"Let me take another look at the car," Gu Shiting said.
He had just checked a few stalling issues but was confused by the inner workings of a car.
After tinkering for about twenty minutes, Gu Shiting still couldn’t fix the car.
The sun had already dropped to the treetops in the distance, turning into a brilliant red, with no golden rays left. It was about to disappear below the horizon.
Gu Shiting’s face turned slightly pale.
Sheng Tang grabbed his hand and said, "Let’s stay in the car. I’ve sent a message to Sister Feifei. She will come looking for us even if I don’t reply."
Gu Shiting nodded.
He and Sheng Tang got back into the car, and the twilight deepened, leaving only half of the sun’s face.
The sunset was still dazzlingly brilliant, casting a fiery glow over the mountains and trees, dyeing them a golden red.
Sheng Tang held Gu Shiting’s hand.
Sure enough, his palm started to sweat coldly.
"Ting, remember how we were in the villa, and you could last for ten minutes after the lights went out?" Sheng Tang looked into his eyes. "Can you do it this time?"
Gu Shiting: "I’ll be fine."
Despite his words, he felt uncertain.
Walking back would take too long; if they got lost, even his sister’s men couldn’t find him, which would be worse. Staying here felt equally hopeless.
The twilight gradually faded.
From the distant foot of the mountain came the clear sound of a ringtone from Sheng Tang’s phone.
Sheng Tang judged the distance and realized it had fallen to the bottom of the mountain. Without rope or footholds, there was no way to retrieve it.
"Listen, it must be Sister Feifei calling back. She’ll be here soon." Sheng Tang said joyfully.
Gu Shiting’s spirit lifted as well.
However, the night soon enveloped them, blurring Gu Shiting’s vision, and a bead of cold sweat slid from his temple.
His hand instinctively gripped Sheng Tang’s tighter.
Sheng Tang’s hand hurt from his grip, her fingers nearly breaking.
She remained silent.
Seeing Gu Shiting’s worsening condition, Sheng Tang continued to talk to him.
Initially, he could barely respond.
Sheng Tang’s phone at the bottom of the mountain rang a few more times before going silent.
Gu Shiyan and Song Chen should realize by now that they might be in trouble.
Rescue should come soon.
Sheng Tang remembered Doctor Sun saying that no matter how much Gu Shiting suffered, as long as he didn’t go into shock, he’d be fine.
But if he did go into shock, it could be life-threatening.
Sheng Tang kept talking, deliberately guiding him.
She felt like time was dragging, uncertain how long had passed before Gu Shiting stopped responding.
Sheng Tang cupped his face.
His breath was weak.
"Ting, can you still hear me?" Sheng Tang anxiously asked.
Gu Shiting took about twenty or thirty seconds to respond, struggling, as if his tongue was a thousand pounds: "Yes."
Sheng Tang knew things were bad.
If they delayed any longer, Gu Shiting would only deteriorate.
"Ting, I want to kiss you," Sheng Tang suddenly said. "Can I kiss you?"
Her words were like a shot of adrenaline; Gu Shiting suddenly twitched and became somewhat clear-headed.
He opened his eyes wide.
Seeing his reaction, Sheng Tang immediately cupped his face and kissed him deeply.
